Lavender’Phenomenal’ lives through the winter, not only in South Carolina, but also in Colorado according to Bree at Regenerative Gardener. In winter it has attractive gray stems so it’s great to plant around a patio. I also like cinnamon basil to ward off mosquitoes. If there is a mosquito in the neighborhood, it will find my husband.
I do pots like this every single year! I usually do lemon balm, citronella, & lemongrass in a pot together, * everytime I go outside I take leaved from the citronella, the lemongrass, & then get some eucalyptus from my cutflower farm area, & crunch the leaves all up, then rub them all over my arms & legs. & I don't love them chemicals that bug spray has.
I hate the feeling of bug spray on my skin, & I think this works pretty well!
The baby marigolds are the cutest thing ever!
I’m over wintering my lemon grass this year and so far so good.

Love how vibrant and colorful the baskets and plants in the nursery look. Do have to warn you …. Lemongrass and Citronella get hugely wide and tall. Might probably dwarf the marigold and the oregano. Good luck!
Yes they do get quite large! I mention that a bit later in the video. It will be a jungle!

Glad the mosquito repellant plants work for some people. They never work for me -- even when I rub the leaves on me -- those pesky devils just love me.

Without touching citronella itself doesn't really work... You have to touch the plant and then essential oils repel mosquitoes 😊

I have my citronella oil and defuse it at home with vapor defuser 😊 it. Works 😊

What a fun container no idea there was an option to make a mosquito planter. Live in Minnesota zone 4 we are the mosquito capital I’m on it.
Did you decide not to use the Lavender? Yes we did get 20 inches of snow here in Maine. Its terrible.

We live in RI where it’s been very cold but tons of rain. We’ve already had skeeters and ticks. They don’t go away in winter any more.
Great combo and some of it is edible! You wanted to do table top planters, but did they have bottoms to catch the water from going all over the table? A lot of pots don’t come with bottom now.

We got 10 inches of snow in Northern Wisconsin but it will be melting pretty quickly here too ❤️
