- This is EVERYTHING I can tell you about Planet Coaster 2, from the Launch Event. On July 2nd 2024, Frontier Developments invited a select few creators to see their up and coming game - which happens to be the sequel to their most amazing (and the reason this channel even exists) game; Planet Coaster. Let's take a deep dive (pun intended) into everything announced for Planet Coaster 2 so far.. BIG Planet Coaster News!!
The track in the trailer, by the way, is by MacKenzie Bourg "Good Day". He's a lovely guy, so please support the track: • MacKenzie Bourg - good...
The creator event was the first chance we got to see Planet Coaster 2 Gameplay Footage. The official trailer announced that more info on that is coming July 31st. So watch this space.
And there is a massive Planet Coaster Update: We can finally make water parks too. If you are familiar with Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Soaked, then you will be familiar with Planco2. There will be a load of new shops, new rides and all sorts.
This is just the first creator event of many. And as soon as I can begin, you can be sure that you will see Planet Coaster 2: Realistic Park Episode 1. :D

OH MY GOD, I CAN TALK ABOUT IT NOW.
3 months I've held this in. How, I just don't know..
I'M HYPED AF!!
FINALLY WE HAVE WATER PARKS! WE'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE RCT3
I’m glad you didn’t explode. Hopefully they noticed our affinity for not just a cross platform game, but also a workshop we all use to include our TMTK stuff. Even if we need to re-load all the custom content from PC1 to PC2 formats I would be so happy. The only thing better than re-loading the TMTK would be just being able to import anything like blueprints from PC1into PC2 custom asset and all. No chance of that but until the last DLC is released and we see our last community Mod I will hold onto hope for reverse capability. I am as excited about everything you said, but like a little bratty child (55 years) I want more. What we get will be awesome, but more is always better. Water parks is the missing chapter of a favorite book. Pathing tool upgrade is the bad itch going away. I so needed to build plazas without wasting hours on path fighting in PC1. If you hear about a future for TMTK please let us know, I’m sure more than just me is interested. Great video.
Do you know if it will release on the Nintendo Switch? And is there a rough estimate on what the PC requirements will be, cause I REALLY wanna play it, but my GPU is not really anything to brag about
This ACTUALLY looks like a sequel instead of the same game with sort of adjusted graphics (I'm looking at you Cities Skylines 2). It looks so amazing
Its legit the same but with j slides and pools💀
100%. They improved upon what worked, redesigned what didn't, will no doubt incorporate all of the improvements seen in Planet Zoo like gift shop interiors and greater park management. Then to top it all off they use waterparks as the big recognizable hook that sells players onto the idea that this is a true sequel worth having.
@@bigsur370water parks + all the improvements from planet zoo is worthy of a sequel
@@bigsur370lol. Clearly you have absolutely 0 idea what you’re talking about.
@@ErwinPPP sure
My biggest hopes for Planco 2 are two things:
Large selection of cool and unique rides and coaster and slide types like in RCT3
Ease of access in decorating, because I really don’t want to spend 1,000 hours making my park look realistic
Spending hours and hours decorating is literally the best thing in the game lol.
@@ErwinPPP real
Makes sense that all the old planet coaster content creators have come back to the game after not playing it for years upon years. Good on you chacho for sticking with it all these years.
I'm glad to see some of them back too! I missed them!
I’ve been waiting for npcs to be decently realistic PLUS WATER PARKS LETS GO!!!
When I started playing Planet Zoo and saw the barriers tool I immediately had the thought "huh, if the outline was filled in with pathing you'd have a plaza tool for Planet Coaster."
The habitats barriers designate an area that should have collision and object interaction, and a plaza is basically a habitat for guests.
Then the barnyard DLC came out and guests could enter and move around inside the habitats and that basically confirmed it.
I’m really glad you were picked as one of the ambassadors for the announcement! You certainly earned it
Ahh thank you! It takes an audience to thrust a creator into that light though, so thank you for being part of my channel! :)
Agree completely - Chacho's was the first video I clicked on - he's who I want my info from first :)
Being able to add scenery to rides is absolutely HUGE
Right?! Literally our own themed coaster cars...
@@Nerdchacho Absolutely! This is going to be a Day One for me
Yes
I dont know why but I cant stop crying looking at this trailer. I think its all the anticipation!
