      No coffee for me! I decided to quit for good a couple weeks ago!! After drinking coffee daily for a decade, I decided to stop. I actually feel tired and can go to sleep now! I know what it's like to experience genuine fatigue now!

      I never drink coffee. I have 3 kids I just turned 26 this month and I am 1.70 cm and 63 kg. I want to lose belly fat and till the end of the year I have this goal to achieve 55 kg . I am doing keto . But I have to admit I do love keto fat bombs. Do you think I can do it ? Love from Romania.

    I find coffee hijacks my ability to think clearly about complex problems and makes me more impulsive. I quit it for the sake of my mental health and now working from home all the time address tiredness by napping. It’s amazing how much more energised I feel and how much clearer I can think when well rested instead of amped up with stimulants. Honestly will never go back to addicted daily coffee drinking.

      @@pablochamber411 Back to daily addicted coffee drinking! I did well until I became overburdened with work (Started doing 16 hour days and not through choice. Literally had to do it to keep my family together, just don’t ask) and needed something to keep me going. The nervous energy is back, sleep isn’t so good, moods up and down more, irritable and grouchy off the caffeine etc. etc. This phase of my life should settle in the next few months, then I’m off it again.

      I'm quitting it just to see how I feel without it. It's been about a week from you with no coffee. I had maybe 30 mg this first or second day because of the headache and then 15 mg of a water iced tea insert. And then I had 22 mg of tea a few days ago I just had drink half of the whole container and then just ditch the rest cuz I don't want the sugar or the rest of the caffeine because I changed my mind and didn't want to have a full 44 mg. I just hate waking up and not having something sweet tasty that caffeine taste, it really woke me up in the mornings but I have dealt with a lot of mental health issues and I found that when I cut coffee my endometriosis is better.
      I do notice that I don't have a numb feeling anymore in the mornings on my arms and legs which I had previously. I started dreaming more often. I yawn at work sometimes in spurts and feel tired but I also haven't gone a full week without any caffeine. I'm turning to a little more sugar just to get through the withdrawals (orange juice, chocolate shake). But now I'm even not wanting to go down that route because obviously that's damaging and honestly that's the next I'm planning on cutting is sugar.
      In the past I cut sugar AND coffee the same few days and couldn't stand the headaches even with pain meds and it's taken me idk less than a year to come back to trying to quit. I've heard it can even take like 6 mos for your body to reset everything with that for your adrenals.
      I'm also quitting it for mild HPV. I read in a more alkaline environment it won't be as prevalent.
      So yeah cutting for HPV endometriosis and mental health. I've dealt with anxiety which is everybody and I'm hoping that helps aid that as well. I also have ADHD I dealt with really like 15 mental health issues because I was really abused as a child but primarily it's ADHD mild bipolar borderline anxiety depression. So just hoping it gets rid of most of those and the social anxiety too.
      But I like the kick in the morning where I feel like a superwoman and can get so much done just because I have an iced coffee. I hate not having that kick in the morning.
      But I want to give this a chance to see if there's benefits from coming off.
      Also there's other health benefits from a less acidic body as well

    I shake my head whenever I drive by a Starbucks and see the line of 20 cars at the drive thru at 6am. I’m glad I’m not a victim of that drug.

    Caffeine definitely isn't for me. For the past 4+ years I ingested some sort of caffeine every single day whether in the form of energy drinks, preworkouts, coffee, caffeine pills, tea. Early on I started experiencing chronic fatigue and breathing issues when I started regularly consuming it but I didn't link it at the time, just thought maybe it was my diet and lack of exercise. But then even after cleaning up my diet and lifting religiously I was still gassed and the fatigue was getting even worse to the point where I thought I might be terminally ill. Turns out I was in a destructive cycle of using caffeine to fight fatigue brought on by caffeine in the first place and it was doing a number on my body. I'm currently on day 3 of no caffeine and I have my natural energy back, no more chronic fatigue, no afternoon crashing, no more crappy 4 hours of sleep per night. I feel so much better that I'll never go back to having caffeine ever again.

    Some people have high tolerance to coffee, they can drink coffee before bedtime and still sleep well. Not my case. I drank coffee since I was 13 or 14, a lot. Perhaps that's the cause today I have so little tolerance to it.
    I stop drinking coffee about ten years ago due to anxiety and panic attacks. I discovered that when I drink coffee every day I simply need the coffee to stay "normal" because once I pass the withdrawal period my levels of energy go back to normal, so for me it has no sense to drink a substance that doesn't have any benefits in my performance and levels of energy and makes me addicted.
    Since I left coffee and now that my anxiety is over control, over the years I try to drink a cup in the mornings to see if my tolerance has changed. The first days it goes very well and it gives me a boost of energy, but after a week or so it becomes the "normal" again, I become dependent, and it stops to make sense.
    I become easily addicted to the flavor, to the smell, even to the "ritual". It's not worth it for me.

