Fantastic guitar - these always look and sound so great and really, really, really suit your style for me too - looked a blast to play! Fender Japan really nails these (and most of what they produce it seems!)
Yaay!! Gorgeous guitar Jim!! Lovely video as always and your playing is wildly inspiring. Fender Japan never fails to impress, got my sherwood green Jazzmaster about a week ago from this same run, surprisingly loving the pickups a great deal!
the playing always get me hooked, its refreshing to listen something different. mostly we heard blues or shred. btw, those guitar sound absolutely good.
I just got a MIJ late 60's Jaguar in Ice Metallic Blue for my graduation, I was looking for a sherwood green one though! beautiful guitar and playing style
Always a pleasure to watch you play and specially such a beautiful guitar, my dream one is a jazzmaster but of course a jaguar it's on my list too hope you're doing well! Cheers man !
Great video, great playing. The guitar looks gorgeous. Totally unrelated, but it would be really cool if you reviewed the Guild Surfliner Deluxe. It's another cool looking offset guitar. Anyway, thanks for the video.
Hey Jim I’m guessing this may be my guitar…. If so, it should be arriving today and I’m super excited to get my hands on it! Thanks for doing a quick demo/review of it and great playing, sir!!!
Damnit Jim! I'm a ROCK PLAYER, not a JAZZ GUITARIST! WHY must you always make it look so easy!? 😂 Great video as always buddy. Very inspired playing on this one for sure!🖖
Well if it makes you feel better, I don't really think I'm a jazz or rock guitarist - I just kinda play a bunch of random stuff and this is what comes out haha
I just ordered a Traditional early 60’s in Dakota Red. I ordered Pure Vintage 65 pickups as I’ve played them and it gets no better than that. I hope that I love the basswood body, definitely cut down the weight.
You likely won't notice the basswood body one way or another, lots of people overblow it as "inferior". Just bear in mind it IS a little more susceptible to picking up dings than alder. Outside of that, that particular FSR is the same model I had in shell pink and then sherwood green spec wise, it's a really comfortable guitar to play. Hope you love it!
@@AudiomoMusic yeah, I don’t see it as inferior. I don’t know if you can help. I bought a new Sunburst Japan Jaguar, a 1998 model and it was incredible. I wonder if it was basswood because even with the stock pickups, it was incredible sounding. I don’t remember being offensively heavy.
Hi Jim wow that's such a beautiful Jaguar, love it! I just stumbled across this model randomly last night and found your vid on it. This thing sounded great and nice tasty playing! My 70s CV Jag has the 9.5" radius neck. With this one being a 7.25" radius I guess it's going to be a deeper, fatter neck right? Is it harder to do bends on this kind of neck would you say? Thanks and love your channel!
Haha I often notice when people sell modern Japanese guitars people use some of my videos on Reverb on the listing, that's cool to hear something similar may have happened. The radius doesn't really have any impact on how fat the neck is, I've played some 7.25 radius necks with paper thin necks! I wouldn't say it's harder to do bends on, you're just not going to as easily get the action AS low as you would with a flatter fingerboard. This specific model of Jaguar has medium jumbo frets on it which help out a lot when it comes to bends not choking out for what it's worth. I really liked this one a lot.
@AudiomoMusic Hi Jim that's pretty interesting and good to know! I appreciate you getting back to me so soon on this. 👍 I remember reading a comment recently about Jaguars and one guy mentioned the 7.25" radius necks on Fenders being harder to do bends on etc. So that's what got me thinking. It's good to know the things you mentioned so that helps. Maybe not unlike my two Gibson SGs one has a fatter maybe more like a 50s Les Paul neck whereas the other one has the slim taper neck. When you get used to playing one it takes a bit of getting used to if you switch to the other one, but nothing impossible. Anyway these Jags seem like a great value at that $1,200 price range. Thanks again!
I just recently got the fsr 2023 Jaguar in sonic blue. It’s really nice but I’m wondering what kind of pickups are in it. On Kinko’s site it’s says vintage-style single coil Jaguar R? Are these just standard Japan made pickups? Any idea what the R stands for? I was thinking of putting pure vintage 65s in. Thanks
I also recently got the FSR Jaguar in Sonic Blue, you have great taste! The pickups are actually V-mods. In tomorrows video the guitar makes a brief cameo and I did a minor mod for a test with the factory electronics. I'll eventually replace the pickups as well, but it might be decent food for thought.
Not really, it's slightly bigger at the first fret than Fender modern C but doesn't have a huge taper like an American Original would and the more narrow nut width helps make it feel a bit smaller than it really is.
At least do it more often, it really does make it a unique and great mix of vintage and modern. Some of the best vintage guitars I've played were refretted with bigger frets and I loved em
@@AudiomoMusic Yes, cool. I saw the new 2023 Traditionals have 9.5 radius with vintage frets. I wonder how that is, and after seeing this, also wonder why they don't put medium jumbos on these.
I had a FSR mustang from Japan's 2021 collection that had those same specs... it was a great playing guitar but definitely a bit strange to get used to.
@@AudiomoMusic hmm, not sure that's good or bad :) I do have my eyes on a 2023 Collection Jaguar. I wish it was located nearby so I could try it out first. They look great otherwise, but the thought of wanting to refret a new guitar is...
Fantastic guitar - these always look and sound so great and really, really, really suit your style for me too - looked a blast to play! Fender Japan really nails these (and most of what they produce it seems!)
They do a stellar job and I just happen to sound passable on them haha
Yaay!! Gorgeous guitar Jim!! Lovely video as always and your playing is wildly inspiring. Fender Japan never fails to impress, got my sherwood green Jazzmaster about a week ago from this same run, surprisingly loving the pickups a great deal!
Nice pickup! Those also went really quick, I saw a few were really really lightweight too.
the playing always get me hooked, its refreshing to listen something different. mostly we heard blues or shred. btw, those guitar sound absolutely good.
The reality is, I am not good enough to shred or play blues so I settle for this hahaha
I enjoyed this, found this helpful, uselful AND entertaining! 😊
This is basically a perfect TH-cam comment
This made me smile and laugh to myself, I apprecaite it thanks man
That Jag is so beautiful man. Has me thinking I might have to clear out some inventory to get my hands on one. Also great playing!
Thanks man and yes, it's a tough business to be in... it was sold before I filmed the demo and man I seriously questioned refunding it after haha
Been looking forward to you showing us another offset and a very nice one indeed!! 🎸🎸
I love offsets, but I have a really special one that I've been hiding for a bit now you'll all see pretty soon
I just got a MIJ late 60's Jaguar in Ice Metallic Blue for my graduation, I was looking for a sherwood green one though! beautiful guitar and playing style
Beautiful guitar and a beautiful color! I just got a MIM one just like this same color and all and I’m happy and impressed with it.
Amazing, I just love Jaguars. The ocean turquoise on the MIM's are very classy indeed
Another stunner!
Simply gorgeous, a shame they rarely do these.
That is the Jaguar I want to buy, that exact same combo! one day, one day!
Now that I know that if I see one again I'll shoot you a message, this is a tough one to come by
Always a pleasure to watch you play and specially such a beautiful guitar, my dream one is a jazzmaster but of course a jaguar it's on my list too hope you're doing well! Cheers man !
They made this color combo and same spec with Jazzmasters too!!! Really classy stuff and thanks I appreciate it
Jim, I just purchased a 2023 Collection MIJ Traditional Late 60s Jaguar - Ice Blue Metallic and it just was shipped. Should be here next week.
That's great to hear!!! I have been interested in one of those too, I can't wait to hear what you think of it
Great playing. Great tones. Smashing guitar!
Thanks James, this was an absolute blast to film

