Great video. One caveat: Towing 3000 lbs is with trailer equipped brakes only. No mention of whether there are factory- installed OEM existing plug-in wiring connections for the trailer hitch / brake controller.
Just purchased a 2024 Forester Wilderness. The 2025 looks like a first gen Ford Explorer, no where near the Subaru “look” that has made them famous. Some reservations, the Outback has more comfortable front seats with the thigh support extension and the 2025 model has gone back to a more standard and reliable thermostat. Have not taken a trip yet but the seats are comfortable but the thigh support would be appreciated.
I am picking my Subaru Wilderness 2024 up tomorrow and wish it had AC seats - Alabama gets HOT in the spring, summer and fall. I can live without heated seats in the winter. I will miss having a CD player too.
Going to try to get a 2024 wilderness this coming year. The motivation is the 2025 model. They took a decent looking suv with nice curves and made it extra vanilla in 2025.
Ditto, the question I have is how long will the 2024's be available before the 2025's come out. In the 2025 I don't care for that big screen and fewer hands on knobs. Lastly, since Toyota has some ownership in Subaru I wonder how much influence they have in the new 2025 design process?
I traded my 2021 Forester Touring in for a 2023 Forester Wilderness. Both are wonderful cars, but the Wilderness is phenomenal! If you don't mind giving up some mpg's the Wilderness IS the Forester to buy!
I’ve been looking into a crossover to outfit for camping trips, I’ve never owned a Subaru and while they all look great, the Forester in this grey color is definitely my favorite by far. I appreciate that it comes with a 12v outlet in the back because I do bring an IceCo fridge/freezer for longer trips if I’m car camping. Overall a great looking vehicle and I personally don’t see the need to change the aesthetics of it for the new model year.
Shame that CD player isn't available in 2024 MY. There are a lot of people which don't want to swap their car in mulimedia station. Great review as alwways. Greetings
I figured my 23 will have to last me the rest of my life. I hate the 8" information screen without it getting bigger. Don't think it will happen though, 31,000+ miles in a year.
I was debating between the 2024 Wilderness and the 2025 Sport. Your video helped me to decide to go with the Wilderness. I like buttons also. Don't like the fact that if something goes wrong on 2025 screen your in trouble. I got one exactly like the one you tested minus the mud flaps. The Skid plate that comes with it is kinda sad. That little skid plate at the front is a joke. I will probably go for an aftermarket plate set. Thanks for the great video.
@@highlanderNC-mr8fe sorry, I’m actually on the same boat, the only difference I can see is the height difference between both vehicles and tires, outside of that I really don’t know if engine and what not is the same. I found a touring? Or sport where I live that has a 2.5 turbo engine and that took me by surprise as I have yet to find something like that online. Do you have any more info on the differences between the 2?
They should due away with the lane center. I've came to turn lanes and all of a sudden your car is swerving all over the road looking for the center again.
Nice video! A question though. Is there somewhere to stow the back cargo shade if you want to haul something a little bit taller than the wheel wells? Seems like that would be a useful thing rather than having to take it completely out of the vehicle and then reinstalling when needed?
Good job! thank you for mentioning no more cd player for2024 only reviewer to mention that.I want to add wilderness comes with extra transmission cooler and larger radiator moter for cooling.
i just got a 2025 outback wilderness i upgraded from a 2019 premium. i took it on a muddy red clay road and it performed well. i only went halfway done that road in my 2019 and it was scary. it's on my youtube page
We bought a 2024 Forester Wilderness in May. I like the seat material because I frequently mountain bike and kayak and the seat is easy to clean off after driving with wet or dirty shorts. We can drive right down to launch kayaks at low tide or go off road with confidence. Also the 4-10 rear end ratio gives it better pickup than our 2023 Outback Limited. Looking forward to driving in the snow during ski season.
How do you think other people test driving it drive? Sorry to burst your bubble, but people want to feel the beans on the vehicle they are potentially purchasing..
Oh I'm very aware ... Just grinding your gears and driving your engagement numbers up :) Very thorough review 👍 What would you recommend between this or the limited trim?
So many of these coke-addled Subaru review videos. Not sure why the video format became the norm... were old-style auto reviews too sedate for this generation?
I traded by outback onyx for a forester wilderness. Love it ❤!2024
Great job, I don’t think that you missed one feature. As someone who is having one delivered to me, I appreciate the thoroughness of your overview.
Thanks for an excellent video I bought a Wilderness Subaru just last week
Wow. best sound quality in a video for the stereo system I've seen so far. Sounded great!
best car review hands down - wow - picking up ours this weekend
Great video. One caveat: Towing 3000 lbs is with trailer equipped brakes only. No mention of whether there are factory- installed OEM existing plug-in wiring connections for the trailer hitch / brake controller.
The car comes with only yhe lighting adapter (for brake lights and reverse) the 4 way pin. Not a 7 pin.
Thanks for this EXCELLENT review! Just got ours on Friday and we are still learning how to use all the bells and whistles!
Thank you I appreciate your video. I am trying to decide if I should by 2024 wilderness
From what I read they aren’t planing on releasing this version as a 2025 model but instead wait until 2026 for the new upgrade
Most thorough new car video I have seen. Thank you!
This was helpful. We just bought a 2024 wilderness and are trying to figure out all of the bells and whistles.
I think your review is the Best one I've have seen ......nise job !!!!!!

