- Yes, there is definitely a secret to making the MOST out your MSC cruise... and it may not be what you think it is. MSC has a unique vibe onboard their ships and there is a way to make sure you get your best cruise. After all, you paid for it... so make the most out of it. We also answer a few other questions sent to us by listeners including what to do when you find that absolutely perfect sausage on the buffet!

I love this episode! However, I can't say as I was a thrilled with the Mr. Steam Punk Potato Head show I was worried someone dropped a tab of acid in my drink. 🤣I completely agree with the "secret" to cruising. I tell everyone that asks about cruising that "A cruise is what you make it!"
We status matched from our Hilton Diamond and Matched in at "Diamond / Black" We have also heard that they just revamped how hard it is to match in. For example, the highest tier from Marriott only matches in at Gold now with MSC. I have looked extensively online etc. and I have not found anywhere that has a good chart on what level you may match in on. Another thing to note, only ONE person matches in, for example, we decided few years back that our easiest way to match in was to match through our Hilton Honors which was in Melana's Name as she had more points than I did at the time. So, we got her status up with Hilton over that year and got to diamond and then matched to MSC. She of course gets the status match, and I was still stuck at silver.🤣 So, not everyone in the cabin gets the perks of the status.
However, it really isn't that hard to get to Diamond / Black status without matching. I will be Diamond after our next MSC cruise.
Great stuff on the status match… getting the exact, correct particulars directly from MSC seems to be a bit of a mysterious treasure hunt. 🧐

I just got off a very first cruise. We booked the yacht club on the Seascape.. It was an absolute amazing time and awesome for the value and I don’t think I’ll ever cruise other than the yacht club again. I have done so much extensive research before our cruise. And we actually booked our next cruise on the World America while we were on board.
The seaside class ships were the first design for ships for the US all the other ones are European ships slightly adjusted for the US market. The New World class ships will have a ton more included restaurants and venues on it as well as a few more paid options for different things. The new world class ships has the buffet on 2 different decks. The world Europa will be identical to the world America, except a few name changes, and a few Americanized little touches. Unfortunately the biggest change that will not be on the ship in public areas is the Sorosky Crystal staircases you will only find that in the yacht club.
Love your guises videos I use them as research for our trip even though you have not been on a Seascape yet, very informational and thank you guys for doing this podcast.

Looking forward to your next episode. We are going on MSC (Seashore YC) for the first time in April. We don’t have status with a cruise line but we do with hotel chains. I heard that they will honor that as well but haven’t verified.

We usually bring 3 games with us… Yahtzee, a game called Fill-or-Bust, and a deck of cards to play game we learned awhile ago called Minus-5. All don’t take up much room in the luggage…🥳

Not sure if you have a specific question, but let us quickly do an overview…😊
MSC has a combination of song & dance shows, stand up comedians, and variety shows on their main stage. We think they are great… wild costumes, fun songs, incredible costumes. They also features *lots* of live music around the ship. An example from our recent Magnifica cruise… 3 different music artists, 4 solo artists, and a DJ working the club nightly. They also have game shows throughout the cruise as well as games (like trivia) each day. Although they show movies in the theatre, they do not have on-demand movies on room TVs. Some ships (including the Seascape!) even have a waterpark. 🥳
In the Meraviglia Yacht Club, they were testing having some performers from the main shows in the Yacht Club lounge on certain nights. They also had live musicians in the YC lounge each day.

Were there many single people on your MSC trips?
A few, but not many. It seems cruise lines just are not “single cruiser friendly”. We sure wish they did offer more options for singles though.

Gotcha! Ha! We’re actually in the same room, just sitting across from each other… we kinda think it lends a more “conversational” feel to the show rather than an “instructional” one… like we’re just talking with our TTT family rather than presenting a lecture to an audience. 😊

Yeah… it’s our 5th show and still figuring out settings for the new equipment and how they affect the final result. Unfortunately, not every show will be exactly the way we hope. Believe me when I say… Chris is *always* searching for a better video. 😊