Holy crap, frontier said: let’s take everything they’ve been wanting and give them all of it. 😅
please ask if there will be continuous roll or a better smoothing system that doesnt remove heartlining
They didn't share anything other than "better smoothing options" and "had an upgrade" - the rest will be known soon..
bit of a weird one but i really want the ability to make custom entertainers
I’m so hyped about this! Do you know yet if we can port existing parks from PlanCo to PlanCo 2? I have a park I’ve been working on for over 5000 hours. 8 years of hard work.
Unlikely.. the 2 parks will have very different assets to each other...
That would have been my question..such a shame though
I can't believe it's finally happening. I've wanted a waterpark building game for as long as I can remember. I can't wait to have a path system that can easily create organic plazas.
With all this tropical and water theming, hope they carried over the pirate animatronics and pieces. Seems like we'd be able to make superb pirate sections with all this new stuff.
They announced 5 themes in the base game.. Pirate isn't one of them.. :(
I hope they add more themes even if we have to pay for them down the road. Like the packs we got for PC1. And I hope they add the TMTK feature back.
Drop tracks almost guarantees transfer tracks and other elements of the same nature. Epic! I can't wait for this.
I'd like to think so too...
I thought the sudden rise of youtubers suddenly playing again was suspicious... and yes you did well to keep quiet, I couldn't! (DO WE GET TRAINS?)
Yep. All the old ones have crawled out of the woodwork.. and I'm chuffed to see some of them back. I really missed them.
@@Nerdchacho we all have i think, it’s nice the planco comunity is wakeing up again to inspire each other
So hyped. Thank you for sharing the info, Nerdchacho, and thank you to Frontier for all the hard work they've put towards this amazing looking sequel!
And thank you for supporting the channel which allowed me to be one of their ambassadors!
do you think I will be able to transfer parks from pc1 to pc2?
Unlikely because the themes and assets in the original aren't going to be in the sequel, but it isn't zero chance
HYPE. Also LOL at "maybe I should had just leaked it through a load of speculation videos"... the subtle shade, I love it lol
Not even subtle. it's pissed me off no end over the last 3 months. These creators who claimed to have known nothing - even stating it un-categorically in videos, knew all along. Our RSVP to the event had to be made before 18th June. They lied to their audiences and that is shady. They then proceeded to pump out low quality speculation videos disclosing everything we saw and knew under the guise of "speculation" or "far out ideas" that they already KNEW were in the game. I have massive respect for creators until they are terrible people. I couldn't call them out on it because that would reveal my own NDA... A party popper looses all of its pizzaz if some-one pulls it before you get to.
@@Nerdchachoor you just appreciate that they were keeping the the topic relevant. Otherwise most ppl wouldnt be even that excited or wouldnt find out about the todays announcement.
At the end, its a marketing strategy and i do think frontier also were part of that. Nowadays, nothing is just a "random" desicion.
And while thinking about it, Rudis Videos for example, make more sense now then they did before the announcement.
U might call it lying, i call it "marketing strategy"
OMG - I am so excited for this! I didn't discover PlanCo until Covid, so I missed out on all the hype when the game first launched - not this time baby! Also - I was bummed this morning as we left Cedar Point after a brilliant 3-day trip there, but just outside of Sandusky the trailer dropped and turned my frown upside-down - perfect timing! AHHHHHH!!!!
I started in around like 2017 or something
One thing I'd love to see is the ability to basically make any coaster a shuttle coaster. Example, just give us the wing coaster and give us the ability to make it LSM or chain lift, and with the right design, you can make it a shuttle coaster as well. I would love that so much! The transfer/drop tracks are cool, but what kills me about planco 1 is the inability to make certain launch coasters shuttle coasters.
Oh 100% give me this. Yes.
What are the chances this will get VR support?
not zero, but not likely... (that's my opinion - not my knowledge)
i don't know how person notice thé change track color on the surf coaster white to the brown !!! and did you know more about switch track tranfer table ???❤❤
Switch tracks and transfer tables, no news. It was confirmed then retracted..
How's the performance? Does it require a 4090+ and 14900k to run decently?
We haven't played it yet.. but what we saw seemed to be running well on a PS5...
