I live in California's El Dorado National Forest. I've seen alot of wild animals. A few weeks ago I stepped outside my front door and accidentally came within 10 feet of a wild mountain lion. I haven't seen any bear yet, but my neighbors have.
I remember a presentation at our school given by a wildlife expert. He said one way to tell the difference between an alligator and a croc was stick your leg in the water. If it shies away it's an alligator. If it bites your leg off it's a croc.😂
A grizzly bear is a brown bear. They are also known as inland bears. Alaska has ( in order of size) polar bears, coastal brown bears, grizzly bear, and black bears.
We really don't worry about gators too much here in Georgia. I have been swimming in rivers and ponds my whole life, never once had a gator act aggresively towards me. That being said, you have to use common sense. If you see a line of bubbles in the water, you stay away.
Alligators are not found north of the fall line. They are all in the southern half of the state. You are right about them not being very aggressive. They'll normally leave you alone on land or if in a boat, but I would not get into the water with them, nor would I get too close, either.
NY State is huge. From NYC to the Canadian border is at least 5 hours by car. It can be about 8 hours or more depending on the drive starting point and traffic. It's about 500 miles or 759 KM from NYC. I used to do this drive several times a year during my years at college--which was a few miles south of the US-Canada border. Doing this drive in Winter was an adventure due to the extremely blow zero temperatures and mega snowstorms with many feet of snow.
I live in Alaska and have lived on the north slope for years. Polar bear are known to actively stalk and drag people out of buildings to eat you. Our Polar bears have been mating with grizzlies for many years and the hybrid species is terrifies me. It does not hibernate like polar bears and behaves like a polar bear with the range of a Grizzly and the temperament to match. They are huge and called Grolar bears or pizzly bears. It depends on what the mom was. Google them. Plus we have black bears that are larger than the bears in other states. Edit: everything up here is massive including moose, eagles, wolves, foxes and almost every other creature here.
Hi Graham Family, James from Wyoming. Here, in addition to our grizzlies, we also have a healthy black bear population. We also have wolves, mountain lions, lynx, bobcat, and a plethora of coyotes!
Here’s something on California Bears, on the state flag is the Grizzly Bear which were so dangerous they were hunted to extinction in California on purpose
Guys the thing is, a lot of the states, like Washington. Has Black Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, Cougars, or Mountain Lions, Not to mention Moose Elk Deer . A lot of the Pacific Northwest, has all of these, and more.
Grizzlies are usually more northwestern. If there's a lot of forest you'll find a lot of blackbear. I live in Eastern Kansas, we have timber wolves. There were so many deer in our area they released Timberwolves. Never had problems with them ever.
Im in Greenwich Connecticut and every spring to mid summer and then in the late fall to mid winter in my town Black bears get seen quite a bit. A few weeks ago there was one about 250lbs. in one of my clients neighbors yards, and one of my clients who have honeybees had to put an electric fence around them because the bears kept knocking them over to get the honey. Usually they will just walk right past you and not even give you a second glance, unless you have food, then they might walk right up to you, but they are very friendly.
We encroach on the open land so they are coming into towns more and more. I live in New Jersey and one of the doctor's I worked with showed us pictures of her home with the 4 bears in her driveway. She lives in north Jersey near the mountains. Needless to say she called school and said her children woukd be late....We do also have Brown bears in NJ and a coyote summers in the woods down the street from me. I guess he likes the Jersey shore too...
The American crocodile is a salt water creature too. They swim between Florida and Cuba. So, they are in the Florida straight (the ocean) between the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico
Grizzly is a subspecies name for that type of Brown Bear. There are several variants of Brown Bear and all of them are, on average, larger than black bears. Black bears can be other colors than just black including different shades of brown and cinnamon which is a medium/light brown with a red tinge. These are still black bear despite the color variation.
Technically speaking, the largest predator in Texas is a Jaguar name El Jefe. Jaguars used to roam across southern Texas, but nearly all of them were killed. El Jefe is the only male jaguar that has been spotted in Texas since 2015. In 2024 he would be nearing the end of his life as Jaguars only live 13 years and El Jefe was estimated to be 3 years of age when first spotted.
There is a Lake here in North Central Florida that no one uses a boat or swims in .The lake is not really big but there are over thirteen thousand alligators. When the state grabs one from where they don't belong they drop them in this lake.