      KL Sounds something like coke has 30mg of caffeine and I believe diet coke is higher. So less than regular coffee, more than decaf!

    All the points you made resonate with me. I didn’t drink coffee until I was 50, I’m now 57. I hate being reliant on something. If I went more than 24 hours without a coffee I would develop headaches and fatigue. Without coffee my skin is better, no more gastric irritation, no more episodes of anxiety. I miss the social aspect of coffee very much but will get over that I’m sure. Good video, many thanks 😊

    For most people (me included) coffee is about the experience, the smell, the taste. I've cut out coffee before, never felt less energetic or anything, I just missed the taste.

    I’m 3 days off caffeine and I feel less anxious and more eager to get up and out to do something for the day. I’m going to stick to my plan to not return to coffee. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    I've given up coffee for good. It is addictive, right up there with sugar. It definitely was interfering with sleep and causing irritability. On all the times I've stopped all caffeine consumption, it's not that experienced massive withdrawal symptoms like headaches. I just was a bit drained of energy for a few days or a week. But it still felt like a dependence.
    Certainly, in the past, I was using it as self-medication for depression, along with sugar. I was using coffee not so much to feel better, since like sugar it always leads to crashes. Rather, I was constantly pumping my body full of stimulants just to feel normal, since my tolerance levels would inevitably increase as did my intake.

      @@pablochamber411 - I'm still going without caffeine. And my diet remains low-carb, although I binged on carbs for the Thanksgiving meal.
      I'll go back to low-carb as normal. Then I'll probably do a longer fast next week as a cleanse and to get my body fully back into ketosis. I rarely splurge like this.
      The sugar is still more addictive than caffeine. But the caffeine causes more noticeable effect on my system. I just feel better without it and don't miss it.

    I stopped all caffeine/ gluten/ sugar as of aug 2020 I was a very heavy user of all these
    You think headaches were a pain ... try days of all over body aches ... I had to get Deep tissue masssges as the pain was horrendous ... sleepless nights...
    One thing though .., I’ll never go back to my past ways

      I’ve stayed away from all sweet foods ... I do however consume Youngveity
      Vitamins and minerals .. some of which contain stevia

    Great video, Kait. I am on my 6th day of quitting coffee. I'm on the carnivore diet. My stomach and gut issues just weren't resolving. I've tried several times to quit and keep going back. I've had ulcers and panic attacks in the past and last week I started getting the attacks again and burning in my chest. So I knew I had to get serious. Once I stopped, the burning didn't recur and the panic attacks have settled down. I've been drinking it for 45 years (I'm 66) so it was a lovely habit, till it wasn't. Now I have to create new habits. I've been having bone broth as a substitute and if you make your own there's tons of fat in it. Today I tried some MCT oil in it and it was great. I live with a coffee drinker so the temptation is still in the house, but I'm living on the memory of the pain to keep me strong. And I get the Tim's expression, being a Canadian viewer. I gave up Tim's thankfully when I switched to organic so I broke that habit, lol.

    Once I realized that coffee is just a crutch for loneliness, I quit it . That and the obvious bad effects on my mouth , digestion and sleep, it was an easy decision.

    My aunt is a therapist, specializes in anxiety disorders. One of the first questions she asks a new client is, "How much caffeine to you consume per day?" She jokes around that if coffee and energy drinks were made illegal, she might be out of a job.
    I personally found kicking my 3 cup a day habit harder than quitting smoking, never felt better though. My anxiety is now cut in half, and I'm actually able to get to sleep before midnight.

      My therapist asked me to quit coffee for 21 days as well. The first week felt like death nausea, migraines, couldn't focus on anything etc. It gets better thankfully

    When I stopped drinking coffee (1 medium cup per day), my fibroids started to shrink, I stopped having intense menstrual cramps and my BP leveled out. It's done wonders for my hormones. Now I just have a small cup in emergencies like last minute 12 hr night shifts.

    I have drunk very strong coffee since my early 20s, I am now 62. I decided to try and stop. In the past a terrible headache was the result. This time I tapered off slowly right down to one per day. My last coffee atm was 30th Sept. What to have first thing? I have made bulletproof turmeric drink with butter, MCT, etc in blender. It is delicious. I feel & sleep better. My coffee addiction is still evident in that I walk past a cafe and smell that coffee!!😄the craving is reignited briefly, I keep walking!! It is becoming less.

