Ahem, you've forgotten a Game Boy Colour/Advanced game that's very dear to my heart: Magi-Nation, which does have some pretty smooth Pokémon references. See, the point of the game was to collect these wild, magical animals known as Dream creatures. And thanks to its animé, one of the most notable Dream creatures is Furok, a blue bear-like creature with antlers that shoot energy as a defense mechanism. Now at this point, I'm left to wonder… Who else releases energy to defend themself in battle? That's right, Ash's pikachu! Also, as powerful as Furok's antlers are, they're also his weak points, which, I think, was a poor reference to pikachu too, 'cause I remember the pouches on his cheeks storing all that electricity is his weak points. I could be wrong, but I'm just pointing out these facts. Here's hoping you'll see this, and mention Magi-Nation in your next video! PS: So far, you're my favourite PokéTuber. I find it cool that Digimon made a Pokemon reference. I would laugh if in a future Pokemon game they make a Digimon reference like a side Charcters dialogue being "Since we send Pokemon to the PC when we have more than 6, you would think we would call them Digital Monsters" or something like that.

Hey dobbs, good video. I have one you'll love that you missed. There's a Metroid inspired game called Axiom Verge. Its mechanic is using glitches as your powers. There's a weapon that can glitch out enemies changing their behaviour in the world. Later in the game you'll encounter an enemy's that when you glitch out, turns into Missingno's sprite. Its pretty cool. Hope you like it

Borderlands The Pre Sequel also had a sidequest that referenced pokemon where you capture four types of one enemy called the 'Guardian' using something similar to the pokeball. And the mechanics are similar too where the lower its health the easier it is to catch.
There was also another one in Digimon Hackers Memory *spoiler warning* When Ryuji was talking about ways to punish himself he said, "Then what should I do? Something more direct, like a finger or ear? Or maybe I should go and sit on top of a freezing cold mountain!" (the last one possibly being a reference to how Red distanced himself at Mt.Silver).
It should be a rule that all video games that have achievements must have one for collecting everything in the game, and said achievement must be called "gotta catch them all."

Borderlands The Pre Sequel also had a sidequest that referenced pokemon where you capture four types of one enemy called the 'Guardian' using something similar to the pokeball. And the mechanics are similar too where the lower its health the easier it is to catch.