Da fam, I've been privileged to see a black bear and grizzly during my '84 drive from NW of Chicago up to Alaska, and back in about '05, I drove up to Manitoba, Canada, where I took a 24 hour train ride to Hudson Bay, where I went on a polar bear tour--all great experiences. Mom, polar bears are possible in Alaska, since we have coastline on the Arctic Ocean, as well as the Atlantic and Pacific. In addition to CA having beaches and sand, they also have mountains where it's possible to snow ski. In fact, in the pioneer days of the 1800s, many in a group heading west froze to death in those mtns.--the Donner Party, and back in 1960, a town on Lake Tahoe hosted the Winter Olympics. This part of the state is also home to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon N,P, Florida is the only place in the world where both alligators (fresh water) and crocodiles (salt water) are found. "Very little bears" in Kansas? Does that mean numbers or size?😅😉 You've probably already been told this in the past, but mtn. lions have 3 regional aliases--panther, catamount and puma. Re. New York, you've no doubt heard or maybe seen the movie "Miracle on Ice". This took place at the Olympics held in Lake Placid--a tiny town in Upstate NY's Adirondack Mtns. back in 1980. They extend almost to the Canadian border almost 400 mi./645km. north. Being the smallest state, RI probably doesn't have room for more than 10 bears. Brown bears aren't necessarily grizzly bears, but all grizzlies are brown bears, as well as Kodiak bears.
We live in northwest montana on the flathead indian reservation. We have pretty much everything except alligators. Montana also has the highest concentration of grizzlies in the lower 48. We have mountain lions, black bear, bobcats, coyote, wolverines, and badgers if I'm not mistaken. The only one o actually worry about is a mountain lion, they're stealthy, quick attack predators. A male lion can get up to 160 pounds, not your average run of the mill house cat. The big thing here is, if you stop seeing deer, chances are a predator of some sort is near. A few years ago, a sow grizzly killed our neighbors llama that got loose, and what made her dangerous was she had 3 cubs. But you just be cautious and most times they tend to leave people alone, and carry really good bear spray, but don't spray directly in a bears face, spray it on the ground in front of it, and let the spray drift up, it will detour them if done right. If you spray it directly in the face, it'll just get mad. Some will carry a large caliber hand gun with stopping power, but, I own a good large caliber hand gun myself. But I've never carried it with me, and no issues yet. Grizzly attacks most times will be fatal, but caution is your best defense in my opinion.
I've lived and worked in Alaska for several years. Worked above the Arctic Circle on the Chukchi Sea coast. Polar Bears will actively hunt a human and are very smart. We lived down in the Anchorage area and had Coastal Brown Bears...again dangerous but not apt to actively attack humans but will. Now the title of this is largest "predator". Now not a predator but if I had a choice between a PO'ed Bull Moose or a Brown Bear, I think I'd choose to just stay home.
Besides Polar bears, Alaska has two types of grizzly bears: The normal grizzly and the much larger Kodiak grizzly, found only on Kodiak Island, AK. People who live on Kodiak Island must take extra caution just to leave their homes due to the large population of these bears.
I’m from South Georgia and I can assure you that the high number of gators they said are there is absolutely true! On any day I could take you to any wild body of water and I guarantee you’ll see at LEAST one gator! And, yes, some people DO go into the water! Not me but some do. But I now live in the mountains of Virginia and I’ve had numerous black bears on my property and I had one on my porch one night that was 400 lbs
I spent 14 years of my life in Georgia. For 4 of those years I was a river guide. Part of my job was to clear the rivers of fallen trees so our canoes could pass through. I can personally assure you there is no shortage of alligators. However when you have a chainsaw the gators leave you alone so it's all cool.
The bears are weighed by tranquilizing them, here (Tennessee) they are put in a sling and weighed on a hanging scale, but I think some areas have platform style scales.
I laugh at this video so much because the guy in it had so much false things in it I couldn't stop laughing 😂 😂 some of it was true, Like Texas is not well known for alligators or crocodiles but we do have them if anything it would be coyotes, And the look on y'all faces every time the guy said Black Bears is priceless 🤣🤣 God bless y'all.
