Oh my goodness l love that bag!!! Love that Klimt and gold is the theme. Love His art. Enjoy yourself. Can’t wait to see all the fun stuff you learn and do at the festival. 💕🌸
I love live love the trolley. Dear Barbara have fun on the retreat. And thank you for inspiring me to get out other mediums then distress oxide😅. I just want to say: You rock Barbara, keep inspiring us! Your followers are generous because you are generous with sharing your creations and ideas. ❤. Now I want to look into that insert you bought😅
Oh wow!! Super helpful tips for packing and what to take! I’m going to be away from my studio for 6 weeks and I’m wondering what to take and how to pack…love it all! Great video! 🤩💖🙏🎨
Great video! I was amazed that you were able to pack all of those supplies and tools in that bag and insert! Enjoy the workshop, can’t wait to see what you do!❤
I can visualize you walking the streets of beautiful Vienna pulling your bag of sunshine, and that makes me smile. 😊 Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend of creativity and can’t wait to hear all about it! ❤
Wow so pretty your yellow big craft supplies bag! I wish you lots of inspiration and joy at the Art festival Barbara. Love to see the next video. Greetings Maia
I neglect my pastels too 🙈. Yes that's a pipette😁. Excellent pile of supplies, you've got everything covered! That's a very handy looking bag and insert! I love seeing everything so organised lol. 👏👏👏 looking forward to seeing some of your festival. I've never attended anything like that, so exciting! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Umm… I admire so much how organized you are! Can’t believe you got all your supplies so neatly and efficiently packed. About halfway through this video, I was thinking you might need an ocean liner trunk 😂. Congrats for a job well done! Have fun!
Thank you for sharing that - what fun to see what you packed and how you did it! I love things that organize (bags, pouches, etc.). I've gone on quilting trips but I didn't need that many things. Although, dragging a sewing machine around is not a lot of fun - I didn't do it often ... if I would have then I would have gotten a roller bag for the machine. Enjoy your workshops!!! (from Washington State, US)
Wow! You did a great job at packing all that up. I love the rolling cart and the insert is perfect. The only thing I would have done different would be to put the paint brushes in either a canvas brush roll or one of those expandable plastic brush holders. Only because they were sticking up and you put all those pouches on top. I would worry about them getting messed up. I hope you have, or had, if it’s over, a wonderful and creative time at the event.
Great choice for toting your art supplies with you! I am on the road and in New Mexico right now and your video reminded me that I forgot my heat gun and my brayer. 🤦♀ Guess I'll have to find a Hobby Lobby or a Michael's somewhere. Poor me. Have fun at the festival. Can't wait to see what you learn and create!
WOW I was looking at your desk thinking there is no way in the world anyone could take all that stuff. And then you managed to put it all in that one bag. LOVE IT!! I am thinking about looking into my first art retreat just so I can learn to use a gel plate and this is so helpful. Thanks. ~ Patti
Wow! You did an amazing job of picking and choosing a wide variety of tools and supplies to take on your retreat and found the perfect bag and insert to travel with. I am so impressed! I love this idea, even to use at home since I am easily overwhelmed by the volume of options available to me and get stuck before I even start. Thanks for sharing your inspiration and expertise! HAVE FUN! 🙂
I had to laugh. This looks like what I tote on a normal day. LOL I love art and supplies! I have a crate in my car that I always load up, wherever I go.
This video was so timely for me. I am going to babysit my granddaughter for a week and want to pack some art items for us to do. I think I will have plenty. Thanks for all your organizing tips.
