    100% with you on both Ed and Risner. The only great thing about Risner is that if the Vikes do have an injury, Risner can hold up for a few weeks, especially against some of the lesser team. Yip, Risner's contract is an absolute tell all.

    Im a lions fan and this is by far the most realistic Minnesota Vikings TH-cam channel and gives a fair take ! As a lions fan can u imagine if we would of lost ? Felt like Minnesota was never gonna take the lead back at 28-23 and that Montgomery fumble we cant deny and the only fumble we lost all year. That being said st brown is a Viking killer with his routes.

    I agree 100% about Ed. I watched Ed for every snap in the Jets and Lions game and I don't understand the garbage talk from PFF and fans at ALL. I dare anyone to name the specific plays he lost, and how they affected materially affected the play or game. I found one - the tacky block in the back call that brought back a 1st down run by Chandler. It was Ingrams first penalty of the season, I think everyone else on the line has 2 or more. If that was a benching offence, then O'Neill's penalty that brought back a 37 yard Chandler run should get him relegated to the PS.
    Otherwise Ed pretty much destroyed Kinlaw in the Jets game, and shut down Alim McNeil in the Lions game.
    I think there is zero chance that he gets replaced. He is playing very well, and better each week.
    Brandel said his nickname was Monster, because he basically monsters his opponent. The guys on the line know.

    Certainly we played 'em tough, and there are a lot of positives, but if you look at this honestly I think you'll find we are outclassed: We were coming off our bye with 2 weeks to rest/prepare for detroit, we were at home w/raucous crowd behind us, no hutchinson....and we threw the kitchen sink at them & we still came up short. Detroit has another gear.....we don't. That was our best. My opinion is if/when we face them again they'll run away from us (without those aforementioned advantages) as well as we now have more film for them to study. I think we're gonna come back to earth a bit as the season progresses. We've had a great start, but our flaws are being slowly exposed, and we won't have answers. We'll likely still get in playoffs, and that's more than I expected, so thats an achievement..... But we ain't there yet. I'm not in agreement that we're the 2nd best team in the division, let alone the conference..... 11 games left to see, and things change fast in the nfl. I still see us as overachievers, that have been underestimated to this point but nobody's taking us lightly the rest of the way.. One things for sure, its the Vikings, so it will be interesting.

      Yes, the better team won, the Lions played better when they had to and Jared Goff was incredible against our blitzes. Hopefully the Vikings can fix the offensive woes that shows up every game being that they seem to be a "one half" team. They play good for one half and sputter the other half while the defense goes full throttle all game.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree that the home field and bye were two advantages that the Vikes had, but I disagree that the Vikes were outclassed, and I'm not sure where this extra Lions gear comes from.
      Yes, they had no Hutch, but that's a complete red herring, it won't change this season. It's an excuse for a loss, but isn't an extra gear that they can go to, not like the Vikes have TJ and Cashman coming back.
      Goff was 22 or 25 and recovered 3 or 4 of his own fumbles. 3 passes that he might have completed. He is already playing at his peak. There is literally virtually no upside there, except perfection, and he had to be perfect to beat the Seahawks.
      Remember this is Goff's 4th season with this offence, and Darnold has had 6 games with KOC, this scheme and the Vikes playmakers. Sam has by far the more scope for improvement. Adding TJ to the mix. Addison missed the last 4 weeks of training camp and weeks 2, 3, and 4 of the season, and that also showed. All of this should look better late in the season. We are already seeing Sam run more effectively, and we haven't seen a bone-headed shovel pass or backwards flip to Jones for 2 or 3 weeks now as he becomes more comfortable with the offense.
      Another thing you might consider is the schedule.
      The Lions game was the 5th consecutive tough game against a contender and the Vikes have got through them 4-1. The Lions just played their 1st and now have to face the Texans and 49ers on the road, Bills, and Packers home and away. Meanwhile the Vikes have to face 8 teams that are average at best.
      If anything the schedule will bring the Lions back to earth, not the Vikes.

      @@LionsOnTheHunt313 And you appear to struggle with math.
      Goff is maxing out at the moment. He literally cannot play much better. He's hardly had an incomplete pass these past 3 games.
      The Lions D is beaten up, as afar as I know Davenport, Hutch, Cominsky and Barnes all down for the season - so unless Holmes goes fishing before the trade deadline that is pretty much peak Lions.
      La Porta and Jamo were invisible. Any contribution from them would cannibalise Amon Ra by definition.
      Zeitler back for Awosike would help, but injuries and incomplete seasons are what should be expected from a 34 year old guard.
      Where will this extra gear come from?

    That throw on 3rd down that Darnold missed high. If Addison doesn't come back into Darnold's line of sight that ball to JJ is completed. I'm sure he thought it was a defender.

    I think our run D stats are a bit distorted. If a team can throw on you all day, or playing from behind, they're not gonna run. Points allowed the last 2 games is something to be worried about. And Bradberry and Ingram have given up the most pressures in the league at their positions. Just sayin.

    If you want to beat Detroit , you will need Dexter Lawrence, with what you have now you can then beat that Elite O-line your D line is not Elite Add Lawrence and then you have an elite line with excellent depth , also more 3 safety looks against Detroit have a safty take away that 15 yrd middle pass . Ask yourself if the vikings had Dexter Lawrence and Cashman in week 18 against Detroit plus Hockenson , and your probably playing for the division title and the #1 seed , do you think we win? Answers Yes .cause that is wear this is headed . VIKINGS AT DETROIT FOR ALL THE MARBLES.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't believe that so many folks fall for the anti-Ingram BS from PFF. It's ludicrous. I dare you to actually watch Ingram every snap and record every play where he is directly beaten by his guy, that has a material effect on the game. There was literally one marginal play in the Lions game, very early when McNeil blew him backwards, and he hit Sam's shins just after Sam threw. Jefferson just failed to toe tap, and you could argue Sam might have thrown it fraction lower for a completion without the pressure around his feet. That's it.
      Ed shut down the Lions best D Line threat, Alim McNeil for the rest of the game.
      None of the sacks came from anywhere near Ed.
      His game against the Jets was very similar.
      Just facts.
      Just identify the specific plays Ed got beaten and how they affected the game.

      @@robe2504 If the coaching staff benches him I am going to go with they know more than you or I. He is not horrible, but I get sick of all the people that give him so many excuses.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jameslyon163 I agree 100% about the superior judgement of the Vikes coaching staff.
      They have not shown any inclination to bench him. The FO showed zero urgency in re-signing Risner and he is on the absolute minimum deal a 500k signing bonus and $600k guaranteed, with up to $1m for playing.
      They're telling us with their actions that they see Risner as a back up.
      All I can say is that I watched every snap of Ed for the last 2 games, and granted he makes 1 or 2 mistakes, as does everyone on the O Line - but down in, down out he is solid as anything on both pass protection and run blocking.
      He just stuffs people at the line play after play, and he often gets the tough assignments. Last week Ed faced Alim McNeil a lot, and he didn't even get on the box score - not even a tackle assist.

    • @jameslyon163
      @jameslyon163 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@robe2504 He is the weakest one on or line though. Bradbury is a close second and Brandel is better than both of them.