    No more coffee for me. I gave up caffeinated coffee Oct last year. I switched to decaf and I feel substantially better. I do have days without even that.

    I used to work early mornings as a stocker at Aldi. I would have to wake up at 4:30am every morning in order to get there for my 5am shift. Doing this full time forced a caffeine addiction. There was no other way to consistently have the energy needed to work fast and productive that early in the day. But it got to the point where I was completely useless without coffee. On my days off I didn't want to drink any because I didn't want to become more dependent, but in not doing so, my days off would be spent sleeping all day because I had zero energy to do move or do anything at all. Caffeine can be a helpful tool, but in situations where you become dependent on it, it's not worth it.

    My grandfather used to drink coffee all day. His coffee was strong and he still would add a teaspoon or so of Tasters Choice instant in his strong coffee and add a little milk. He was sickly in his older years and I actually think all this caffeine kept him alive for a few extra years.

    On my third day now and feeling like crap, but I know it will be worthy as the adrenal glands won't be working as hard. So far I love that I feel in present time and can experience things more acutely or more in detail as if I were more in tune with my surroundings. I think that the rush from caffeine gives you a sort of superficial alertness that has you ready for a sort of go go go state of mind, rather than a mindful state of being in the here and now.
    Maybe that's why to be more spiritual they recommend you to quit caffeine. It makes sense to me now.

    I have a ridiculously over-sensitive system due to adrenal fatigue. Before I got ill I loved coffee; and I had to stop after the AF as I would literally feel my adrenals pulsing in my lower back when I drank it. Now I'm almost fully recovered and every now and then I will try a cup. The result is always the same: it literally takes me 3 days to get back to where I was before the coffee. My skin gets incredibly dry and red and my eyes are bloodshot. Obviously this is very specific to me; but it does make me wonder if coffee is truly good for you. It dehydrates me so badly and I guess the red skin is due to the reaction in my gut. Saying that, I lament the loss over that delicious drink - love the smell, the ritual, everything about it.

    Coincidentally - I quit coffee close to the same time you did- currently on my 4th week no coffee. I learned recently that coffee beans start out as seeds ( which sounds obvious but I had never thought of it like that.) Since seeds can be inflammatory and also the acidity in coffee can cause inflammation, I decided to quit coffee and also tea. Also quit alcohol since I’m eating carnivore to try and fix some inflammation issues i have from psoriatic arthritis. Anyway- I can say 100% I’m glad I quit coffee! I’m getting an extra hour of sleep per night and wake up feeling super rested and energetic. Always love your videos - thanks!!

    A few days ago I quit drinking coffee cuz of my digestive issues and I have never felt so worn down, irritated, headaches last almost all day, BUT I can sleep slightly better. It’s kind of the same withdrawal symptoms as when I quit smoking except my nicotine cravings were 10x higher than my cravings for a cup of coffee (I was having about 5/6 cups of strong coffee every day). Been 5 months nicotine free and i plan on having coffee be non existent in my life as well😂😂

    I like my coffee Organic, Light roasted (NOT dark, which makes it bitter and destroy the good antioxidants), black, NO any type of sugars, processed milk... Sometimes I add coconut oil, raw organic butter, good quality collagen and only 1/ day 😋👌🏻

    I also follow Snakediet guy, Cole Robinson. One thing I totally agree with the guy is that there are so many coffee addicts in the keto sphere. I realized this at work. One morning a colleague of mine came to fetch his 3rd cup of coffee. We haven't even been working for 1-2 hours. It made me think about my intake how dependent I was. I decided then and there to cut it down. Today, I have better digestive system and don't feel tired during the day. I only drink it like once every other week, sometimes even once a month. The irony of it all is when I speak about the positive effects of cannabis with my coffee addict colleagues 👌

    Originally, I’m like yourself-not a coffee drinker. Until, I moved to Los Angeles. A few years ago, I gave up coffee for about a year. Honestly, I felt better energy wise, sleep better and felt more care for my body. Then, I visited Italy. Oh my goodness, the art form is amazing. I loved that they made it without it having the bitterness. Since my trip, I’m back on my one cup a day. Though, I’m trying to drink enough water to flush my body. I’m really considering to kick the habit, again.

    I stopped drinking coffee 4 months ago. First 2 months, I felt lethargic and less motivated to do things. Now, better sleep and all day sustained energy. I will now use it as a tool for times when I need to stay awake or need focus on something.

      @@rematr1477 it's finally going good! I started supplementing with four sigmatic's non caffeinated lion's mane and cordyceps it's been awesome. I feel so much better and my sleep & energy has improved!

    I quit about 12 years ago, because I was having abdominal pain (IBS?). I have not had even one episode since the day I quit. Pain is a great motivator. I don't miss the coffee (or the pain) at all.

