Was so excited when I found out this was going to be series as a fan of the books. Throughly enjoyed the 1st season, but Anthony's book is my fav out of all the books, so really looking forward to this season.

I was so miffed about how they messed with his story in season 1, Colin's book (book #4) has always been my favourite and they just threw Marina in there and made Penelope look like a childish mean girl...
@@CarinaCoffee yes I agree. The whole point in season 4 with colin is that he had not experienced love before and struggled to recognise it as it crept up on him with Penelope. It was gradual...Marina had no point to the plot and how is this going to play with Sir Philip in Eloises story?
@@samm5625 well, I feel like the whole thing with Marina will not be that big of a problem if they stick to the original storyline, because then she'll have mental health issues and commit suicide and will be out of the picture. Maybe they go with she died in an accident, but honestly, mental health is an important issue and I can't see someone as progressive as Netflix and Shondaland shy away from that. But yeah, that should solve that changed plot.
I'm much more worried about how they're gonna untangle the whole love story between Colin and Penelope, as you said it should have crept up on him and she'd been pining over him for years and I thought her realising the reality of him vs the pedestal she'd put him on and the whole thing about him finding his passion for writing thanks to Penelope and them having that growth that made him accept her love and both of them learning to feel worthy of being loved, all that made their story so beautiful and relatable.
Well now in season 2 they apparently will "send each other letters while Colin was travelling". It makes a bit more sense with the dynamic they have in the show vs the books, but I still don't think it would make that much sense for their characters even on the show to send letters to each other. Wonder how they will explain that.
@@CarinaCoffee yeh very true...and I hope they use that mental health issue as an opportunity for awareness..although i dont know how this will change colins emotions re love.. It's really important to keep to source material that's the nuance that makes us fall in love with them. Colin can be rude to her especially in the church when he followed her...it's her realising the whole pedestal thing combined with colins realisation that she is this most incredible women that everyone underestimated...then he turned into her most fierce advocate during that crazy scene with the featheringtons when declaring his intentions..
I really applaud Rege and Phoebe for doing such a fantastic job of introducing the Bridgerton world. They did so well and as 'Daphne' said, her success paves the way for her siblings to find love as well. I mean imagine if Bridgerton wasnt a hit. We wouldn't have a 2nd season.

After reading the 1st 5 Bridgerton books, my appreciation for the cast grew tenfold! They actually brought the characters to life specially the Bridgerton family and Penelope! I’m excited for Penelope and Colin’s story but getting Benedict’s first wouldn’t be so bad.

@@dumpie4162 frustrated and disappointed in how the plot has been changed so much as to be almost unrecognisable. I think Julia Quinn must feel very sad that the screen writers dumped most of her best seller story context and only left in the Pall Mall scene and the 'Bee sting ' scene which was very bland in comparison to the book scene which ends up humour for the reader. All the humorous scenes especially with the rambunctious Newton are completely missing. I had been so looking forward to seeing the adaption to screen . Screen writers thought they could write a better book. I don't mind changes but to completely dump the main plot context , WOW that's ego indeed. They missed the golden opportunity to have Edwina say there was no chemistry between Anthony & herself and find the man of her dreams , a scholar ( he is studying Archaeology, imagine Edwina's side sub plot) in the form of Mr Bagwell who she meets at the Bridgerton weekend Ball.
@@micheledix2616 it's obvious that they didn't want to repeat the same thing in season one by marrying because you were caught together. For Anthony and Kate to want to be together for themselves and not because they put them together cause that would be too easy. I definitely found season 2 better. The slowburn the yearning everything was great. Plus I'm sure Julia wouldn't care as much as far as they kept them together plus the revenue she's making cause it was a bigger success

Could Penelope have possibly taken the responsibility of bringing wealth into her family by revealing just to her family that she was indeed the Lady Whistledown ? But maybe then her mother and sister would have tried to manipulate her into writing & doing stuffs which she probably wouldn't want to do.

I loved this entire series♡ did multiple reread. I am just super annoyed that they showed who whistledown was in the first season...when we didn't find out till Her book ! That's the only real annoyance for me. They did a great job, definitely excited for season 2

Anyway, I love the integration of this vital part of Colin's personality, whenever Colin arrives at anyone's home everyone rushes to get some food into him 😂
I loved the second season although I did not expect them to improve on Season one. I also appreciate their throwing in a bit of history since Queen Charlotte was actually mixed race with origins in Portugal and Northern Africa (Moors). The British colonial history in India was another historical element. Bravo!

the casting team really did a fantastic job. the actors playing Colin (Luke), Eloise (Claudia) and Hyacinth (Florence) looked really alike. Also, Colin (Luke), if you watch the recent trailer, looks like his father there.

I can't wait!! I love the costuming the most followed by the diversity in casting. Who cares if the Queen is black, she is fabulous! I love how it was all different races in season one. It just throws a shoe at preexisting days gone by and screw the so called Royalty now that just needs to go in my opinion. I'm a conservative by nature and despite what people think, we love all people of all colors so kudos to this production and financiers to bring us real live color in costume as well as people! Love it so much!! Just need Tiernan from GOT and we're all set!
It is a pity that they sidelined their WoC lead for S2 in order to promote their white lead for S3 then, I mean if you like the diversity I am sure you are angry that the white S3 lead got more promotion during S2 than the Indian woman who was the lead, just watching this you can see that the actual S2 leads were nothing but an afterthought, and not really part of promoting their own season, and this was the beginning.

the actors that play Anthony and Kate really do make a very attractive couple 😍 i'm very happy that they kept Kate the way she was portrayed in books (regardless of skin color). compared to her tiny sister Kate looked like an amazon. i'm glad they found a tall woman that moves so very decisively like Kate is supposed to do. i'm so stocked for this season!
for eveyone else that have already read the books i wonder what you're most looking for. pall mall, the stomy night, the bee scene, the one where anthony throws the key to the floor. it's such a wonderful book with so many things constantly happening. arg!!! 25 march is so far away!