It is! Hope you love it man it's awesome!
The Jag just arrived and it’s absolutely perfect! Looks even better in person!!!
Absolutely beautiful guitar, I’ve yet to own an offset. Eventually I’ll have to pick one up.
Be careful, it can get addicting really fast and there are way too many to pick from haha
Awesome playing
Thanks man I apprecaite it, I was really feeling it that day- this was a damn good guitar.
Good stuff. Excellent "Jag-appropriate" demo playing.
I did my best hahaha

@@AudiomoMusic Well what comes out is quite pleasant, sir!
I was deciding between the Player II or Vintera II which narrowed to Rosewood Fretboard vs having the circuits. Think I found my answer
i hope it's the rhythm circuit because they are so undervalued it makes me sick haha
@@AudiomoMusic For sure, probably why ill go for a Japanese Traditional Jag

Is that for sure Sherwood Green? Looks like Lake Placid Blue to me. Could it be the camera?
100% sherwood green, might be a filter throwing you off from the video coloring but it was extremely sherwood in the house haha
Hey man. You ever get a Jag Humbucker Humbucker in? Curious what you would think of that.

Which pickups are you considering?/ recommend for a jag?
A set I already have, lindy fralin stock with 10% overwound bridge
What a great video have a wonderful weekend also stay safe Jim
I've been doing my best I think you are doing ok Amin
hola. Que microfono usaste para la toma del amplificador?
SM57
I'd like to know from the start what the shipping costs for MIJs are (and not have to go searching for them).
It varies depending on the shop and your location. There is no flat rate.
That is awesome!!
Thanks Deb, I love the old school custom colors like this!
@@AudiomoMusic me too.

I have to agree about the crappy gig bags. Nothing spoils a new guitar day like unzipping another cheap bag.
I guess it's not verboten then to put medium jumbos on a 7.25 neck. Why can't they do that always?

Are you Italian? You look and act like me, I am Italian. Your strait to the point. I like that. I have severe anxiety like you.
Not Italian, I just grew up in NY so I have it in my blood to talk too fast and say the first thing that pops up into my head at any given moment haha