I am so insanely hyped! The stuff this video describes is literally exactly what I personally would’ve asked for in a sequel. Fingers crossed it’s good!
Yeah, it's a decent sequel in fairness. It seems to strike a balance between moving the game on but rolling it back enough to start again in a different direction..
I'm a bit nervous that we haven't seen any transport rides yet
@@BoeBins don't be. They were added late into the alpha of the original too..
Getting drop tracks is a W. But... we NEED switch tracks as well. So many new coasters have switch tracks
Didn't confirm, I'm afraid.. :(
@@Nerdchachomaybe they keeping that as a surprise.🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂
I honestly can’t believe it! Let’s go planet coaster 2!!! 🎉
We need transfer tracks/switch tracks and 2 station tracks. We need more realistic ride breakdowns like how it can get stuck mid air on flat rides, and coasters on lift or any block points. And when maintenance comes along, maybe require 3 minimum of them to start up the ride. Adding emergency evacuations would make things cooler and the thing would be realistic since not everyday will be a good day. Next let’s talk about guest interaction. Let’s say the rides are rough or needs re track. Well I want them to interact more with the park. Lastly, we need ride attendants/operators checking seats. This is a must do. As well as being able to operate the rides and allow the weather to affect the park. These are my ideas.
OH MY GOD THIS WILL BE SO GOOD
IM BEGGING THEY ADD A SWING LAUNCH
YESSS OMGGG
There is ONLY one. It’s one the Torque coaster in Planet Coaster 1
Have they changed the game engine? If so, have they been able to address performance issues..??
They didn't confirm, but it LOOKED like Cobra 2 with a different lighting engine..
Any word if there will be a physical disc release for ps5?
Can’t wait for the resizing tool I love it in prehistoric kingdom. Do you think they put help when building coasters as I am rubbish building them. Hope people don’t walk through walls to
Will PC1 parks / blueprints / TMTK be compatible with PC2 do you know?
We don't know. Presumably no. But the chance is not zero..
Looks absolutely amazing. Especially the customising coasters and flat rides with scenery sounds great.
Now please we want switch / transfer track, better darkride luminosity, possibility of two stations for one coaster !!
Can’t wait to play to his masterpiece
Y E S OMG
Planet Coaster was the first steam game I got years ago, now we finally get another game? And hopefully at least another couple years until we get paid DLCs? Im in!!
If we don't get seperate entrance/exit stations I'll loose my shit. All major coasters have separate boarding and Plan Co has NEVER featured it! WHY?!
The stations had THREE "entrances" to them... Not sure what the third is. They didn't confirm multi-stations to us...
All major coasters? Name 1 B&M or RMC with separate stations.
Yeah I want that ability, but most coasters absolutely do not have separate stations.
@@jasonkloos6348lots of Intamins have those and dueling dragons at universal studios had a separate unload station.
@jasonkloos6348 true, in the real world parks don't want to spend the money on two of everything for both a loading and a unloading station. I can remember getting unloaded on the loading station of the real Zambezi Zinger a few times because it was a low-attendance day and WoF didn't want to schedule extra staff for the unload station. LOL I like building 2 stations because it makes 4 and 5 train operations super easy.🎉🎉🎉
@@Nerdchacho Could be a reworked fast queue? Merges into the station rather than somewhere in the queue?
Oh my god??? I wasn’t expecting to wake up to this!
Do you plan to do one last park before planco 2 releases?
Technically, yes... the Thorpe project was planned to complete around about the time I knew PlanCo2 was going to release (Oct / Nov). But, I needed to buy time to create this video, so I'm running a few weeks behind now.
Short answer is yes...
@@Nerdchacho Awesome! Excited as always
i dont even play planet coaster like that anymore and im hype for this. brings me back to when I loaded up rct3 soaked for the first time. Waterparks r game changers
Oh wow so exciting! It'd be cool to see what hybrid parks we get, with integrated coasters and slides like that one in Dubai.
I think it is awesome you were chosen to be a part of this, you absolutely deserved it.
And that being said, you are so evil for keeping this a secret. 😂😂😂
I only have 2 questions to add.
Will it run better, as in will it use multiple cores in the processor.
And
Do I get to bring my Planco 1 parks ive created to Planco 2.