Grizzlies are brown bears, and they only exist in a few states in the upper mountain west (there is a large, managed habitat in a large radius around Yellowstone NP). There also are brown bears in Alaska, where they are often known as Kodiak bears. Black bears are a different species, and they are endemic in most places in the U.S. Bears are omnivores but seldom attack people, unless they perceive a threat from the person(s) to themselves or their cubs. In rare cases, Grizzlies have been known to prey on humans as an opportunistic predator, but all bears tend to avoid people unless they are habituated. When bears get used to people, it is always bad news -- most often for the bear.
Wyoming. U might see the bears mostly in the mountains wood area. But mountain loins sometime come close to human areas. Last one I heard about was outside a school area.
7:18 Louisiana deep fried alligator is very good. If you come to Texas, visit Louisiana as well. I feel like you all would love their cajon food, but beware of the spicyness 🌶️ of it.
In Washington State it is the Grizzly!🔥 they are highly endangered but we still have a few in the North Cascades and Selkirk mountains. We are often told they are not there but absolutely they are
North Carolina has 20,000 black bears and they can be found all over the state. Alligators are only found on the east coast of the state. I've had bears in my yard and seen them on hiking trails. I don't worry about them.
My cousin and her family lives in NC ,one day, their daughter said mom, there is an alligator walking around on the side yard, Hayley went ouside with her video camera and filmed the alligator and posted the video on her Facebook page and they were not told there is a river across the road that has alligators.
As a new Yorker, yes, you just think of the city, but once you get past the city, there is a lot of mountain areas. Forest areas like the Appalachian mountains. The Adirondack mountains for especially in northern New york. We've even had a couple of cougars were mountain lions being found in new york.
I remember that line on a globe looking to see where Maryland temp might line up, I hit just below the island of Hokkaido. Looking at it for EUpeans has Maryland/northern Cali around Greece/southern Italy/Turkey. Texas/Florida is Egypt. Paris would be in Canada. South of that would be Montana/North Dakota. Maryland IMO has decent weather and still the South. In Texas ~100 degrees, I need the AC. According to people talking humidity, gator country feels way hotter, enough you'd rather swim with a dinosaur. The dry heat you can feel the sun sitting on your hair. I dunno if I could take the humidity.
I just looked up what the differences between brown bears and grizzly bears, and they was kind of interesting. I found out that a grizzly bear can be identified from other brown bears because of their hump, I’m their shoulders and they’re concave head
Brown bears are Grizzly bears. And their range is quite reduced from what it was originally because they are so much more dangerous. Colorado, for example, used to have them but they were eradicated.
They mentioned Coyotes and saying the largest was about 40 lbs (about 18 kg). However, Bob Cats (a medium sized wild cat) can run up to 44 lbs (almost 20 kg). And they are in every state except 3. Having said that, I live in Nevada and most of the Coyotes where I live would push somewhere between 70 (30 kg) and 100 lbs (45 kg). There used to be a couple that walked past the house regularly (just about sunrise every morning) that were easily a 100 lbs - seems like a lot of chickens were missing out this way - lmao. Oh sure, I've seen some that are smaller coyotes, but only the ones that aren't eating too well or were younger maybe. The only things bigger would have been the mountain lions and the Black Bears - luckily they don't walk down the middle of the road like the coyotes did.
Considering the numbers of the animals in each state that was quoted in the video. The size of the state has to be taken into account. Also, there are coyotes in just about every state in America. And in some states such as California, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas, as well as a host of other states, mountain lions A.K.A. Cougars can be found. It was a very interesting video, but it didn’t tell the whole story. America has a wide variety of wild animals that can turn your happy day into one that you wished you hadn’t gotten out of bed that day. One of the most important things to remember about wild animals, don’t feed them. When people feed them they look to the rest of us as a food source. Not a good situation to be in. And some of them eat a lot. Always enjoy you videos. 🤠👍🇨🇱
Hundreds of years ago, moose and bison ran around quite a bit of throughout the land. Even here in the East Coast, until we nearly drove the bison to complete extinction. Moose just moved northward
West Virginia is known for black bears. So much so that, they have a minor league baseball team called the West Virginia Black Bears in the MLB Draft League.
What they didn’t mention the largest predator in recent times used to be the grizzly bear, they were in most of the states. But people mostly wiped them out in most states, due to how dangerous they can be
My wife was from upstate New York and I confirm those outside of New York City are fairly annoyed that everyone thinks of New York as Manhattan and skyscrapers. New York is a very big state especially for New England. There are some other cities, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, etc. but otherwise it is beautiful farmlands and wilderness. Allegany State Park is 65,000 acres and The Adirondack National Park has 6.1 million acres.
