Eh, I was fine with traumatizing Alistar. I made him king after all. Surely nothing bad will ever come from having the first born of the new king be a child with the soul of an Old God, who was then subsequently raised far away from his father and the kingdom on the whole by a witch who in turn was raised away from civilization for most of her life. @@Gamer3427 Morrigan turned out fine! Killed her creepy mom, saved the world, and brought a potential cataclysmic god time bomb into being. Perfectly normal and well adjusted. Saving the world was a bit odd, but hey as a female blood mage who tried unsuccessfully to romance her in the first game, who am I to judge?

I also found it strange in Indigo Prophecy that they basically sacrificed a child and no one seemed to care. A creepy child, sure, but still...
There's a lot about Indigo Prophecy that doesn't make sense. Like why a cop who's been chasing a murderer, suddenly decides to jump his joints the very second she meets him in person, despite declaring that he feels "like ice", since, you know... he's an animated corpse.
@@rosskwolfe Yeah, and how about all your choices matter but if you didn't chose certain things they would still happen. Like the cop's partner is supposed to leave the city with his girlfriend, but I had him refuse because I figured he'd want to stay behind and solve the mystery and not want to leave his partner. So he stayed behind! But...we never see him again in the game.

The first creepy child which came into my head was Malo from Zelda Twilight Princess. His lifeless stare and uncanny adult attitude shakes you to the core.
For those who don't know the Kokiri girl has the saw because it was Gado's, he's infact the son of the carpenter in Kakariko village and refused to take part in the family trade.

All video game children exist of a scale from creepy to annoying. I don't know who decided this, but someone clearly has. I mean look at them!

Paolo from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade was not only cute, but he was clever enough to build a rube goldberg style contraption that worked the very first time it was tested AND he told you where the best places to fish were at different times of the year. Pretty good if you ask me.
Children are like tiny drunk Adults. Uncoordinated, cry randomly, dance like crazy, and say whatever is on their mind.

Kieran, Morrigan's son, is voiced by the son of Claudia Black, who voices Morrigan. It's pretty cool her son was included! And it's worth noting that Kieran doesn't have to be an old god baby, he could just be as regular a kid as he can be while still having Morrigan for a mother.
Also , you dont know nothing about creepy kids until you have played Rule of Rose!!!

I think the kids in Rule of Rose are SUPPOSED to be creepy. The devs wanted players to hate and pity them, so that the Protagonist's later actions have more impact.
I immediately thought of Cooke & Mack from The Lost Odyssey when I saw this title. I speak specifically of the scene when they sing a "soothing" song to calm their deranged mother...*shudders*

Also, the player character in Pokemon, especially from Sun/Moon onwards, the dead eye, smiling face of the character even when others are in serious moments is definitely creepy/ridiculous.

@@patrickmccurry1563 That's incorrect, children develop empathy by ages 7-8 I think roughly if I correctly remember from Psychology. Social Skills are ever learning process, we are constantly learning and developing them as society changes.

@@MrDudeshutup123 Kids usually develop moderate amounts of empathy by that age. But not all, and not to an effective degree. Empathy is in some ways more harmful than good when one lacks the ability to understand context.

Speaking of Undertale, Frisk was also hinted to have tried to committed suicide by going to the mountain but also, why not Chara? The child is literally rumored to have wanted to kill everything that can be killed while always having that blushing smile. P.S: Chara also posses an actual knife that can kill most things in one hit and somewhat of a magic locket that gives an unusual high damage resistance in their room.

Nice list! What about the kids from Deadly Premonition Director's Cut? I mean, if there's anything more terrifying than the creatures and people in general, it's them. The smiling, the laughing, the way they move and talk.. Seriously, the only thing more horrifying in this game is the driving experience.

What about every single child in the Fable series? With the game's art style and graphics creating a world of giant handed mutant doll people, combined with the thickest cockney accents ever spoke, the children of the universe are truly more terrifying than even the Hobbes they become.

Malo from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess just always sketched me out. All of the things Nintendo tried to make dark and scary didn't phase me, but the half-pint with a giant baby head, creepy expression, and adult-level business acumen will forever haunt me.

This is exactly what I was going to say.
Another thing about Fado: Every Kokiri in the game has a draw distance, beyond which point their model will turn invisible. This is unique to the Kokiri, no other NPCs in the game do this (likely because all of Kokiri Forest is loaded as a whole rather than in cells to hide loading, as with other areas). However, Fado does not do this, instead having the draw distance of non-Kokiri NPCs.
In-universe there's a canonical basis for this mechanic, that the Kokiri can turn invisible at a distance (since they are basically defenseless children for their entire lives, so having a way to avoid dangers is beneficial). So even in the universe of the game Fado not turning invisible is weird.
All I can think of is Greg's comment about the Mick and Ralph kid crier from Fallout New Vegas. "Y'know when people die, they'd like to go out really cool or something. But I know when I die, it'll just be him there, saying 'If it can be bought, it can be found at Mick and Ralph's!"

I am forever wanting to drop kick those little suckers into an ocean. Like, I adopt them because I feel bad. And then they creep me the FRICK out so I start avoiding whatever town they're in and then I have to go back for some reason and then they guilt me and my spouse leaves and I am the worst parent. All because those children are stalkers and horrifying.

Difficult to get hold of in the UK, but the children in Rule of Rose were definitely the creepiest for me. The fact that [spoiler] their identity is all mixed up with the spooky imps that you have to battle makes it even scarier.