Keeping it from you guys has been hell! 3 months!! And this is also why this week's member video is late too.. I let the cat out of the bag and couldn't re-record...
So...
1. It is too early to stress test it, but it seemed to be handling well on the PS5 they were demoing
2, Doubtful, no. The assets and rides between the 2 games are completely different.. so I doubt they will be compatible..
@Nerdchacho That would have been a heck of a blooper. Maybe you should include a blooper reel to include it.
Glad it works good on a ps5, but we all know console games are compressed different.
I have a rugged beast that runs 30fps on beachy point but it still struggles.
But Planet Zoo runs great no matter how big the park is.
Here's to hoping though.
You know something else I would like. Working railroad/transport ride crossings at pathways.
I think a good question would be if they’re are gonna be any kiddy flat rides . It’s really hard trying to make a realistic kids area due to the lack of small familly / kiddy ride
We don't know what is in there yet.. They wouldn't tell us... I expect that comes later...
Hope more than Planet Coaster
Really hoping for drop tracks in dark rides similar to Rise of the Resistance. The customizable coaster cars and flat rides is actually huge though, hopefully they give us more generic looking flat rides and and dark ride cars to make them easier to customize
I’m so beyond hyped I had to come back and re comment again…… we need a slingshot…… we FINALLY receiving our water park features but sling shot would be fire too lolllll
If they fix the smoothing tool i'm sold
The coaster they showed us in the footage, shall we say, wasn't made by a professional.. but they told us the builder has had a significant upgrade
@@Nerdchacho That's about what I expected, you can tell by the prebuilt coasters in PC1 that the team really don't care much for realism nor do most players.
I hope those upgrades they mentioned then actually help make realistic coasters, not that they over simplify it for the average player and in turn make realistic coasters harder to build or something.
Also a live g-force heatmap that updates whilst building like in NL2 would be a godsent.
They should have let you design the park in the video, it would have been epic!
I would have broken their game!! Imagine :D
There are way better creators than me out there.. I am just comfortable in my own style..
YOOOO OH MY GOD FINALLY MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE
Have you heard anything about transport rides or maybe arcade games? Great video thanks for sharing. Be safe until next time -George.
Arcade games was "too early to say" and nothing at all on transport rides I'm afraid :)
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SOOOO many of my DREAM checklist items have been addressed!! I can't even believe it!!
THIS IS AMAZING!!,
1. I forget if you mentioned it in the video, but are any DLC's Confirmed/Will there be any DLC's?
2. Will you be able to port over previous parks from Planco 1 into Planco 2?
1. No DLC confirmed yet. I mean, they're literally just announcing the base game, it's a bit soon to announce DLCs..
2. They didn't say. It was hinted at, but we couldn't extract any confirmed info, I'm afraid...
Alright, Thank you!
thrilled about the water parks, there is just so many stuff you can do. I hope you can build the different slide elements like uphill launches, bowls, light effects in the slide, cones, half-/quarterpipes, wild river slides or river mazes (like those you see often in Europe), fake slide elements, loops (like you often see on those trap door slides), slides going underwater (like Leap of Faith) etc.
Short answer is yes. If you see on the 31st what we saw on the 2nd, then you won't be disappointed..
Is the plaza pathing done by drawing the outline of the path area and then it gets filled in automatically?
We didn't see it, but they mentioned that the pool tool and the path tool are the same thing, allowing for wider path areas and plazas of all sorts of shapes..
@@Nerdchacho awesome, thanks 👍🏻
Your not allowed to have a towel! I think trash in the pool areas should be reskinned to look like used towels ;)
When will they publish the system requirements for pc?
Probably later in the summer. It's still an alpha build, so not enough is known about the initial stress-testing to say for sure what the requirements are. What I CAN say with certainty is that the demo we saw was performing well on a PS5..
i want swing launch, turntables, switch tracks, the possibility of editing drop tower height (and more flat rides), and fabbri boosters
Reasonable things... nothing confirmed in those spaces yet though
The dude on the drop slide just....dissappeared
If u look closely, he didnt. Soooo, thats NOT true
@@CoasterTrax well he didn't go down the slide
"Pre-Alpha Engine Footage"
Will there be a first person/third person experience playing as a guest like the title “Thrillville” or will it only be a free camera like the last game?
