I appreciate you going through those 100 presets. This helps me a lot. I have this Core 1000 up against an offering from a competitor. Undecided, but narrowing it down.
That is a great video! Thank you for that. I do not understand why the presets are not in a logical order. I mean, instead of putting all the distortion presets together (let's say from 1 to 25 for example) and all the ambient presets (26 to 50) and all the acoustic presets from 50 to 60 and so on... they are all over the place. That does not make sense to me. Would be more user-friendly to pack the similar ones together. Is it easy to assign them different places?
I love mine. But I will say that running it line out to a standard speaker/monitors sounds a lot more like a physical setup with the upper highs rolled off on the global EQ.
Glen I’m frustrated. Just got my GT1000 and it doesn’t come close to sounding that good. I even ordered a FRFR speaker to try to no avail. I’ve tried different output settings. Tried my tub amp. Tried my analog amp. Tried my PA. Tried recording into Reaper. How about a video on setting this thing up? Please?
Mark it is really a good unit. I'm pretty sure i can help you with the settings if you contact me. By default the settings are not good I agree. There are certain things you need to get set up.
Been looking for someone to demo the presets, THANKS. Do you know what the BPM display refers to? Is it the beats per minute for the metronome (when activated)?
Great review, covers this machine's abilities from A to Z, but to be honest...in terms of the sounds it offers?...50% of the presets sound identical,at least all those overdrive/distortion/chorus ones.
Hiya Glenn, I was wondering, this goes for the Helix too. Is there any rhyme or reason to the order of the preset patches? Doesn't seem like it..And , if not, why not? lol Nice playing as always...
I've looked through the manual online and cannot find the answer to my question, so maybe what I'm asking here is not possible. However, I thought I would ask here for anyone that knows the unit well enough to know for sure. I'd like to program one button/switch to activate 2 events at once. The events would be 1) amp channel switch and 2) patch change. Basically all I want to do is switch from a rhythm tone patch to a lead tone patch and have my amp also switch channels when going back and forth. I'm guessing IF this is possible, it would need to be done using 'MEMORY Mode'. Patch +1 (up) would also need to trigger the Amp Control channel switch function, OR could the patch itself execute this when it loads? I'm trying to switch my amp channel AND (Up) +1 User Patch with only ONE action. Then, the same when executing (Down) -1 User Patch with an Amp Channel switch. Thanks in advance to anyone with answers.
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial one of my Marshall heads has MIDI capable channel switching, however my other tube heads do not. I want to use the amp channel switching control from the 1/4" TRS jacks on the GT1K. From my understanding now, after some research, is that the buttons/switches on the GT1K do not actually activate the event. The amp channel switch would be integrated into a patch. If this is correct, then it will work how I want it to work. All I will need to do is: 1) program both patches with the amp channel switch event, this way it will trigger going back and forth, as all I really need is two main patches, one for rhythm and one for lead. Am I wrong here?
In theory that would work but there are always some amps that the switching does not work on. You could do the MIDI to the head that has MIDI and use the Amp Channel switch to the one that does not have MIDI.
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial the MIDI controlled head (jvm410h) is out of the question, as i only use that one at home and studio (for now) and it has it's own controller. My other 2 identical heads (jcm2000 dsl100) that i use live (1 for backup) have the TS latching type of channel switching system, as i've recently found out researching. i'll just need to experiment until i get it right. the GT1K has ON/OFF parameters for the Amp Ctrl function for latching that can be changed for individual patches without the need for dedicating a separate button for that function.
IMO the thing that sets BOSS stuff apart from the rest is 32bit/96khz audio. I have the RV500 and the difference between 24bit reverb and 32bit reverb is astounding. It's almost like analog. I'm almost sold on this thing. I just need to justify buying it. Will I ever use it? I already have a ton of crap that I don't use. I promise I'll send it back if I don't use it!!

Hey Thanks mate I appreciate you filming all of this for us mere mortals ,you're a great player too btw!
Best demo I’ve heard in a long time. Great playing Glenn. And the Boss unit is Aces!
Nice work! Best review on the web! Thanks for putting this together.

Sounds more real than HX
They both sound about the same to me. Some of the amps on the core suck.
This BOSS unit has some of the BEST factory presets of all the Units.

you can contact me through facebook
I'd stay with the GT1000 cus the screen is too small on this version with my site impairment
Hey Glenn, I have always enjoyed your videos. Question, will your Boss GT 100 and Boss GT 1000 patches work with the new GT 1000 Core?
Thanks, Jason
The GT-1000 ones do but not the GT-100 ones.

Very very useful.
Great video. !
And you have like 7 less foot switches? Right?
Preset “026”, Simple Tweed 87? or 57 ?...
is this unit with bluetoooth ?

Are you able to tweak the presets and EQ etc...?

Why no matter what Boss Effects Sound the Same since 1970? Nothing new or even different.
How does the amp tones in feel and sound compares to the hxstomp/helix?
it's about the same I think. they both feel very good.
Sounds great
Great tones! What kind of PRS are you using the SE? 👍
Thank you. That's a Custom P24 10 Top. It's got the Piezo bridge in it. Don't use it here though but it sounds pretty good.
Great demo!

Hi Vince, it may be possible but not in the way you are thinking to do it. What amp do you have? Does it have MIDI?

Is there a way to play both guitar and external audio (such as from iPod) through this?
Yes, You should be able to do that by connecting the ipod to one of the FX Returns. You'll need an adapter though 1/8in mini to 1/4in.
