- So You Think is a NZ bred colt who won 10 Group I races in 5 countries. He is described by Bart Cummings as the best horse he ever trained during his illustrious career. He won two Cox Plates - his first as a 3 year old at only his 5th start.
So You Think (NZ) is by High Chaparral - Triassic and was sold to Coolmore Stud as a 4 year old. He is now a shuttle stallion serving in Ireland and Australia.
I Remember walking my Greyhound near the Cranbourne track listing to Cox Plate on a radio and head phones, Backed and paid like 9.00 and had one out in the Quaddie nailed both that day Happy Times :-)
The dark bay beast from the mighty Waikato was an out and out champion. He had it all from looks through to freakish talent. My favourite horse along with Arrogate. Love you So You Think and still really miss you racing even after 5 years. The time around 2009-2012 was pure awesomeness for horse racing enthusiasts having the Mighty So You Think the great mare Black Caviar and the beast Frankel racing at the time. I still honestly believe So You Think could have beaten Frankel over 10 furlongs especially in the 2012 English Champion Stakes with the ground coming up soft. So You Think was a freak on soft ground. His 2010 win in the Mack in non Stakes was a very good example. He would have defeated Cirrus Des Angles too in my opinion. Just a shame he was injured and they retired him before he could go back to back in the 2012 Eclipse Stakes.
If you think SYT would have beaten Frankel., then you need to see a doctor. He beat the extremely slow Carlton House at Royal Ascot and only beat Farrh because that one got hemmed in at the rail. The previous year in the same race, So You Think got beaten. What`s more, Excelebration had no trouble beating Carlton House by further and Excelebration was beaten five times by "His Majesty" Frankel including once by eleven lengths.

In my opinion, had he gotten to continue his racing career in Australia under the direction of Bart Cummings instead of being sent to Aidan O'Brien in Ireland, to this day I honestly believe we could've, and I think likely would've seen So You Think complete four wins in the Cox Plate probably two or three seasons prior to Winx ever having accomplished the feat. That said, kudos to Winx for actually having gotten it done, because in the case of So You Think it will forever remain purely speculation on my part that he could've won four Cox Plate's too.
You may be right, but on the contrary, SYT would probably have stuck in Australia instead of having more chances to had some major overseas participations, such as Arc de Triomphe, Breeders' Cup Classic, or Dubai World Cup (to be honest, the latter two could have been shifted to those on turf, since it would always something unfamiliar for SYT to race on dirt).
I can’t see any scenario where Pinker Pinker or Ocean Park could have beaten him unless his jockey fell off.
I think he would have retired after winning his 3rd Cox Plate. And a BMW in the autumn

He was a champion if he stayed in Australia only like a certain Winx I have no doubt he would of won the Cox Plate 4-5 times but we will never know he did run in the Cup for 3rd outstanding run something Winx never did picked choose those races just to keep her unbeaten run never ran in a handicap idiots saying she could of Wilson the Cup or The Galaxy pie in the sky stuff they never were going to race Winx in a Handicap or in a Field that had 18-20 horses in it like a Epsom or Doncaster like Sunline did No1 in a Doncaster not every race WFT ! Getting back to So You Think he did more winning Group 1s in Europe than Winx ever did winning the Cox Plate Queen Elizabeth against small weak fields in Australia they cost Australia & New Zealand millions in breeding because if she had run over there or Japan or Hong Kong Europeans would of come down to the Sales every year trying to buy the next Champion
I don't give a fuck who disagrees..... Winx is not a champion like this guy is. He beat far better opposition and won internationally at group one level. Im so over people getting caught up on winx... She has had a very eady time of it. And SYT had breathing issues when he won his 1st cox plate
