Yeah, Me too, I'm also a Mac user. My consideration when I wanted to buy my first mechanical keyboard was about compatibility with Mac, then finally I decided to buy Keychron K6, very good product with many useful features for beginners and as a learning medium to find out more deeper about this hobby.
The only thing I cannot understand about Keychron is why they insist on not producing see-through keycaps. By doing this, they reduce the lighting effect (I prefer working/playing in a semi dark room) and their south facing leds do not help to choose after market keycaps.
one thing to point out. keychron q series boards brings out your switches real sound profile. I own a Q1 with KTT roses, the Q1 brought out the real clack from these switches. I previously had these loaded on a tray mount + steel plate TKL but the sound was very stiff.
What i hate about them is the high shipping cost (30$), but this is location dependant. Since in my case they ship from China I also end up paying VAT (not sure about this one) but also customs and processing taxes, so that is problematic. Vendors which ship to my country (Eastern Europe) also are limited and usually end up adding quite a commision on top.
hello! noob here with a stock q6. when doing force break mod, what tape did you use? does it remove the pinging completely? also, any tips on dampening the spacebar?
force break mod I use leukoplast tape. Electric tape will work as well. Not completely but significantly spacebar, check out my jelly tape mod tutorial. then for the Q series, you can try doing a rolled PE foam on the lowercase. it's in my Q1 modding video as well
Hi, does Keychron make shine-throughs for the Q6 full-size RGB line? I use K10 full size with shine throughs, but these keycaps are, well, filmsy and short. Thanks for your time.
Went with the Varmilo instead as it was on sale. But yeah if I get more in depth into mech keyboards might reconsider the Q6 instead. Not sure about all the lube foam and tape mods but yeah switch wise would go with my preferred Kalih Owl White switches!
this hobby is all about personal preference at the end of the day. Whatever makes you happy go for it :) I really enjoy them with or without all those mods :)
yea Q series is good after you mod , but only for A-Z keys , those side buttons still full pings ... i have seens a lot of my friend has this problem no matter what mod they are using
@@ThockyDocKey yea i modded Q3 from my friend , first time with 2 layers of masking tape , later with 4 layers of silicone tape still has the same problem, in the end put a thick eva foam inside can eliminate but loses all the flex , after i saw their problem i lost hope on Q series and go with V series , way way better and it doesn't need any foam since if you put tape mod and pe foam will mute all the sounds regardless what kind of switch you're using.
@@user-qn1zj5bs5p That is really preference what you are talking about Q series has an unique sound to it and lots of metal from the housing. V series does not for that matter.
Something that I don't understand about these keyboard reviews, why are you modding them and then presenting us the review, when the keyboard should be tested as stock first, then you can show us how much mods improve it.
Ive done a lot of stock sound test and reviews of the keychron q series. Thus i went straight ahead to modding this one because its pretty much the same

Q6 is great hardly any modding needed really sounds great already without anything.
you can actually just go with forcebreak on the Q series and that would be enough

I actually just ordered a Q6 barebones today. After trying out the 98% Mod003 I could not get used to it. Full size is still best for me.

Have the Keychron C2 Full Size and modded it heavily. Now i would buy the Q6. Use it on the Vampire V4 Sfandalone.
Thank you for sharing the video. Would you recommend swapping the aluminum plate that comes stock with the Q6 to PC or FR4 for a more thocky sound?

Have you tried doing all around force break? My first modded q1 did not have pinging if I remember correctly. I dfid a dual force break mod

Keychrons customer service is terrible.