They didn't say and we didn't ask... I'll add it to the list to find out..
Yes, there will be a first person option! Confirmed in the press release.
Perf.. thanks! :)
The new Career mode is gonna be Intresting.
AHHH WATERPARKS AHHH
The beginning was so cute 🥲
I’m actually hyped for this
I really hope f25 made the cut. I know it's not everyone's favorite, but it's my go-to looping coaster
Has anything been said about optimization?
Nothing yet, but it was performing well on the PS5 they were demoing on..
I can't wait to get building! And see your creations as well.
Oh man, I can;t wait to get into it too.. We haven't got access yet..
Hopefully there’s transfer tracks ride control operations , drop tracks and functional games/arcades .. as of now this looks like a planco 1 DLC .. I’ll be open minded that it’s not
Same art style doesn't mean it's not completely overhauled. Just the water parks and attachable/scalable scenery alone makes it more than worthy as a sequel.
@@ahighdef.experience3394 truth, and certain PlanCo 2 new features might not be plug-in play with the programming used in PlanCo. Sadly, everything we want isn't always possible as a dlc.
Drop tracks confirmed... the rest unknown as yet..
how many pieces from the first game including DLC will be in this game? Some pieces I really liked especially from DLCs and it would be a shame to not have them
They didn't say... They confirmed 5 themes for launch, but how much of the old game comes over is not known yet..
@@Nerdchacho oh okay, thank you for the reply. Do the themes mean like the DLCs for the base game?
I hope they have more flats, I would love to see a Roto Shake or a Falling Star
Did they mention anything about dark ride buildings or more realistic interior lighting, that way we don't have to switch to night time or even underground for dark rides.
No, nothing at all I'm afraid. This isn't the only one we get to see.. so hold please, caller...
Yes, yes yes when I woke up this morning, that was the first thing I saw was planet coaster two and I was like oh Lord here we go another speculation video and then it was all over my Facebook feed and TH-cam and I was like is this a fever dream!? nobody pinched me in if this is a dream do not wake me up because yes planet coaster too, and we don’t have to wait two years. It’s this fall. 7:59
please ask if theres switch tracks!!!
We did. They were confirmed and then retracted...
In the steam page, it looks like there is a white, new gen Vekoma in the background. I wonder if that really is what it is and I can’t wait to see more teasers.
Did they say anything about switch tracks ?
Initially, yes. Confirmed. They retracted that shortly after, so no.
How about duel coaster station and/or separate load/unload stations, and switch tracks?
They wouldn't confirm..
Oh my gosh, saw it on insta today. So it is true! yay ^^
It is 100% true. And confirmed..
Is Beachy point gonna get a water park upgrade?
Doubtful, we won't be able to port parks from 1 to 2.
I might revisit it and do an unusable one for fun.. VERY, VERY soon...
Yeeeees to be able to re-size objects. Tell them that staff need vechiles to drive around the park. Like you could do in Zoo Tycoon ga
I’m on Xbox one s, am I screwed?
I have a burning question. Will there be backwards compatibility for workshop creations?
I have spent so much time and effort creating custom buildings, I spent a month creating a scale replica of Hill Valley with a working lightning strike. And I'm sure many players feel that same why.
So will it be possible to transfer these creations to the new game?
Obviously it will not be possible for certain creations that use scenery packs and DLCs that are not included in Planet Coaster 2. So my next question is will it be possible that everything from the last game, it's free updates and all it's DLCs will be made available for the new game?
It's not a bad idea from a business perspective, it'll mean a ton of content with little effort on the part of the programmers.
Unlikely because the assets in PC1 will not be in PC2.
@@Nerdchacho But couldn't they recreate those assets in PC2? It can't be that difficult.
The question isn't whether they could; it is whether they want to and it is clear from the announcement that they don't want to. They want PC2 to be different to 1 and you start by not having the same things in the game.
@@Nerdchacho Well these questions you could actually put to them?
@@EccentricGentelman I can, yes, but they aren't going to change their entire direction because I've asked. I can only seek clarity. I can't seek change. I'm just a content creator. I'm not on the dev team. I'm not employed by frontier. I'm literally a nobody.