Hi Barbara, that was very enjoyable to watch. I love your organizer bag, ❤️❤️❤️ it's perfect for the art supplies that I'm using everyday, I'm going to order one. Have a wonderful time at the festival!!! b 🦋
I love your new bag and your insert. I’m sure creating things this year will feel better because you got to bring more of your own tools. I’m so excited for you. Can’t wait to see everything. ♥️♥️♥️
I remember last year before the first season of this festival, you didn't like these bright and florescent colors. After you attended it, you started to love them too much 😅
Oh bless you Barbara! ❤. Never knowingly under equipped!!! 😂 have a fabulous time. I thought you might be setting up a sales stand with all that stuff. Caroline xxxx
How fun! I have never been to a crafting or art retreat before. It is on my bucket list. And if I ever do, I’m coming back to this video because it sure seems like you have this down to a science! Thanks for sharing. I hope you have a marvelous time! Hugs 🤗❤️
Wow! This was facinating. I was drooling over all of your supplies, and soooo impressed with your transportation/storage solutions. 👍 Have a wonderful time - I can't wait to see what's next! 😊🧡💚🤎
Hi Barbara! I know you haven’t got enough art supplies 😜 but do you have a set of Brushos? As a fellow perfectionist who struggles to let go of control of my art, and someone who loves colour, Brushos were an incredible find as they are hard to control but create the most amazing effects when you let them do their own thing with water. Also, Ward Gene Stroud is an amazing artist who can actually show how to control Brushos (to an extent) & uses them to create incredible effects. My favourite images of his are a gorgeous dragonfly, zebra & a sea turtle. And… a fantastic technique to try to make some beautiful marbled papers, is to get a container large enough for whatever paper you want to use (can use any, but if you use copy paper, you can sometimes get an effect on both sides in one dip). Fill it with water, drop a few drops of 2-3 colours of alcohol ink (more becomes a bit overwhelming), then, using a straw or Tim Holtz hand air blower, or very gently creating a current using a skewer (without touching too much ink), or dropping some plain alcohol in with a pipette (yes you pronounced it perfectly!), create some movement of the alcohol drops. Then gently lie a piece of paper on top of the water, make sure there are no air bubbles 🫧 (you can sink the edges too to get some of the ink that was pushed to the sides to creep onto the back of the page), leave it for 5 seconds, pull it out & tada…. No mess (well, way less mess than shaving cream), inexpensive custom marbled papers, with beautiful transparent colours. From what I can tell, there’s a bit of resin in the alcohol ink which sets (to varying degrees depending on the colour & brand) when it comes in contact with the water, and this adheres to the paper when you lie it on top. I haven’t seen anyone else try this technique (although no doubt it is out there) so I haven’t timed how long can you leave it for it to still work, and I tended to move reasonably quickly (but still a pretty relaxed pace), so you should have time to easily add your colours & create a pattern without it setting too much to be unusable. If there’s any ink left over on the water after you dip your page, just use your skewer or another piece of paper to drag over the top to clean it, so you can start a new page with different colours. And enjoy! You can add other media over the top (admittedly, haven’t tried watercolour, so not sure if it creates a resist) & if you drip a few drops slowly into the same space, you can create a rose effect. Especially if you gently use a skewer to create petals. I’ll send these tips to you in an email in case you want to try it. Just another technique to add to the arsenal for creating beautiful junk journal pages 😊 Have an amazing time at the Art Journal Festival. Really wish I could come too. Kind regards, Carrie
Oh I hope you try them. They’re such fun. Kind of like crystallised Distress Oxides sprays, with the way they come to life & different colours appear within each colour. Just make sure there’s no breeze on your desk or they’ll colour everything
What a nice list of art supplies! I'll be meeting with a few ladies to "do art" together in about 10 days, and what a lovely list for me to go by so I won't forget anything! Hugs! (Since you asked, In the states we way "Pipettes" with a long "I.")
Thanks so much for sharing Barbara! I’m going to my first retreat in July. I got lots of good ideas. Love your wheeled organizer. Luckily the TUAC in person retreat is in a small town in Kansas so I don’t need wheels. 💛❤️
I saw you packing your awl and thought oohw wat if it pierced a hole in your bag. What I did for protection is stick the awl in a cork from a wine bottle. It’s not heavy is easy to get your awl out of and keeps the sharp point nice and protected… 🙃 I hope you had a wonderful time crafting on your retreat! Anca from the Netherlands.
It looked like so much but every item you showed will be absolutely necessary. You really did think of it all and it fit so nicely into your happy yellow bag. I hope you have a ball and can't wait to see what happens. hint: poke your awl into a wine cork for safer travel.
B - I do so appreciate the research you did… I just ordered both items!!!!! I think you did a great job. Looking forward to hearing about the retreat….!!!! Jackie
Hope you’re having an amazing time at the art festival! I’m really looking forward to seeing what you experience this year! I will actually be visiting your beautiful city in just over a week, it’s more than 20 years since I was last in Wien, so it will be so nice to return!
I love this! What a great job of organizing and packing. I think pulling out the insert to use on your table is genius! Did you ever try the chalk markers on black paper? Maybe they would look more chalky. 🤔🤔🤔
Oh my goodness sweetie ❤ how many days did it gake you to choose? 😊 I can totally relate to all the choices and to wanting to have a bag that is easy to transport and has an organiser inside 👍👍👍 big hug

Are you taking a cutting mat? a "glue" book? The glue book would double as something to use with the awl if you construct a journal...
Nope, didn’t have either, but it’s ok 😊
@@49dragonflies Looking forward to how things turned out 🙂
Chalk markers maybe supposed to be used on black boards? Like old school boards?
i believe those are “chalk” for writing on glass, windows , mirror rather than paper
I think the chalk markers are for marking on chalkboard, then it looks like chalk
Oooooh ok 😃