Great review of the car that I drive! You liked the pep and you didn't even have it in Sport Sharp mode!!!
picked up mine in this exact color. one of the turn offs about outback for me was the giant screen.
I am picking my Subaru Wilderness 2024 up tomorrow and wish it had AC seats - Alabama gets HOT in the spring, summer and fall. I can live without heated seats in the winter. I will miss having a CD player too.
Yea, that’s the one thing I really wanted and didn’t get in this vehicle
Going to try to get a 2024 wilderness this coming year. The motivation is the 2025 model. They took a decent looking suv with nice curves and made it extra vanilla in 2025.
Lol
lol , yeah the exact reason why I'm going for a 2024 soon but I wish they had led rear turn sig
Same here. I'm not diggin' the new body style. Too bland.
2025 subaru forester looks like a Ford escape, no more unique style of forester that is way I put deposit on my forester wilderness 2 days ago.

If I had moneys, I’d get this

Still Available on the highest trim level. I looked it up
Great review! Very detailed. I’m trying to decide between the Forester and Outback Wilderness. I think I prefer the Forester.
For me - I prefer the Outback Wilderness. More power and I like how it sits. I have a video of one of those too
Insane new Subaru Forester SUV I can own.
I rushed to get a 2024 of the color I wanted. OMG that obnoxiously large infotainment screen is now gonna plaque the Forester too in 2025 ugh.
I figured my 23 will have to last me the rest of my life. I hate the 8" information screen without it getting bigger. Don't think it will happen though, 31,000+ miles in a year.
Very useful, I just got one and love it!

There’s no 2025 wilderness, they will release it in 2026
@@DaFonse-l6o Like I said "I was debating between the 2024 Wilderness and the 2025 sport".

Only Subaru would make the Wilderness with NO HEATED STEERING WHEEL. Come on Subaru .
@RM it is heated in Canada
Deal killer for me. I like my heated seats and steering wheel.
We have heated steering wheel in Canada
I have a 24 Outback Wilderness and it has a heated steering wheel. Heated front and rear seats.
hmmm...
I noticed Honda does the same thing. Why does the Canadian market get the heated steering wheel... but not the USA market?
They changed the foot pedals as well
I have a 2022 Wilderness. Incredible car. 2024 Crosstrek Premium cant compare
Does the Subaru Forester Wilderness have a pandemic moonroof❓
Another well done program. Peace.
Thank you Michael!

Hmm. Maybe in the 2nd row on the floor
you can store it in the same area as the spare
There’s a cutout for it underneath the floorboard in the trunk, it goes on top of the spare
Yes. I did.

That makes sense.. haha no problem
Haven’t seen any reviews with the hitch installed. Is there an option to get a frame bolted hitch?
@@stephenvancampen7393 Yeppers! We have one on the way with the towing hitch installed on it.
great video!
The 24 Forester Dropped 2 horsepower, so it’s Down to a Gutless 180.
Amazing review bro.
Thanks man 👊🏼
Unfortunately the Canadian Subaru wilderness come with steering wheel heaters !
Can I come from the USA and buy in Canada. I want the heated steering wheel.

Do you think 2024 having physical knobs will lose value more? Also it makes no sense they don't do heated steering wheel for the wilderness smh
Brand new engine. Subaru owners manual: "Do not go over 4000rpm for the first 1000 miles break in period". Reviewer: revs to 6000...

What would you recommend between this or the limited trim?
X-Mode has nothing to do with torque vectoring.
A rig with no heated seats and steering wheel won't b parked in my garage.
May, you are a tough customer.
I have a 2023. I wish you could permanently shut off the f-ing RAB it's a real pain shutting it off Everytime you back up.
Will the roof support an 800 pound Gorilla?
Lol.. If that’s what you put up there, yes, in theory it should
Gorilla yes,but your Girlfriend will bend it
static
…electricity
Why do so many of these videos start with the same, obnoxious "Whats up TH-cam" said in the exact same used-car salesman voice?
