FYI: If you took the time to watch the trial and the witness testimony, and the areas both skiers were skiing just before the accident --- you'd know that Paltrow was keeping in her narrow lane to the far right looking downhill, while that other dude (Terry Sanderson, a 76-year old, retired optometrist with a bad temper) was doing "wide arcs" behind her and literally hit Paltrow from the side and back. Sanderson apologized to Paltrow after the accident. Then much later, told folks that he was going to be famous for hitting a celebrity. Then, during trial, it came out that his skiis were pointing at Paltrow when he hit her. Dude is trying to get a payday.
I'm glad GP didn't settle, so we can all see just how ridiculous this lawsuit is. This cross almost seals it for me. I see this is going the direction of "man is too prideful to accept the fact he's physically/cognitively/mentally deteriorating and his reputation/notoriety dwindling, so he's willing to do anything to gain it all. Aging? Prior disorders? No it can't be. It MUST be a celebrity who 'clashed' with him. @@Woodman-Spare-that-tree I agree. They need to be more aggressive. Any other lawyer would have torn this Doctor apart. However, he is doing an okay job because the Defendant is looking stupid right about now.
@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree My guess is that these were the only lawyers available for insurance. Furthermore, I personally think that bringing "big city LA lawyers" gives the message of "rich elite goes after little rural guy to shut him up" appearance and won't help GP's case.

First of all CONGATS! Second of all, what a very sweet andkind comment about Bruce. I love this channel for many reasons. Of course he is so funny, his videos are just long enough to be informative and he has always been spot on with his commentary. I am a FAN!
Congrats. I was an assistant public defender for several years. It's a tough job but you do have the satisfaction of knowing that you're providing good legal representation to people who can't afford to hire private lawyers. And you will definitely get trial experience. Three things to work on, hard -- 1. Developing your cross-examination skills; 2. Being well-versed in the grounds for trial objections; 3. Keeping up with new case law that provides grounds for pre-trial motions. In my experience, prosecutors get more support from their office on these matters than PD lawyers do.
Totally agree. If he can’t remember anything, isn’t it lucky he remembers that Gwyneth hit him????? And if this guy can’t remember anything then drop the case. And multiple personalities. Oh please. Now I know why Gwyneth took him to court and didn’t settle.
Bruce left out the best part - after the lawyer kept pressing and asking if she ever gave Taylor Christmas gifts the judge sarcastically said "Ask her about Oprah". 😂
Something he said when he answered the defence lawyer that makes me think he's a compulsive liar is, “I… Not if you have it on record, no.”, He just said to me that he won't admit the truth unless you have evidence that proves he's lying.
Yeah, I was on his side until watching & listening to him on stand. He reminds me of an old boss who just couldn’t keep things straight, so frustrating to deal with what with the constantly changing rules & dishonesty.
I caught that too, but later he clarified he doesnt remember saying that but if it's on record he has no reason to doubt he did say it just don't remember now. Cut him some slack it's very easy to misspeak in a way that can be interpreted very negatively. I don't think this particular statement says anything negative about his personality... or one of his apparently multiple personalities :DD
“That’s the other personality that’s inhabiting my body right now” 😂 this has got to be the closest we’ll get to comedy since that died off. Typically people aren’t aware of the other personalities while one of them takes over. This shit is gold
Love it, "Why did you do it?"....."Its the other personality inhabiting my body"....UMM , maybe can use this in my arsenal of excuses as to why I.behaved badly
I thought that a patient with MPD can be triggered, under stress. That these personalities can be the extreme contrasts from one another. That, at any moment, another personality can come through... This reminds me of a typical elderly driver incident, where an old person does something to cause a wreck and swear up and down that it wasn't their fault. I think that's what happened here, he caused the accident and thought it was her fault and sued, finding out after the fact that he was actually at fault but not wanting to admit he was wrong.
He had footage of the whole thing on Go Pro that has conveniently vanished! I admire your faith in humanity but don't think this is the case here. The minute the instructor revealed to his friend who he crashed into, it was all 🤑🤑 $$$ in their eyes and thus started this whole charade
Hey Bruce, I would love to hear your take on the prosecution (the woman attorney)stating that GP lied under oath several times, of course, the jury was not in the court room when that was said. GPs' facial expression was priceless.
There was one point where this guy was doing all sorts of tongue-movements. It reminded me of that crazy guy they had on the stand in the Depp/Heard trial that was doing all sorts of tongue-y stuff.