FIRST! Wow this is awesome man thanks for the content! ** Did you get any info on the Disney licensing?**
PLEASE LET THE COASTER BUILDER BE BETTER, i aint spending 20 hrs smoothing it out then deciding the shaping isnt right XD
Please tell me they added a Beach / Ocean terrain! With the addition of pools and waterslides, they better have included it. Trying to make an ocean ends up turning into a lake! I'll be happy to see my pool water levels where they should be.
will there be transfer and high speed switch tracks?
They didn't confirm, I'm afraid.
The initial answer to "will there be transfer tracks" was "Yes" - but retracted that.. We think that was in reference to maintenance buildings rather than switch tracks / swing launches
@@Nerdchacho I really hope they do go back and add switch tracks for swing launches
Is there a chance tmtk could be on console?
It isn't zero, but I'd say unlikely. I think what we will see is blueprint sharing across all platforms, but not asset importer for either.. At least not yet. Asset importers tend to be reserved for when the devs have nothing else they want to do with the game and want to extend its life..
@@Nerdchacho fingers crossed its cross platform the stupid Eugene counter will be removed from consoles
Can you ask them if they fixed the block zone issue with the water coaster?
The current water coaster might not make it to the game... we will need to wait to see what does come over..
7:59 My Questions for the devs: When did Frontier start working on Planet Coaster 2? and are there any coaster enthusiasts working on planet coaster 2?
I shall ask if I get the chance to..
I better be able to make an intamin blitz and a b&m hyper with staggered steating
I've been waiting SO LONG for PlanCo 2! I've built a whole new PC in anticipation of this... and to play PlanCo 1 at a somewhat decent fps.🙃
The only real disappointment so far is that it appears most of the themes from PC1 are being dropped from 2, meaning we will likely have to rebuy them in DLCs.
Hopefully in that case Frontier can touch them up with new assets when they do return.
Yeah, I get why that would annoy people.. But that is the nature of sequels.. we saw this same "rollback" with Cities 2, The Sims 4, Civ 6, Tropico 6 and every Anno ever made.. Nature of the beast, sadly
EXCELLENT review. Thank you! Quick and to the point. Honest. High on excitement. Low on unnecessary speculation.
Exactly how these kinds of videos should be.. Who wants to listen to an hour or more of my opinion?!
I'm not a builder like you and many other, I plop down a stall and call it day really. I'm more into the economic management side of games. I found that lacking in PC1. I really hope PC 2 has more for of it this time around, than yet more scenery pieced in a dlc. Though I will probably still buy it.
I hope they went with a spline system for building construction. That would be so easier than placing one prop piece wall at a time.
Sounds, from the Steam Store blurb, that it is still piece by piece
I just want a path building process that doesn't suck, a ride decorating process that isn't dependent on hacking the game, and midway games booths that work just like a shop stall, and a better variety of flat rides.
How many different versions of catapult drop towers does one park need?
Looks like we are probably gonna be buying a new computer this Christmas.😂
It seemed to perform well on the PS5 they were demoing it on...
Cant wait to get my hands on this! Already have some ideas based off of just this!
I'm so stoked.. like, proper stoked. The things I will build! It totally changes Beachy Point :D
@@Nerdchacho gives me so many ideas to build off MenraC Park and my new unfinished park
PLEASE SAY THERE IS TRANSFER TRACKS, SUCH AS MAINTENCE AREA'S, FOR TRAIN THAT ARE NOT BEING USED, TO BE STORED THERE, AND IS THERE STAFF BUCKLING SEATBELTS, HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE TRUE! THANKS FOR THE UPDATE!
It was confirmed then retracted... So... watch this space..
I'm extremely excited! I wonder how pools will work with temperature and weather and stuff? Will we have to build indoor pools if it's a colder biome maybe?
Also I'm going to assume that stuff like resturants and the other nifty Zoo features will make it to Coaster 2?
No word on the zoo based shops, restaurants and kiosks.. That news is coming later..
When will we see a first in-game look Chacho?
Frontier are doing one July 31st :)
Wow this looks like it’s going to be sick it’s taken the core gameplay from planet zoo, coaster and JPE 2 and smashed it into one game but it looks like I’m going to get lost in the game as soon as it drops lol
WEATHER. FINALLY.
I know, right?! FINALLY!!