    If caffeine is a big part of your daily diet, taking it away can have a host of unpleasant effects in the short term. These include headache, tiredness, sleepiness, down moods, trouble concentrating, and crankiness. You'll start to feel symptoms a day or two after you stop. They can last anywhere from 2 to 9 days.👍

    In America, since Starbuck became a thing. More Americans are now drinking espresso based coffee drings and sugary coffee shakes. Growing up in the 60's black coffee was more the norm. My Dad's generation would never spend $5 on a coffee drink. Lol
    Having said that I did Carnivore for 8 weeks but drink coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 in the morning for breakfast and just ate 2 time during the day. I haven't felt better. I don't eat carbs/sugar so coffee is the one guilty pleasure that makes life more enjoyable.

      Ya, Starbucks does espresso but most other restaurants and cafes do not. I am pretty sure iit is impossible to find drip here - even at gas stations and McDonald's they have a barista!

    I find no benefits to stopping coffee caffinated or decaf. I still sleep good even when I have coffee before bed. Where I noticed benefits is stopping sweets. Direct refined sugars, pop, candy sweets...etc. MAJOR difference in no tired crashes during the day...dropped weight quickly just from stopping that alone...now working on controlling the carbs, which is much harder....I LOVE BREAD etc... As I have always drank my coffee black, the sugar in coffee that some use, was never an issue for me. Now I have ordered some Bullet proof Brain Octane C8MCT oil for my coffee and trying very hard to get fat adapted. I appreciate all the advice you got on giving up carbs...cause...damn...thats tough!!!

    When I stopped coffee for awhile, I noticed I felt depressed and my work day was creeping by. Now, I feel like I've already cut out so many things, I just keep my coffee. Lol and honestly, it helps me refrain from sweets. I tell myself I get to wake up to some sweet sweet coffee (sweetened w stevia), and that really gets me through the munchies at night 😂

    I tasted coffee as a child and hated it, but have drunk black tea ever since, until this year. I switched to decaf a few years ago because I have acid reflux disease. That helped but did not cure it (I also quit lots of other triggers). When I started the carnivore diet I quit tea altogether and it made a huge difference. Now I drink only filtered water.

    I have one cup a day in the morning. I only drink organic coffee and not with all the sugar extras. I add a little stevia sometimes and sometimes some grassfed butter. And every once in awhile I will go a few weeks without coffee to let my body know I'm in control and not the coffee. I do think coffee can provide some benefits and there are cons for sure. Whatever we drink or eat we should always try to see how we feel after because our bodies react differently than someone else. But great video and very informative.

      Are you aware that, if something is labelled as “organic” it simply means that company has paid for their product to be labelled as such?
      There are tons of products out there that really are organic, that have not paid for that label and there sure as sh*t are tons of products out there who have paid for that label, that absolutely are not organic.
      Please think about that next time you say something as pretentious as “I only drink organic coffee”

    The trick is to have coffee on no more than 2-3 days a week and never 2 days in a row .
    First you reset your tolerance with a 1 week break .
    Your body doesn't need to keep making more adenosine receptors which is part of the trap of daily consumption.

    really strange right? some people dont feel anything from coffee when i drink coffee it feels iam on cocaine when i drink a cup of coffee at 3 o clock mid day i have insomnia the whole night lol

    I know I’m addicted to coffee but I limit myself to one a day. A while ago I used to drink lattes with soy milk when soy milk first became a thing and usually within two hours of drinking it I would feel so depressed, moody, and emotional. I switched back to regular milk and no longer feel that way. Now, I am keenly aware of the acidity in most coffees/espresso drinks and I have a feeling it’s what’s causing my acne so I am attempting to quit. I’ve also noticed that my whole body is tense with anxiety the whole day. It takes conscious effort to force my limbs to relax so I can only imagine that my body is not getting the most rest when I am asleep. Further, I have started having panic and anxiety attacks as I’ve noticed my coffee drink choices get stronger. When I reflect back on my grandma I remember her always drinking plain black homemade coffee (1/3 cup) with water (2/3) and same ratio with pop. I’m now understanding why she must have consumed it that way, because she was ultra sensitive to it. I’m thinking of quitting not because I don’t like coffee but I don’t like that I am dependent on it.