I had asked how long he served. I thought maybe he was exposed to agent orange. I was told, he served 3 months as an ophthalmologist. I don't know where he served.
I so love watching your channel and your observations and input to testimonies and lawyers. I gain understanding to what we are seeing. Love your humor!!! Thank you for your work.
This guy is definitely making up a lot of his side of the story as he says a lot of contradictions. I feel GP has been the opposite she knew exactly what happened and hasn’t changed her story.
I thought GP’s attorney was a bit off the rails initially but I can now see his methodology…..let ppl think he’s loopy but in fact he’s razor sharp & precise
I think the prosecuter made an excellent point having him talk about his girlfriend carla, and how many miles apart they were, driving 300 miles back and forth to see eachother, because at one point he was crying saying he forced her to leave him due to him feeling like she didn't deserve a debilitated man, and she should move on. His health issues "supposedly" impacted their relationship. Yet he drove 300 miles one way? To see eachother. Great point he drove in there.
Omg I forgot all about Sanderson saying he shrunk 3 inches 😂😂😂... That was hysterical... Then when forced into a corner he says "yeah I did, I couldn't believe it either" lmao 🤣
"By the way, you've hurt yourself before, skiing, haven't you?" I love all the little phrasing moments like this, it's very "have you stopped beating your wife yet?" and it's effective
This reminds me of one of those Netflix shows where there isn’t a single likeable person in the whole story. In this real life tale, the judge is the only decent human in the cast.
It couldn't have been that hard of a collision if his skis were still on at the end of it. I've skied since I was 2 years old. Skis come off pretty easily in a crash.
Well some of the injuries like the broken ribs aren't really in question. The extent of the concussion and it's following effects are what was being questioned. I don't see him breaking 4 ribs from a slow impact.
@@zero1343 When you are older you are more prone to breaking bones. Your bones are weaker. That is why old people can die in a car crash that would not have killed a younger person. I laughed too. Like yeah, he totally developed DID (dissociative identity disorder, the current clinical name of “multiple personality disorder”) at age, what?, 65 from the trauma of falling down while on a skiing vacation?
Right.
He’d be a medical marvel if that were the case, lol.
Multiple personality disorder is likely fake.
Oh I laughed too lol That just made everything else he said BS to me

@@robertallen7742 Right?! I was embarrassed for her lol and she just just seemed so fake! Completely disingenuous! It's like she was trying to 'look good' and seem 'likeable' but, it did the opposite and just was so cringe! Yikes!😮
This whole trial is so ridiculous. All the lawyers all the family witnesses. Wild. I can’t even believe this went to trial ☠️
I agree, many trials should be rejected for idiocy straight away.
This guy threw a figure at Paltrow. Believing she would pay to make case go away. Never believeing he would actually end up in court. Now looking stupid!
Colonel Sanders already lost in court versus Deer Valley Resort.
back of ski pass says something like ski resort takes no responsibility ... according to instructor ? and where's Iron Man 🤣🇪🇺🇮🇪
Yep!!
@@ericafors6039 why in the world would he sue the resort!? He took the risk! Can he make it any more obvious what he’s out for🤑what a waste of everyone’s time!
But, at any time he could have dismissed the law suit and he did not. Big ego and lots of pent up rage.
One of the daughters can't accept daddy's not daddy anymore, so she's willing to bend statements to fit his narrative." GP is the only coherent one in this ENTIRE case, including lawyers. This is asinine
Yes, good for her. I'm sure she is pissed that this guy claims the exact opposite of what happened.
Even GP’s lawyers are useless
@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree I agree. They need to be more aggressive. Any other lawyer would have torn this Doctor apart. However, he is doing an okay job because the Defendant is looking stupid right about now.
💯🎯
@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree My guess is that these were the only lawyers available for insurance. Furthermore, I personally think that bringing "big city LA lawyers" gives the message of "rich elite goes after little rural guy to shut him up" appearance and won't help GP's case.
When I watched the testimony last night, I knew Bruce would explain why all the objections kept being overruled. I could not wait for this video! I watched the short clip here last night and I hoped when I woke up this would be here. Thank you, Bruce! I love having the added dimension of your expert comments. ❤
I wonder if this guy is far more nefarious than we think he is. What if he somehow saw GP earlier on and purposefully targeted her in-order to get a payday out of her.
I am starting to believe that's exactly what happened. I think there is a chance here, he saw a payday.
I think that too because there’s no way he could have recognized her with helmet, goggles and face cover when the incident happened
Decent chance I suppose though impossible to prove.
I bet he did
I agree that he is nefarious but i dont think he is after money in the first place. He has to cope with his age and his body not keeping up as it did and he wont admit thats just age nobody is at fault. And so hes trying to find someone that he can blame and punish them.
I love Bruce's commentary and laugh ❤
Popcorn Planet on their channel had a really great breakdown of catching this guy not only lying, but also him talking about going skiing several times again, but saying he can't ski anymore

