This was one of the major reasons why people were furious about the first book - in the book, Simon was drunk and not in a position to give his consent. Instead of rewriting that scene completely while making the show, the writers butchered it up by making it a case of dubious consent, instead of it being a clear case of non-consent. I wish Netflix/Shondaland would at least acknowledge that what Daphne did was NOT OKAY when they do recaps like this one.

What are you complaining about these are FICTIONAL characters! The show is not for children. The whole point of casting this black boy to play a white character is sell sex. The show is sex on a stick. The black boy was sexualized in this series. That is the only reason how some people put with the cringe. That wasnt assault, assuming the boy was already courting the princess.
So you wanted Netflix to leave it as sexual assault instead of changing it lightly so that there wouldn't be any problems with it? I've watched many series based on books and I've learned to separate them, even if the movie/serie is very loyal to the book, if it didn't happen in the series, it didn't happen at all.
I must admit I loved this show. In fact, I have watched Bridgerton at least 25 to 30 times. Seriously. Each time I noticed things that don't jump off the screen, but are vital to the story. And I have read almost all of the books in the series that follows each siblings quest for love. Season 2 will be just as entertaining I'm sure.

I can’t figure out which book is the best I personally like Eloise’s story Anthony’s and hyacinth’s story but most of all I like Gregory’s story the most scandalous of all eight books.
Eloise' is my favorite book in the series, but "on the way to the wedding" has my favorite moment in it, it's when Hyacinth goes all 'How could you!' on Lucy after she refused Gregory in the church- She doesn't care she is talking to a soon-to-be countess, she doesn't care she stands in front of the entire ton in the middle of a wedding, she just watched her brother's heart get broken and she is ready to take off someone's head. It's the most Hyacinth thing in this entire series