    Does anyone see a correlation between caffeine and hot flashes? My sleep is interrupted by hot flashes, wake up 3-4 times a night. Love my coffee (bullet proof type for breakfast and first lunch) but cut off at 2 pm. I feel very well otherwise Thanks for feedback 💕

    Started drinking coffee only because of some anecdotal evidence that coffee contributes to prostate health. Hard to say exactly why, but my prostate is fine at the same age my father and brother both had prostate cancer. Of course, I also do saw palmetto and pumpkin seeds for the same reason, but my attitude is that anything helpful is good so long as it does more good than harm. Can't think of any negatives except that it took me quite a long time to learn how to make good coffee at home. Now I set up at night and have the thermal pot coffee maker go off at 5 a.m. so the coffee is ready but not too hot for my neighbors to join me on the front porch at 7. Then its off to work by 8 and fully cranked up. And FYI, I really enjoy the heavy cream I started using since I went carnivore on 8/1/2020. Down 35 pounds in less than 90 days. Don't tell anyone my secret, that I still use Splenda in my coffee, and saccharin in my tea. The only thing better than carnivore is dirty carnivore!

    I worked at a Starbucks in San Diego a long time ago. One morning, our manager didn't come in, unbeknownst to us (found out she had to go to energency). So we didn't open at 5am as usual but closer to 8:15am. The attitudes we got from our regulars and others was very angry...I mean, they were pissed off that we weren't open. Yet within a 1.5 mile radius were 5 other Starbucks.
    We all laughed about it later but geez. Some of us got cussed out, yelled out, attitudes, etc.

    Alright I'm going to be updating this because the last time I made it I was talking into my phone and I was in hurry. Now I'm talking into my phone now but hopefully it'll be better. Now I am dyslexic so excuse the writing period when I was 25 I started drinking energy drinks I would drink really high levels of caffeine and even small levels it doesn't really matter. Caffeine raises your cortisol levels it also nullifies vitamin B in the body enforces your body to pee it out. Because of this your body cannot metabolize B vitamins very well be vitamins are specifically designed for giving yourselves in your body energy allowing your blood to move throughout your body the way it supposed to sex drive muscle mass you name it period so Caffey nullifies aspects of B vitamin absorption. On top of this caffeine also notifies iron in your body which your body needs to create new blood cells. On top of that the modern American diet most Americans are not getting enough potassium in their diet 2. The average amount of potassium in American is supposed to get is 4700 mg a day. But most Americans aren't even getting close to a thousand mg a day potassium is incredibly important for your stomach so you can poop. And that's only specifically for the stomach now for your muscles your eyes your liver your kidneys your spleen your gallbladder even your blood it's an item that the body needs. When caffeine gets into your body and nullifies virtually all of your nutrients. It causes your brain to feel less tired by plugging up certain sensors that your brain has in order to tell you that your tired your brain produces certain hormones as the day goes on these hormones attached to certain sensors in your brain these sensors tell you that you're getting tired you need to go to sleep soon. Caffeine nullifies the effects what this really means. Is you're not actually getting energy from caffeine. What's happening is you're getting high your brain the limiters that limit your brain from going too far have been turned off and the body realizes this it knows it's not supposed to happen so the gut immediately starts to have problems your body raises cortisol because you're in a stress state. As your body continually breaks down it pulls more nutrients out of the bone this can cause arthritis it also pulls potassium out of your bone and pulls B vitamins from your liver this can also affect the liver seriously I mean seriously the metabolic rate of your liver will literally drop. This can cause diabetes this can cause brittle bone disease that can cause hair loss muscle fatigue weakness low libido you name it literally completely destroys you this is why many people have called caffeine a neurotoxin. It's literally making you high that's the point it's. Main job is to keep you going but it's not giving you energy it's just telling your body not to stop. This creates a very stressful State for the body and the longer you do it the more your body breaks down. Now the last time I got off caffeine and I fasted for 10 days. It was literally like I was reverting 10 years of Aging in the span of 10 days. By the time I was finished my body looks literally like I was in my early twenties again when I was at the time 30. But at this time I did not understand what caffeine was really doing to me and I did not take it seriously enough so slowly but surely I got back on caffeine and the issues started again the stools I was pooping out. We're nothing but water because my exhaustion rate almost went to zero. My sleep became worse and worse and worse to wear it didn't matter how much sleep I got I never felt like it was enough. It wasn't until an entrepreneur. Friend of mine made a video talking about how bad caffeine is and he banned caffeine from his life that I decided yes it's time to stop it. Since then it's been 2 weeks now almost 3 weeks and my muscles have grown about an inch. My stamina has absolutely exploded I now go to the bathroom without having to take anything to make me go I'm one hundred percent regular going to the bathroom bloating and pressure is no longer problem my food is metabolized crazily fast period And I no longer have acid trouble. That was a big problem I had it I would constantly have terrible acid in my throat. Now I don't have any asset problems anymore. All I drink is tea and water. Listen to me and please take me seriously for those of you who've been on caffeine for as long as I have please listen to me I am 31 years old I was losing my hair I was having trouble losing fat and now I've lost more than 50 lb. Simply by pooping everyday. My sleep is perfect no more sleep problems. My libido has exploded period And I no longer have that high feeling I can think clear. Getting off caffeine has changed my life. I beg you please walk away it's not good for the body

    I’ve given up almost all foods in order to be ketovore. I love coffee and absolutely enjoy being able to have it. I drink a couple cups a day...it’s like the one thing that I allow myself to still have.

