The all white doll with the butterfly embroidery is called a "pillowcase doll" an is in fact, made from an old embroidered pillowcase! I did some for my girls when they were little with old linens from their great grandmother.
The glass cups are punch cups, often sold in a set with a punch bowl. They were used in the 1950s and 1960s for ladies lunches, bridal and baby showers!
Your bins are such treasure troves, I watch a lot of TH-camrs who shop that the bins and it looks mostly like rubbish. Drooling over the linens and quilts
The kitty doorstop was cute 4:45 scarves & cover ups are always a good find at the bins 5:40 ❤Dalmatian plush 9:35 I love quilts in good shape when you can find them at the bins
My wife and I just recently started watching your show and we love it! We're up here in Montreal, Quebec and we have Goodwill here, but it's called Renaissance here, and we also have Value Village (Village des Valeurs). I am a big thrifting fan, I regularly go there to find books and DVDs I want.
*Oh‼️ I forgot to tell you my favorite item is the handmade pillowcase doll...I absolutely 💯 L🦋VE the BUTTERFLY 🦋 EMBROIDERY ON HER SKIRT...It almost looks like it could be a baptismal or christening gown. 🥰 So pretty. 😍🤍💕🌺* *The tangerine 🍊 colored smocked baby dress is SO SWEET. Who wouldn't want that adorable little vintage dress on their baby girl with little white shoes? Especially for Easter❣️🐥 🐣 🐤🐰🐇*
Carolyn ... hope you had a good Easter.. Columbus , Ohio had a warm sunny day .. pinch me ! ( in a cold spell right now ) ... Who knew the bins would be so popular ! Hope to talk to you on Saturday!
Total boho looking scarf, I’d make an accent pillow out of that!❤.. love love what u guys are doing!..wish my hubby would do it with me there’s no way😂
Deseret Industries, and I think several other thrift stores, send their unsold items to countries for those who have nothing. They are very appreciated and loved. ❤.
I think I have a ton of those. I should have thought of that. There was a time I thought I was gonna make homemade popsicles. I never did so I have a bunch
*Jami and Zeb, you can use 2 pieces of painter's, masking or Scotch tape to hold the wicks straight in the candles🕯until the wax hardens. 😊 That's what I do.*
I use hot glue to add wicks to my candles. I put the wick in a drinking straw and add hot glue to the bottom of the wick then use the straw to place the wick in the bottom of the cup. That way you don't burn yourself.
Flat land Ohio thanks you for the mountains! Good stuff found as usual -- the Goodwill head offices need to give you a "1/2 off" winners card for the huge advertising you give them across the country . The blue chair completed on Wed was in the Norway painted family tradition style & just beautiful -- a family adopts a unique style & identifies w/ it -- you created your family style -- truly unique !
Love the smocked dress. The smocked part itself could be removed and framed. Wouldn't do it with this particular dress as it appears to be in great condition.
Your ability to find good stuff at the bins right now in larger quantities is directly related to the fact that they’ve raised their prices at their normal stores and buyers from those stores are passing on more items due to the higher pricing. This is leading to more items transitioning to the bins. Good for bin shoppers but a bad business move for Goodwill. 😉
Hi…have. to ask if peach smocked little girl dress is a Polly Flinders brand. My little girl now 35 years old wore nothing but Polly Flinders…great quality and even for back then were pricey! Score!…
So...we don't have Goodwill Bins where i live, so this is a new concept for me. Where does that merchandise come from? It looks like maybe from "over stocked stores"? And /Or libraries? It doesn't looked like " heavily " used items ( like Mickey and Minnie Mouse Plush looked new 😊.??) I'm hoping ours here in Florida does that.! I've heard there is a shopping ban on the Goodwill here every one is so fed up with their prices! Not sure what is going to happen . It's better here, price wise ,to find a church sale or yard sale. But that involves a lot of gas money! Ugh! Im a booth owner. It's tough right now! And I see your buy/ sell prices out there!!! And cry...LOL
Over stocked stores or things that don’t sell. I’m not really sure. They sell by the pound. I have a friend who lives in Florida and finds loads of good stuff she’s on Facebook Faux your eyes only
Question for those that know..... I see alot of people making candles in teacups, then see people always commenting, that if the cup is not made for a candle, it will shatter with the heat. True or False?

