I bought a panel & plan to rely on your bypass instructions in order to power my GoPro 300. It will be my very first complete set up, yay! Thank you for all your solid info, guidance & instruction Hobo.
I had a twin glass panel break in the desert. The wind flipped it over on the ground. Still seemed to work, but little shreds of glass kept falling off. So I spent the big buck and got a 100 watt folding Bluetti- love it.
I have version 1 with battery controller bypassed to charge my EB150. Usually 100 watts is normal, have never seen above 102 watts. Great video with good information. Thanks
I just got my panels about a month ago. There are online directions. It says that it only can charge a lead acid or agm battery. Good that I have a lead acid battery.
As a last resort, maybe removing the input and output supply will allow the SCC to be adjusted...!! Sounds a little expensive, no..?? I remember when those panels blew off Heidi's RV... The panels continued to work, while the relationship ultimately did not.. LOL! Yes, we've all been there... LOL!
I bought the cheapest 100 watt solar panel on Amazon, a Mighty Max poly for $77. At 3pm in Louisiana using a Bluetti EB70 I was getting 98 to 102 watts with it. I did leave it in the sun for one hour before the test.
Oh nice that’s promising to hear, i was just looking at some panels and i keep hearing to go with renogy mono panels but then i also hear rich solar cheaper poly panels do better, not really sure if I should cheap out or not.
@@freedomfighter1861 The poly panels are larger. I saw a Will Prowse video and decided to get poly panels because they were putting out more wattage in bright sun, but the mono panels do a bit better in low light. I`m gonna get some of those next for cloudy days and test them.

hello hobo tech. question. i was installing my brand new max air rv roof vent fan. it did not have a connector for my bluetti { which i did buy on your recomendation, love it} so i didnt have a cigarette plug and i used a regular wall outlet plug for ac current. did i burn up my circut board. or maybe the connection wasnt good? any thoughts i did plug it into my bluetti ac side
Thank you for all your research. Any reason this would not work with the GoLabs 300w unit you reviewed recently? I’ve been looking fir a decent economical panel to go with it. Thanks again.
Hello I love your channel, I have been thinking about purchasing the Titan solar system, it runs about 3,200 and I would love to get you input on this. Thanks...
So could I connect this solar panel directly to my coach battery under the hood of my RV to charge that puppy??? 🤔 And would I have to unhook it from the termals or just use it like a jumper cable??? Thanks!

Per the manual found on their webpage, the controller is only good for 'lead acid batteries', so it will NOT work for lithium batteries. So in today's market, it is (almost) worthless.
Looks a lot like the controller Dokio uses. First button is menu, long press that then walk through menu until you see b01, which means lead acid. b02 is lithium b03 is lifepo4
We need a 400 watt flex suitcase... [rv guys] with quality charger... makes sense to me... why not anyone else? Lightweight, and actually functional! Who has 8 hrs to waste in full sunlight? Try charging in seattle with anything less.. week later,, maybe, good luck...
There is no such thing. It would be too large and heavy. You're better off with a pair of 200w Rich Solar or similar suitcase kits and wire them in series to your own MPPT controller. hobotech.tv/amazon/#Solar-Kits
I have this panel, and love it ! The panel produces as advertise for years……. The charge controller is a little janky, but I by-pass the controller. Peacefrom510
Continued... ran out of room. What I don't like: The "legs", and I use that term loosely are total crap. They work but are wobbly as all hell and to put a cherry on top they put one of the "legs" inside the back accessories pouch.(WTF?) So you can forget about storing your accessories in there if you have to use the "legs". I've resorted to having my Golabs R300 underneath the middle and using the "legs" to finagle the panel flat. My recommendation is just like an MRE "lean it against a rock or something". Also they give you 4 carbiners but there is only one place to snap 2 of them. Maybe someone needs to call the seamstress as they forgot 2 grommets on the end the solar array. I'm sorry, I'll try and do a proper test with the numbers when I can, but we've just been having terrible weather lately for testing solar panels. Like weeks of hazy and partly cloudy or rainy days. Maybe in the fall when the clear north winds come it will be a little easier. I'll also test hot vs cold and see how much it loses due to heat. Thanks. Anyway Thanks professor for all that you have done put your crypto wallet addresses up and I'll shoot ya some. Tip for the R300 and this panel: If you plug in the panel and the unit starts giving you with "E09" input overvoltage error(>22v) beeps. Don't worry the panel will be under load and the error will go away in a second or two and start charging. Alternatively you could just stand in front of the panel or wait until the panels are hot while plugging it in so it's not getting full power until it goes under load (16-18v). I just ignore it until the MPPT sorts it out.
How much are they ?? JK 😜JK ... i am trying to find an inexpensive solar suitcase. Can you direct me to one of your videos to help me. I am NOT tech savvy. Thanks

Battery clamps on the the wires: "I'll take janky setup for 200, please Alex"

You can probably connect a SoGen to the load side of the solar controller, without disconnecting the other wires.
Load only puts out 12.6v.
Great video as always thanks for the knowledge!!
6:23 for the charging
If you're going to use a MPPT SCC and going to hack the wiring. Rewire the panels into series.

Yes.
I'd put some electrical tape around those clamps, just to ensure the don't short.