    I’m on day 2 without caffeine and have had zero withdrawal symptoms. Which is surprising because I’ve had at least on cup of coffee every day(almost) for at least 15 years. Probably longer to be honest. I started drinking it when I was a teenager.

    Started drinking coffee in my mid-20's. In my early to mid-30's I started becoming more sensitive to caffeine, but I still loved my coffee and would drink a lot of it, but try (not always with success) to not drink it too late in the afternoon, since it messed up my sleep. Two months ago, I went carnivore, which included cutting out coffee. I wasn't too happy about cutting coffee, but I knew that I needed to. It was rough for a few days, but I got through it. About 3 weeks in, I decided to try drinking a bit of coffee to see how my body would react to it. I just stared at the cup for several minutes before pouring it out. The few times since that I've managed to drink any, I could only drink 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup. My body just doesn't want it. My energy level is much higher than when I was drinking coffee (though going carnivore probably helped with that).
    I do miss occasionally having something hot to drink when enjoying a beautiful morning or a quiet classroom when the students are at lunch . Again, I've tried to drink a bit of coffee when I really want a hot drink. I could try doing decaf in limited amounts on occasion, but I'm not entirely sure that it's necessarily the caffeine that my body's rejecting. I suspect it may be coffee itself or both...

I feel better than I did 10 years ago and I'm able to wear clothes that would have been too small for me in middle/high school. My energy level has improved as well. I do, now, eat some, not much, veg and find it a better balance for me. Each person is different and has to find what works best for him/her.

    The thing is if you drink decaff or drink coffee occasionally you won't feel much difference. You need to quit it for a couple month totally: no decaff, no chocolate, cacao or Coca-Cola. No black or green tea as well and you feel slip quality change.

    From what I've seen I'm not sure 30 days is enough time for many people to get back to normal. Caffeine seems to affect some people very differently.

    I know I do better overall without coffee and it's highly addictive to me. When I went keto 4 years ago then carnivore 2 years ago I just did it in one go, no easing into it, I gave up the foods all at once no cheating at all. I never managed to do the same with coffee, worse I can't even manage to stay at one cup a day I always end up at 4 before I try to reign it in and it starts all over again :/
    Part of the issue for me is that I have chronic migraines, so for one when I try to stop coffee it triggers horrible migraines, and also caffeine is known to help with chronic migraines, if I stopped coffee I would have to take medication instead and those are worse overall for my health.
    My stance on this is that if I hadn't the migraine issue I would just suffer through the withdrawal and be done with it forever.

      Are you getting enough water? Most people are dehydrated, some severely, and the health costs are dire. Getting enough water is actually quite a challenge. Good luck.

    I've been studying caffeine extensively for the last couple weeks since I'm giving it up, and apparently it can take up to three months for total withdrawal from the drug, and if you are older and have been drinking coffee for decades and can take up to a year

    I’ve been drinking since 12, to help wake up for school. I’ve taken breaks here and there, but I’ve recently decided to wean off and stop completely. My daily intake was probably somewhere near 1,200 mg/day or so. It’s truly a drug, that is just socially accepted and not thought of as such. Coffee companies don’t have to disclose caffeine content, and serving sizes are typically misrepresented. As in 5-6 oz is considered a “cup” of coffee by research standards (usually funded or supported by biased companies such as Coca Cola, etc.) when MOST people I know get a “cup” of coffee from Starbucks. This “cup” is 20 oz, and probably somewhere between 320-460 mg caffeine, which is already over the established health recommendation of daily use. I’m reading a book called “Caffeine Blues”, which is helping to keep my journey away from 18 year of daily coffee consumption afloat. Because I’ve kicked plenty of bad habits, and this is definitely a difficult one. Thanks for the video!

    So funny! I had no idea you quit coffee. I just quit about 2 weeks ago, so that video obviously speaks to me. I was at a point where I had up to 7 large cups of black coffee a day and the last time I tried to quit, the withdrawal symptoms were so bad, that I didn't make it through and started to have coffee again. But this time I made it! And the reason I quit was, just like you, that I didn't want to be reliant on a substance. I just quit smoking 1 month ago too, so I figured, that coffee had to be next 😊 and just like you, I also don't notice any difference in my energy levels!