As far as I know the only animal here that is commercially farmed is the American Alligator. I think this list takes that into account and is why Louisiana has so many. I wouldn't be too scared of them but also wouldn't poke 'em with a stick.
I live in Arkansas. Not only do we have black bears and gators but a few mountain lions. Also, coyotes, elk, white tail deer, rattlesnakes and scads of wild hogs.
You talking about New York...I have lived in New York State for 49 years. I have never been to New York City and never want to go to the ckty. I live in a small town with about a thousand people. Rivers, hills and woods all around. A lot of hunting, fishing, sports and mudding with dirt bikes and trucks. A mistake many people make that have not been to our state is they just think it is the city. We have lots of lakes, woods and mountains. Their is the great Adirondack Mountains and the Finger Lakes. An can not forget the Great Lake and Niagara Falls. Beautiful land out side the city areas.
I’m from Houma Louisiana and have had to stop in the middle of the road because of alligator crossing the street. I will say that they much rather run away than deal with humans. I’ve swam in alligator waters plenty of times and never had any problems with our swamp puppies.

Black bears come in shades from reddish to black. Grizzly bears are a subspecies of Brown bear. Alligators are big, but are not usually very aggressive. They are ambush hunters & primarily eat fish, birds & small mammals. Because Polar bears are from the Arctic, where prey is hard to come by, they consider anything that moves as food.

I live in California's El Dorado National Forest. I've seen alot of wild animals. A few weeks ago I stepped outside my front door and accidentally came within 10 feet of a wild mountain lion. I haven't seen any bear yet, but my neighbors have.
Crocs and Gators are very different. Gators, in general, aren't the a-holes Crocs are. They aren't "hunting" people like Crocs will
I remember a presentation at our school given by a wildlife expert.
They are the same species, but they have their own sub species category
@@erniejones5008 A Kodiak looks different from a Grizzly.
I'm from Minnesota and we also have Timberwolves, which can get really big . We also have had sightings of mountain lions occasionally as well.
Cold climate animals are are almost always larger than warmer climate specimens of the same species, helps conserve body heat.
Mosquitos are also larger in Alaska compared to other states.
The United States of Black Bear 🤣
Hi Graham Family, James from Wyoming.
Here, in addition to our grizzlies, we also have a healthy black bear population. We also have wolves, mountain lions, lynx, bobcat, and a plethora of coyotes!
Over the last 10 years the black bears have increased in Ohio. 100 would be a very low estimate. I'm glad to see them making a come back.
Here’s something on California Bears, on the state flag is the Grizzly Bear which were so dangerous they were hunted to extinction in California on purpose
I love your videos 😊 happy to support
Guys the thing is, a lot of the states, like Washington. Has Black Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, Cougars, or Mountain Lions, Not to mention Moose Elk Deer . A lot of the Pacific Northwest, has all of these, and more.
There was a black bear found in downtown Salt Lake City, by the capitol building just 2 days ago.
I must remind mom, the state flag of California has a bear on it.😅😅
We encroach on the open land so they are coming into towns more and more.
New York state is huge. Pennsylvania is also a huge state.
Huge for the East Coast. But yeah, much bigger than people from other countries realize.
Yikes! You would think any food (fish, etc.) in that lake would be long gone with that many alligators.
Brown Bear is the GRIZZLY BEAR !
In the USA anyway - tho also some Kodiak, but they're in the same family as Grizzly.
A grizzly is a brown bear, but there are different types of brown bears.
Grizzlies, Coastal, and Kodiak.
This part of the state is also home to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon N,P,
Florida is the only place in the world where both alligators (fresh water) and crocodiles (salt water) are found.
"Very little bears" in Kansas? Does that mean numbers or size?😅😉
You've probably already been told this in the past, but mtn. lions have 3 regional aliases--panther, catamount and puma.
I was born and raised in Minnesota and I've seen many many black bears. No big deal if you leave them alone.
There are salt water crocs in the southwest part of florida
Besides Polar bears, Alaska has two types of grizzly bears: The normal grizzly and the much larger Kodiak grizzly, found only on Kodiak Island, AK. People who live on Kodiak Island must take extra caution just to leave their homes due to the large population of these bears.
