Hey guys as a lifelong suffering Miami dolphins fan I am not a tua believer he's always injured he comes up short in the biggest moments against good teams at the end of the season he shrinks and freezes in cold weather. Before Hill got there the Dolphins were getting ready to take the hatchet to Tua.Basicly Hill saved his neck.
Herbert got signed in July and Burrow in September. Tua gets signed pretty soon and that's all there is to it. All the debate over him is moot, that's Miami's guy period.

The situation is such a debacle. The dolphins have shot themselves in the foot by refusing to draft any other quarterback. It doesn't even have to be a first or second round quarterback but any quarterback just to groom and have ready. Pittsburgh. Does it, Baltimore? Does it, San Francisco? Does it, as well as Green Bay. Consistent franchises. None of these quarterbacks are worth that type of money and it cripples the team when they sign them to that large of amount. The dolphins offensive line is okay and is not the problem and anyone with any common sense that and has actually listened to Mike McDaniel knows this. The reason Tua has such a short time to throw is because the dolphins offense is catered to his needs and he takes one step and throws it. Therefore shortening the average time. Tua is a mediocre talent and it's not his fault. He was overdrafted. Before Tyree kill, he was throwing for 90 yards a game and that's the real to it. He is not a franchise quarterback and he needs his teammates to elevate him and does not elevate anyone around him. The dolphins know this and that's why they haven't extended him. Greer is a terrible general manager, but he may get this right. The smart thing is to make to a play out this 5th season and see if he can. Stay healthy and lead them to a playoff victory. If it's the same old, beat up on the terrible teams and lose to the good teams, trade them away. But then there is another problem because no teams want Tua. If Tua were on the free agent market, nobody would try to sign him. He has to play in warm weather and preferably a dome. The only teams that may need a quarterback are the Carolina Panthers and they are not going to budge off of Bryce young and the New York Giants are out because they are in cold weather. Perhaps the Seattle Seahawks but Tua has too weak of an arm to play in their offense
Eventually the Dolphins and Tua will Agree to a contract Tua is their bet to win football games

Tua led the league in passing yards in 2023 but not passer rating. He led in passer rating (105) in 2022. He didn’t lead them both in 2023

This is the point of Rob. King May have played the position (I played DB so I have a high respect for QBs, WRs not so much) but his stance is a bit baffling considering the statistical success of the quarterback and continue growth. I can only agree that I don't believe two is the best player at that position and does not deserve the most amount of money but that didn't stop Golf and Lawrence.

Rob is wrong. Dilfer and Hostettler were not top paid QBs. Those were back up level QBs on teams with great defenses. You can't QBs that take up massive amount of the cap unless they are the reason you win. Mahomes, Burrow and Jackson are the reason those teams win. Tua is good but take away a receiver and see what happens. If I can name 3 guys I'd rather have, how can I pay you the most? There are probably 6 QBs I'd rather have. With team he has:
Allen, Jackson, Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Rodgers.

He does not need to be able to hail marry the ball.