    I had a really bad stomach problem, especially bloated for hours at night after dinner. Sometimes it affected my rest bcos of the bloated condition was truly uncomfortable. Btw, I have a coffee business, owned a cafe. Definitely quitting or living without coffee it’s not my option at all. But I didn’t realise it was coffee! I tried the remedy, like ginger to release bloated tummy, and pro biotic. Definitely it helps me a lot. But problem it’s that, I didn’t really look at real cause, until one day, I stopped having coffee by accident, and that day, my tummy was fine, and I could get my rest. And then I continued, I found out, it’s not what I ate, the culprit was coffee all these time by having multiple cups. So pretty I’m not going back for coffee for awhile until I heal my tummy.

    I was an avid coffee and tea drinker when I was in my 20’s and early 30’s. Then I got pregnant and quit abruptly. For 2 weeks I suffered withdrawal symptoms. I had a continuous headache for 2 weeks and then it went away. Omg, I realized that I had been addicted to caffeine. After the pregnancy I restricted my coffee and tea intake to 2 cups per day for each. As a senior, I have further reduced it to 1 cup of coffee and 1 cup of tea per day. I drink mostly water now. I think I like the taste of dairy and sugar in the coffee and tea. Without sugar tea is less appealing but drinkable with milk alone. I would give up coffee if I had to drink it black.

    I believe there’s a time and a place for coffee as well as marijuana But. I think the benefits of both not always but mostly are only when taken up the back side for cleanse and disease control and cure. Great insight on coffee consumption btw! It’s been over 11 years since I’ve had any. I honestly never felt an increase in energy either. Made me pretty jittery/shaky. But no extra energy

    I've never really ever got that "caffeine buzz" people attribute to drinking coffee...I've just always loved the taste...became a morning ritual of sorts. in saying that id happily have what some would consider a strong cup of coffee and go to sleep 😆 I've not really noticed any sorts of negative effects...mabey because I've never noticed any issue with sleep (around 8-9hrs)

    I believe that the reason people think coffee/caffeine is a stimulant is because of the placebo effect or because of cultural bias. Coffee stimulates dopamine which makes you tired, lethargic and mentally hazy. This research is a little slow to emerge, to say the least.

    I used to drink Coffee at times mine was always a double double lol. The ice caps were good but my favorite in the summer was the frozen lemonade. I moved back to Florida 4 years ago and miss Tim Hortons so much.

    I'm a fibromyalgia patient who doesn't drink coffee everyday, but the days I do I only have 1 cup per day and it really does help me during my most fatigued days. Is coffee good or bad, I'd say it's not exclusively either. It varies from one person to the next, though I think moderation is the key.

    while I still do other plant drugs, I quit coffee for a month as well. I have experienced the same thing as you. Unfocused on it, and unfocused while not using it =). Also did drink one cup of coffee and it didnt hit me, it was not like how it used to wire me. I think coffee is only beneficial before exercises, as there is a research on it increasing exercise depended testosterone. Before reading about this, I observed this effect. To be it was not even subtle. I used to compare other stimulants with coffee before exercise. And nothing would even come close. I am sure there must be multiple mechanisms in action for such an effect. But that was an effect that I really appreciated. Even though I used to really enjoy drinking strong coffee, coffee's addictive properties are unpleasant and worth quitting it.

    Hi kait, here is my experience with coffee, I'll have two or three cups per week no more, it is when I want to extend my intermittent fasting till 2 or 3 in the afternoon ( So I will have it at noon). The other good thing that it does to me is that it put me in a good mood for at least an hour. I don't feel much more energised but I feel great, like I am really positive, that's what coffee does to me :)

    For me it was pre-workout. Started out just a few days a week before the gym, then it became most days, then to the point I couldn't go without it... Then to the point I was dry scooping it in the car for long car drives. I've been off it over a month now, took a few weeks to not have that "pull" to it anymore. Feel so much better now. May or may not go back to it at some point if I feel I can control myself

    I feel better without drinking caffeine everyday! My stomach was not very happy about coffee. Usually I treat myself with coffee once week and I add some milk, butter and honey 😍 Now, I don't even crave coffee anymore.

    I just stopped drinking caffeine because of where I am with my anxiety now. When I start feeling better I might start again but for now I’m just doing non caffeinated tea. I still have to have something warm to start my mornings with.