I am so glad that you rescue these beautiful vintage items! The fact that their next stop is the dump makes me so sad!
I agree!!!! 💯. These ephemera and Treasures from 4-6 decades ago will be LOST forever because ppl don't VALUE history
Me, too!
Thank you for saving the old stuff from the land fill
I love the fact that you are managing to find many gems at the bins just before the remainder goes to landfill. The vintage makeup case is cute!
When I got home I looked inside and it had the key! 😱
@6:35 😍😍 vintage, SMOCKED baby dress !!! YES. I absolutely love it too, Jami ❣️❣️
Home for a Bunny, was my favorite childhood book!! Ahhh, the memories!
The cloth dolls are made of antique pillowcases. Very sweet!
I have done candles like that. They are fairly easy to do and make fantastic gifts to have on hand for emergency gifts and blackouts
Your Thrifting Videos are My Favorite...
Your bins are such treasure troves, I watch a lot of TH-camrs who shop that the bins and it looks mostly like rubbish. Drooling over the linens and quilts
The old 🎵 book, First Division Band Method, @3:02 brings back flute lesson memories from the early 1980's ❣️
Memory unlocked for sure!!
A vendor local to me makes candles in tarnished silver cups and bowls! So pretty! Oh! And china cups and saucers! 😊
Fun! I’m excited to try some new things and get better at doing the candles.
I love seeing what you come up with for candles!💕
I absolutely love that beautiful Little House on The Prairie doll. ❤❤❤
I scored at the SLC bins today. A vintage embroidered table cloth and two embroidered pillow cases. And a vintage broadcloth pillow cover,!
I absolutely L♥️VE my Better Homes & Garden spiral cookbook, like the one you found, every recipe comes out Perfect!!

Jami, that is a Church Doll, they were made for children in the early 1900 - I used to make them.
The Little Golden Book brings back happy memories of my childhood in the '70's, I loved reading those books!
My wife and I just recently started watching your show and we love it! We're up here in Montreal, Quebec and we have Goodwill here, but it's called Renaissance here, and we also have Value Village (Village des Valeurs). I am a big thrifting fan, I regularly go there to find books and DVDs I want.
So many great things giant MickeyMinnie, smocked baby dress, vintage cook books!!!! All the things!
I love that you rescue handmade afghans and quilts! Giving new life to someone's labor of love!
Love the afghans you get and all the other stuff.
Bunny Book is adorable! Zeb and I have shared book vibes. Lol😂

I had not found much lately but this week I had 2 great trips and both trips were a store that I never find stuff at! Woohoo!
Those candles turned out great! ❤
I love the candle idea!
7:11 that one book, is called comforts of the damned! 😂😂
Love the Mickey and Minnie. They look in great condition
I use small jelly jars for my candles.
💝 sweet!
Omg my first clarinet book was that pink one you picked up. Woluld love to have it!
Yep, my first flute book
Great video! I love the candle idea. I think I may make done candles this weekend 🩵🩵
I use to have that same Samsonite piece of luggage! What a memory - great hall.
The candles are so pretty!!! That was a fun craft to see..something different for a thrift flip❤ love it! Bet they sell fast!

