    I like the way you showed real time real life usage. Thanks for showing the interference on amps radios etc. This shows that the producer has skimped on electrical filtering. Generark, please include filtering. Many ham radio operators have these types of units, but this shows this is not a unit I would buy, just for that sole reason.

    I just bought two 1000w I believe one is extra station w/panel. Then I seen the silver one after I ordered. I hope to get that next because I'm on oxygen. I need more thing two generators. Can you please make a video on hooking up a inverter, the generator, & solar panels all together & pass through charging. I'm a newbie. It sounds like I know but I really don't. Hi Hobo! Thank you for what you do. I am 64 years old, looking to live in a van or RV, probably an RV trailer. Out of all you've reviewed, is there one single solar generator you'd recommend giving me so much power, I can run an air conditioner in 120 degree weather, refrigerator and all other home appliances. I'm guessing Pecron is one of the strongest at $7000.

    I'm stuck. Currently I have a huge 9,500 watt generator, max 12,000 watts. I have an enclosed trailer, currently looking for a rig to build so hauling this generator isn't an issue. It's wicked overkill for my needs. I don't know yet what I'll do for power on the rig. I'm almost thinking a combo of a solar generator and solar panels to 2 litho batteries. I could keep the 9,500 watt generator to charge on cloudy days. Way to much to think of. Lol. As for a layout I have a design in mind that will work in a van, bread truck, box truck or old RV.

    I don't understand your comment about UPS mode wearing out the batteries. I would have thought that if you are getting say 1000 watts from the wall charger, that voltage is 'charging' the batteries, but you are simultaneously pulling 1000 Watts from the batteries/inverter, so they should equal out and no power would actually go in or out of the batteries. I suppose that the charger might be supplying a 'charging' voltage, rather than a float charge to the batteries in this circumstance and that wouldn't be good for the them. You likened it to APC UPS units. All APC UPS units I have come across in the past have used Lead Acid batteries, which I believe is the main reason you have to change them after 3 to 5 years. Happy to be educated if I have miss-understood this. Thanks.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pass through charging does use the batteries "slightly" which over long enough time will wear them out. Granted, you keep the load under 1000w it would likely take years for this to happen. However, I don't want folks blaming me for their sogen blowing up thinking they can use this as a UPS forever.

  • @locascioantonino

    One more thing before I go you ever try to get it in Vider small just enough that will give supplies to the amplifier and then plug that inside the get Inverter like people plug inside of their vehicle small enough that you can plug into the solar generator and then plug it to the speaker and see if it makes the same noise again that’s one way it’s always trying a different thing

I've spent hours searching, but every solution I've found is so complicated & expensive, it's beyond me. I already have a propane-powered generator, for some lights & electronics & a few hours per day for the frig & freezer. But the furnace needs a separate backup system, due to its regular on/off cycling (for the ignition & fan). Any recommendations? So... apart from sexier design and the 5-year warranty, how is this any better than the AC200MAX? I'm not seeing anything else, and the AC200MAX has LiFePO4, is expandable, and allows standard MC4 connections to solar. They have about the same capacity, and right now with discount codes the AC200MAX is $100 less during the current Bluetti Halloween sale.

      Ha! But seriously, if I were in sales, and a potential client/customer asked me, "How is this worth $100 more than the AC200MAX", I'd have a hard time. The "sexy" design (I do like it) is cosmetic mostly, unless you need a smaller footprint and you have room for something taller. The warranty (5 years versus 2) is admittedly a big deal and the one strong selling point, but you are representing a company that has not demonstrated they will even be around that long to honor it. Other than that, the AC200MAX beats this one in almost every way and is $100 *less* during the current Bluetti sale.

    Right now they both are sold out of what I really want. so if you know a comprable product for me to consider, please let me know.
    Thanks 😊
    Steve

    I really feel like some of these off brand sogen products are market test brands the way Aiwa used to be Sony's experimental line of stereos. That way they can avoid tarnishing their bigger brand name with new features if they don't work as promised.

    If ups power supply units are built like almost all and maybe all units that use sealed lead acid batteries they keep the battery at 12 volts and discharge them to 10.8 volts which causes sulfated plates that kills the battery I've bought booster packs to charge my cordless tools they'd only last 12 to 14 months before they wouldn't take or hold a charge so because they were cheap around 60 $ so I bought a new one every year or two then I found utube and found out that the problem was with the charging parameters I thought that the manufacturer should know proper charging parameters for their units but my old black and decker was handy so I opened it up to find the battery manufacturer thinking I'd go to their website and find out what their charge parameters were didn't have to written right on the battery was do not discharge below 12.2 float charge is 13.4 and full charge is 14.8 and on the built in charger was 12 volts so it was dead to start with and being discharged way too much no wonder it failed it was designed to fail so I'd be curious if ups units are the same way also found out some companies lie I have 2 units I bought before I found utube they charge to 13.1 so I phoned the maker and they assured me that was fully charged but I noticed that the amount of boosts I could get from a charge was down after almost a year my units dropped from 5 boosts to 4 and then to 3 so I hooked up my good charger through the booster cables turned on the booster cables and plug in the charger it got it to 13.2 let it charge overnight but it wouldn't get any higher used it to boost my pt cruiser 3 times hooked up the charger it got it a little higher after a few cycles it finally got to full charge but I noticed that that it will only charge to 13. 9 it's now 18 months and still going if I can get 2 years before they die I'm happy if I can get 5 years great because I found utube videos telling me how to change the battery in these units and I have some good units that i can replace the battery in and upgrade to by putting in 12 volt regulated circuitry as well as usb quick charge and type C both would be nice

    The noise you making with the amplifier do you going directly to the unit you need a filter that will cut that noise down believe me I’m a ham operator tech testing need filter nothing is 100% when I cover when I’m running about 5000 watts i’m pretty sure the next time you come on TH-cam what are amplifier you probably come out with a filter like that it will not interfere believe me I got faith in you put a filter between that and when you go near the amplify it won’t make noise I have one of those at home I forgot what they called but it’s me for my ham radio you’re the technician believe me that’s all you got a time to get a filter and I know it will be gone

    I'm a amateur radio operator looking for one that possibly doesn't have RF that wipes out all ham bam frequencies within a 50-ft range of operating any power off of one of these ? anybody found any that will work for amateur radio operators without all the hash noise ?
    I do have an EB 150 have to turn it off anytime I want to operate radio even if this is at end of a 50 foot extension cord.

      @Larry Butler Hahahahaaaaa! OK Larry, good point, but help me out. I'm almost 70 YOA and a female on my own and I need something I can understand, something I can physically handle, something with an inverter and solar panels because I refuse to deal with gas and it's dangers. Besides, I want something long term and gas is not the way to go. I'm tired of shopping, I'm sick to death of trying to comprehend this gizmo and that thing-a-ma-bob, and hooking up this to that and watching out for this and that. I just want to be able to stay warm during the winter and cool during the summer, and something that keeps my food fresh. And for God's sake, don't tell me I need a man!! If you can find me a descent man that can deal with me and all my faults and vice versa, then by all means send him my way. Otherwise, I'll settle for the type of generator I described in the above description. Thank you.