The title of this video should’ve been “Black Bear”🤣🤣🤣
Alim in the upper left( nw) of alabama. 20-30 min to Tennessee and to Mississippi. We have coyotes, snakes, opposums and armadillos .😂
I'm in the northern half of Georgia. Not once will you ever see an alligator around here. They don't live in this part of the state.
I live in North Carolina and I've never seen a gator here but I did see you guessed it a Black Bear
I laugh at this video so much because the guy in it had so much
false things in it I couldn't stop laughing 😂 😂 some of it was true, Like Texas
is not well known for alligators or crocodiles but we do have them if
anything it would be coyotes, And the look on y'all faces every time the guy said Black Bears is priceless
🤣🤣 God bless y'all.
I'm from North Carolina and I'm surprised the black bear didn't win here. Never seen an alligator at all😂
The North American Brown Bear is the GRIZZLY BEAR ! 🍀
They never actually found a nile crocodile in Florida. I worked in the everglades at flamingo marina.
We are often told they are not there but absolutely they are
"How many black bears in each states" that should be the title
A grizzly bear is a subspecies of brown bear. There are brown bears in the US, but the vast majority of our brown bear population is in Alaska.
There is a crocodile species native to Florida, and it does travel in saltwater
And in some states such as California, New Mexico,
Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas, as well as a host of other states, mountain lions A.K.A.
But people mostly wiped them out in most states, due to how dangerous they can be
We have Mountain Lions/Cougars here in Kansas... not sure why they mentioned Coyotes as #2.
A Grizzley Bear is a type of Brown Bear, they're the same.
Less than 10 in Rhode Island?? Then again, Rhode Island is so small, if you eat a box of Cracker Jacks, sometimes Rhode Island falls out...😃😃😃
My wife was from upstate New York and I confirm those outside of New York City are fairly annoyed that everyone thinks of New York as Manhattan and skyscrapers. New York is a very big state especially for New England. There are some other cities, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, etc. but otherwise it is beautiful farmlands and wilderness. Allegany State Park is 65,000 acres and The Adirondack National Park has 6.1 million acres.
I would love to see a mushroom hunting video, or maybe some videos showcasing places you guys like to go in Slovakia.
As far as I know the only animal here that is commercially farmed is the American Alligator. I think this list takes that into account and is why Louisiana has so many. I wouldn't be too scared of them but also wouldn't poke 'em with a stick.
We also have mountain lions in Kansas. I've seen them. Also, there's a lynx population in Kansas.
So Illinois and Indiana does also have black bears and cougars and bobcats. The DNR says they only "travel through" might be ao.
Something to remember if you come across a bear. If it's brown, lay down. If it's black, fight back. If it's white, goodnight.
How sweet family activities
I’m from Houma Louisiana and have had to stop in the middle of the road because of alligator crossing the street. I will say that they much rather run away than deal with humans. I’ve swam in alligator waters plenty of times and never had any problems with our swamp puppies.
A brown bear is considered a Chrisley to . And I was about 60 feet away from a black bear cup.
Native to Florida is the American Croc. In my county in Florida, they have caught a 15' and 2 12' Alligator. Florida has 1.3 million Alligators. Our top 4 predators are the Alligators, American Crocodile, Black Bears and the Florida Panther (Cougar). Many states have several large predators.
Check out the Kodiak Bear a sub-species of the Grisly bear. They live on Kodiak Island in Alaska. The Polar Bear only lives in North part of Alaska. They also have Grisly and black bears.
Fort Myers, Florida here.....and Yes to salt water crocs. Rare, but yes. Alliigators are plentiful for real. One never goes near any body of water without extreme caution. A 12-15 foot gator can come up and out of the water at you in a blink of an eye. The threat is real. PS My son took a photo of a Black Bear yesterday in Northern New Jersey.
black bears are pretty chill tbh Im never really worried about them when Im out in their country
There are probably well over a million gators here in Fla.
Don't forget - California is not just Los Angeles and San Diego with beaches! Northern California is absolutely stunning with the Redwood forest and lots of green woods etc. - plenty of room for bears!! You should watch a video telling about the great State of California - the northern coastlines are breathtaking and the National Parks are amazing! New York City it a huge city that is part of New York State which is a fairly large State and it is beautiful...nothing like NYC!!
This video could be a drinking game. Black bear or not? Lol
