It is very interesting and touching interview, please Selome invite him again in your studio as one to one interview because he has lots of experience that he can share to us. Thank you
It would be much interesting if you would have uploaded the English version too since his English quite lovely and being he is eloquent. Dear Solomie your so awesome and independently genuine. I have too much respect and love please keep shining.
I think that is because this program is for Ethiopian audiences. The english version of his story is all over the internet. However, I understand what you mean about his powerful ways in english presentation.
The women, who asked the first question had leaft her heart and MIND at home like an identity less SLAVE. She had only brought with her, her ability to speak English.........at such a mature age, encompassed by her, one expects a sophisticated level of resoning , and outlook.👎💚💛💖💚💛💖💚💛💖
Excellent Lemn! However, I was so touched by the first question from the audience ( the older lady), kiddos to Lemn for answering for all not only those adopted to foreign family and tried to comeback to connect but also some of the diaspora’s who struggled to settle down away from family. It’s heartbreaking when your pain and hurt of being away from the family of origin is seen as privilege. This is way widespread and you just have to see the wide spreading mental health issues with the diasporas. I wish this being discussed widely so the family who are sending their young kids away are able to recognise their roles of providing unconditional love. I meant unconditional, no material based. Yes we may get good English or even education but nothing replace loss of belongingness and lack of self worth. Selome, please keep this topic on the table. Lemn, you may write the book for UK audience but you are an example of such a rooted issues among our not intentionally but sadly existed in our relationship with our family once we leave the country... it scars most of us for life and we can’t even talk about it as we are seen ungrateful for the privilege of breathing foreign air. Your fellow Ethiopian Londoner
Selome, am a big fan!!! Thank you for your leadership in Ethiopian media proficiency. Whenever your name pops up, I think of inspiration. p.s. I think the social worker is a man (not a female). Not that it matters but that is what I know from previous iinformations about him.
Ethiopia needs you and your legacy for the generations to come, Lemn! Here is why. I relate to Lemn with his every valid questions and emotions, inside waiting to burst anytime. I, llike everyonelse who walks this life, went through my own journey. It's a burden to try to contain these emotions as an awakened human because I continue to observe violation of dignity despite of the fact this right is given, not earned. In the faith( not religion) I have, I pray that Lemn also have his God's company, inner-peace and support that he craves in his journey. Because I do not believe that his quest is done yet, not even close. May he succeed all the way to the benefit of human diginty. As he said, he is not blaming individuals but the system that everyone of us contribute to flourish. How do we replace a broken system like this? By starting to question "why?!".. and how to be a part of the solution, not the problem. His questions are profoundly timeless, valid and personal. It is also universal in a way that any human being must ask herself/himself regardless of life's priviledge. So, his journey was definitely not a coincidence. Mother nature made him everything he is to benefit humanity. Ethiopia (so to say mother earth), yet gave birth to this passionate and utterly determined human through a painful experience. Ethiopia is more than we Ethiopians ourselves are. Ethiopia is deep with its endless.. undiscovered spiritual treasures, and you are EXACTLY where you need to be. Yessss Lemn, track it back! Tebarek!
So humble I love Lemin Sisay!
