As a Norwegian high school student, this video amazed me. It's crazy how different the education systems are in different countries. Wonderful video as always, Jasmine!
I'd say it is! Primary school (1st-7th grade) has a ton of homework, and we're told that middle school (8th-10th) will have more. I actually had less during middle school. In high school (1st-2nd/3rd), we basically don't have homework at all, only assignments in specific classes. Our days also reaches an average of 6 hours per day. This, of course, may vary from different schools, and whether or not they're private. But overall it's definitely less than for example the US and the UK.
omg it's different from my country, we have almost 8 hours per days and have all the time homeworks since the middle school, and I'm in high school now! :)

Hey! I know I'm not her, but I've been through high school doing the same. I was always a nerdy student and the most important thing is to not be lazy. It's really easy to waste several hours doing nothing, a lot of people don't realize that. To balance your classes, be realistic in your skill sets. I was never great at math so I only took honours, I never took AP or IB math classes, but I've always been a writer and I have an interest in social studies, so I took AP language arts, history, and psychology classes. Had I taken AP math, I know I would have needed to dedicate an hour a night just to that one class. I'm not saying not to challenge yourself, but don't take classes that you won't really have time to put the effort into. For clubs and sports, just make sure that the schedules don't clash, my rule was that I couldn't have more than one after-school activity a day unless it could also be done at home. With that rule, I was able to join Songwriting Club, direct my own shows for my directing class, join German Club, and workout almost daily since I love cosplaying, but aside from working out, I never had a long list of places to be. I admit there were some mental breakdowns, especially if I became lazy and had let work pile up, but everything became a lot easier as I got into the habit of actually being strict with myself. I admit I didn't sleep as much as I should have, I need 9 hours of sleep to feel rested but usually, I got 6 or 7 hours a night, waking up at 5:30. On really bad nights I slept very little, but those were almost always my fault for staying up too late, not my schedule's fault.
Selina Lee yeah, I’m taking 2 this year as a sophomore but they are the easier ones. I was planning to take 5 next year but I really want to focus on other things that I find interest in like volunteering (Ik it sounds cheesy but that’s what I like to do) and even just being more social...idk if I can manage that with 5 AP classes as well as 2 regular classes.

I always thought that AP classes would be tough only because the teachers themself would say that we would have no social life. When I had AP World I made sure to take notes on every chapter we read and I would always make flash cards for the key terms. Personally I did not find the class to be hard and I would say my yearning for history made the class easy. The only way the class will be hard is if you don’t put effort into it, the same can be said for AP Calc AB. When I had AP World I also had AP Spanish (my first year of Spanish), I was in cross country and track & field, and a TH-cam channel for crafts.
Like one thing is get the stuff done in class. That is sooo much nicer. If you have free time just do it in class that way you can chill. I was soo anti social so what I did was get the courage to ask the teacher to be outside the classroom and do my work. I just listen to music and get everything done. I sadly realized this at the end of my senior year sooo yeahhh. Take advantage of your resources.
I love how consistent and determined you are. You rarely let procrastination get the best of you, and juggle so many activities while with a cool head (as much as I can see, lol). Keep up the good work, and you’ll be going far!

I go to secondary school in Ireland so the idea of cheerleaders and open corridors and no uniforms is so weirdddd! Everyone seems to loud and happy at your school 😅
tbh i wish uniforms weren't mandatory however if you want to wear them then you can. I feel like for people like me who have a limited wardrobe, having a uniform is great since you don't have to constantly worry about what to wear. but, some days that are extra cold or warm id rather wear my own clothes
VENDREDIS yeah I wear a uniform and it's not the worst, but they're way more expensive and uncomfortable. My uniform would cost you €100+ by the time you got everything. Not exactly inclusive. But it is nice to not have to think about what you're wearing, and mine is not horrendously ugly.

my lacrosse team and i always do the same thing when we have away games, like at my school we're lucky to have the bathroom stocked and then a school 20 minutes away has over 10 perfectly maintained and updated floors :( and its all public school!