    So I’m definitely coffee addicted , I give it up every year for lent and then a couple months will pass and then I start again forgetting that I just went through that whole withdrawal phase... it’s hard coffee is a social thing for me .. and I genuinely love the smell and taste ❤️

    I have Barrett’s esophagus. Will switching to decaf be better than caffeinated? I heard that caffeine relaxes the sphincter and allows acid back into the throat. I have been drinking coffee for over 40 years and afraid it has finally caught up with me. Any advice would be appreciated,

    Took a 2 month coffee break and it was nice. But the benifits of it for someone like my self with severe ADHD can be so nice. I don’t take any ADHD medicine, so coffee sort of works in its place. But I am planning to quit for a while once again. I get reliant. I think taking breaks from it occasionally and resetting tolerance is a good practice. Moderation is the big goal

    I just drank my second for today. After watching this video and scanning through the comments, I feel like giving it a try. I drink coffee because I love the way it tastes, smells, and for the sugar that I add to it. However, I feel that it does no good to me and I am becoming more and more reliant on it. I am quitting it from today and will be back after 30 days to tell you the difference. Wish me luck :D

      Thank you for this video. I completed the 30th day without coffee today and I am not going back. My experience: First 5 - 7 days felt quite tired, useless and I could not focus at all. Luckily, I had no headaches or any kind of pain. In the first two weeks, I missed the warmth, smell and taste of the coffee early in the morning and after having lunch, though. I was determined and I did not give in. I had to drink black tea with milk on a total of 3 occasions since I was visiting my friends and there was no other option. Other than that 0 caffeine intake in the past 30 days. I have not experienced any drastic changes but I feel proud of myself that I stuck to the plan. The dependency on Coffee is gone. Also, I feel less anxious and that feeling of having to drink coffee every time I feel stressed is gone. I usually felt overwhelmed by the tasks that needed to be taken care of but I fell less of it after quitting coffee. I hope the changes/benefits are more visible in the coming days. Will update after 30 days 🙂

    I drink one cup off organic coffee in the morning with 2 creams. I don't sleep well anymore so I believe the caffeine is the culprit. I also feel tired in the afternoon. I'll try organic decaf instead and see if my sleep improves. If it doesn't, then coffee including all forms of caffeine will have to go.

    I used to drink 3cups a day to stay energetic and awake. After a long time 3 cups werent enough. I got headache like im having withdrawal or something. Then i Need 4 cups(2 cups in the morning) to fix the headache and to stay awake and energetic like how i used to with 3 cups. And it went on and on until its almost 7 cups per day. I cant and i dont want to be dependent with caffeine to be normal, to be me. So i quit cold turkey. 3 days of crippling headache, unmotivated, tiredness, increase appetite, lower body pains from buttock to my calf, woke up groggy and moody. I pushed trough it. Slowly until day 6 im back to Normal. I didnt have this sense of urgency then i got from coffee, im calmer and less jittery. No more heart pounding moment even on small things. Im not going back to caffeine ( coffee tea or chocolate) ever

    I used to drink 3-4 10 oz cups every day. When I lost 45 pounds on keto, I couldn't tolerate it anymore, not even one cup! It triggers horrible anxiety and panic attacks every time I drink it so I stay away from it. I sleep much better and the anxiety is barely there.

    I've always liked the taste of coffee, but I noticed too much of it made me irritable and jittery. What I didn't know was how it affected my urinary tract. I thought I had prostate cancer, bladder cancer, or goodness knows what because I always had the feeling to urinate and had a pressure feeling in my lower abdomen, then I hardly even had any output. I quit coffee and all those problems completely disappeared. That was enough for me to stay away from it forever. I feel so much better now. I think coffee causes a lot more problems than people realize.

    Caffeine prevents cell absorption,so excessive coffee consumption prevents nutrients; I love coffee as a matter of fact just like smokes in moderation may have benefited by reducing stress; sadly inflammation can be linked to excessive coffee , with inflammation cause digestive issues

    While doing extending fast and your only "pleasure" is your cup of coffee in the morning, there is no way I am cutting my Tim original bland. I have done of withdrawal, but I always got back to it, coffee is quite a social drink. My withdrawal syndroms tend to last 3 days, I feel just terrible on the 3rd day and having massive headache, but omg on the 4th day, I feel like being reborn.

    I can’t even drink decaf at night... it will keep me up late. regular coffee in am gives me bad anxiety that I even get paranoid, so I gave it up a while ago.. I love the taste though.. decaf for me in AM only.. it’s good to understand your body and what you need and don’t need for health and well being.

      Nothing significant! I never drank it after noon really anyways. To me, decaf tastes just as good and allows me to enjoy the routine without the negatives of caffienated 🙂

    Coffee gives me patience with kids and coworkers, and addressed the lack of sleep that infants and young kids injected into my workday. When I took tests with and without coffee, my scores go up on coffee.