@@kaihandren9309 *Carolyn and Kai...see you on Saturday, friends❣️😁💜*
Great finds Rays! ❤
Awesome haul ...good job ❤
I use odd vintage cups as scoops in my big jars of sugar etc.
I’ve been to my local bins store 4 times now and I am hooked!!
Total boho looking scarf, I’d make an accent pillow out of that!❤.. love love what u guys are doing!..wish my hubby would do it with me there’s no way😂
*NICE HAUL...especially the beautiful vintage books and the quilts and afghans.😁 Those candles turned out well, Jami and Zeb❣️🤍 See you Saturday‼️👍🏼😉*
I absoblutely love watching you two!
I just received my order from you, I can't wait to start some painting projects. But now I'm thinking I'm loving those little teacup candles 🤔😂
I tested one to make sure it burned well. The wick worked etc. and they are so cute burning. And they smell good too ❤️
I would be interested to see your sanitizer machine and your oxiclean method. LOVE the Dalmatian and Rudolph!
I love Cath Kidston!!
It washed up really nice!
You two make my heart happy!!
Awww thank you.
Really fun treasures, love the candles
Deseret Industries, and I think several other thrift stores, send their unsold items to countries for those who have nothing. They are very appreciated and loved. ❤.
Thrift some vintage sunglasses. I love the cat eyes
I believe the electric clock has lighted numbers.
I want to try to make my own candles now ! Great job and Great haul video 👍
Oh cool! I just this a few videos ago with several vintage , thrifted cups. ❤
Two sided coats, the tags are in the pockets.❤
My daughter was obsessed with 101 Dalmatians she’s 35 now ❤
It’s cool that you guys find so much good stuff, but it also makes me sad that so much good stuff gets trashed afterward.
Popsicle sticks work well for holding the wick
I think I have a ton of those. I should have thought of that. There was a time I thought I was gonna make homemade popsicles. I never did so I have a bunch
*Jami and Zeb, you can use 2 pieces of painter's, masking or Scotch tape to hold the wicks straight in the candles🕯until the wax hardens. 😊 That's what I do.*
That’s smart! I will try it. Someone also mentioned a clothes pin. So many better ideas than what we had.
Jami, you look so pretty with your hair down.. ..
Vintage cookbooks are my niche
I use hot glue to add wicks to my candles. I put the wick in a drinking straw and add hot glue to the bottom of the wick then use the straw to place the wick in the bottom of the cup. That way you don't burn yourself.
This is brilliant. If I can just remember I can save a finger tip or two
The landscape on your videos is so beautiful. So different from Australia.
Ours stores NEVER have the kind of stuff you get
Wow, the music was so loud at the bins. Surprised they didnt copyright 🚫 Great video❤
If you don't have a theomometer for the correct pouring temp, pour just before congealing
I had a good chuckle over Zeb in the book bin. Weren't we always told to Not judge a book by it's cover? ;) That was a gorgeous cover BTW.

Couple of skewers or chopsticks work to hold up the wick lol
Love the smocked dress. The smocked part itself could be removed and framed. Wouldn't do it with this particular dress as it appears to be in great condition.
The white doll is a church doll the children would take them to church because they were quiet. And the kids were entertained
The cloth doll was made from a vintage embroidered pillowcase.
It looked like that 1919 book was signed!
YOU SHOULD ADD FOOD COLORING TO THE WAX FOR COLOR.

I will look but I think it may be homemade. I didn’t see a tag.
That white doll is a pillowcase doll
Those Popular Science books were sold with encyclopedias in the 1960’s as a set of ten volumes or so. (Ask me how I know… 😃)
I'll bite, how do you know? :)
Good job😂😂😂😂
My Goodwill bins price things differently. Books are charged by the inch.
Your bins are so much better than the one here in Ct. ours is mostly clothes and very little else. Do your bins do the books by the pound or piece?
By the pound
Omg! I found that same doorstop cat at bins in Ohio😂
Maybe they got separated. We have twin cats ❤️❤️
Isn’t there a clamp with the wicks to hold them in place?
So how many candles did you get for each bag of wax?
Three
How do you clean clear glass so it's shiny
Lemon oil first and then dawn and warm water
An Aussie here...quick question. Never heard the blankets / throws, whatever called afghans before. Is it an American thing?
So...we don't have Goodwill Bins where i live, so this is a new concept for me. Where does that merchandise come from? It looks like maybe from "over stocked stores"? And /Or libraries? Thanks ..I had just ran across that site today! What a coincidence!
Etudes are compositions written to be exercises😀
❤
You should have more then one wick, because the wax will melt even.
They are not that wide
@@JamiRayVintage they look wider on video
@@susanreed1466 in real life the shorter ones are average width I wonder if it’s because they are so short they look wider.
@@JamiRayVintage I think you can be right.
Will the little glass vessels withhold the heat of candle? I would think it would explode.
We tested the candles.
Question for those that know.....
I see alot of people making candles in teacups, then see people always commenting, that if the cup is not made for a candle, it will shatter with the heat.

We tested ours and it was fine. Ours are not fine China they are thick glass. That might be the difference.

Why did not take the Fox, he was so cute

People wear scarves all of the time
That one doll is a pillow case dolls isn’t it ?
Yes it is.
My mother made one for my daughter many years ago .
There punch cups
Don’t cut the wicks too short….
you need to pour more wax into the containers. Customers want a full candle not a shorted candle. I make candles all the time
You have to leave enough headspace to cut the wick below the top of the vessel.
