@@JustinTrev I started off around 65-68 on the flat stuff, noticed temps were a little high (nothing scary, just a tad higher than I liked) once I hit the “hills” and temps went way high I stayed 60 and under. It helped on the flat ground quite a bit but same story on hills. It was also 115 outside the entire time there and back, so I’m sure that didn’t help LOL. I’ve been looking into some things like 160 thermostat, air-oil cooler, etc etc etc etc just not sure I’ll tow that trailer much with this truck. Maybe once a year, and I don’t plan on keeping this truck for too much longer. Not sure it’s worth much investment, but considering it.
@@jcsphotography9318 pretty much any box type trailer I’ve towed with any truck I’ve owned I end up somewhere between 8-12 mpg, usually 9-10 depending on the hills, etc. just seems to be a bit of the towing magic number 😂
@@jcsphotography9318 yep exactly. Side x side / jeep / etc on a flat bed usually 12-15, any box style rather enclosed or camper, etc usually 9-10ish. Has been the same story with my old duramax, powerstroke, and now ecoboost
What speed were you towing at? Also to keep temps down you get the fans programmed to come on at a lower temp, and a air-oil cooler

@@LMGConnoisseur 9.4 mpg round trip, little over 500 miles total. Pretty much on par with anything in the segment aside from baby diesels.
@@BadoreksDailys i haul a 27ft camper with my explorer sport. 3.5 eco. Get the same mileage. Camper weighs loaded 6k ish. so less than yours.

@@BadoreksDailys yup. I tow my jeep and trailer 8,400ish lbs i get 12.5-13. But it doesn’t have the wind drag like a camper or box trailer.