CONGRATULATIONS!!! GOOD LUCK!!!👍
First of all CONGATS! Second of all, what a very sweet andkind comment about Bruce. I love this channel for many reasons. Of course he is so funny, his videos are just long enough to be informative and he has always been spot on with his commentary. I am a FAN!
Congratulations! I hope it's everything you wanted!
I love the little twinkle in the defendant council's eyes as he cross examines this guy. Priceless 😅
She's smiling when she asks these questions like she's doing so well. Lmao
@BruceRiversCLR
You’re my new favorite! I freaking love your candor and open thoughts. It’s like I think it, and then you say it lol!!!
Totally agree. If he can’t remember anything, isn’t it lucky he remembers that Gwyneth hit him????? And if this guy can’t remember anything then drop the case. And multiple personalities. Oh please. Now I know why Gwyneth took him to court and didn’t settle.
Pretty awesome getting an inside look from a real criminal defense lawyer. Definitely helps me understand the motive behind the questioning
Nice coverage, Bruce! You make it fun, and understandable!
Bruce left out the best part - after the lawyer kept pressing and asking if she ever gave Taylor Christmas gifts the judge sarcastically said "Ask her about Oprah". 😂
Oh wow this is like comedy routine.
it was her lawyer not the judge that said that about Oprah
I hope you are doing one for the bio mechanics engineer yesterday... that was pure gold.....
That caught my attention too.
I caught that too.

Best commentary I’ve heard on this case yet.
Love it, "Why did you do it?"....."Its the other personality inhabiting my body"....UMM , maybe can use this in my arsenal of excuses as to why I.behaved badly
😂😂😂😂 yeah, it was my other personality that forced me to sleep in today😂😂😂😂
I thought that a patient with MPD can be triggered, under stress. That these personalities can be the extreme contrasts from one another. That, at any moment, another personality can come through... In all of these years, has ANY one affiliated with this BS case, been witness to this Jerk switching up his personalities?
I think this is a years long stalking. I give Gwyneth Paltrow a lot of credit because this guy is really creepy. I don’t think I could do it.😝
The super rich people on that resort are not gonna get yelled at by an instructor making nothing, this guy is laughable

I watched the physics testimony on Instagram, then came here for more. Watched his guy’s testimony and thought “is he trying to lose?” The I watched your video and it basically confirmed what I was seeing, but with additional insight into the strategy.
Imagine making Gwyneth Paltrow in all her weirdness a sympathetic character. When she wins her dollar plus attorney’s fees $10 says she doesn’t even push to collect it if the guy just apologizes to her. And the dude probably won’t.
It’s honestly amazing how someone could make themselves way more unlikable than GP. That should be considered a talent in itself. I never imagined myself to be rooting for her win
@@BreakofDawn haha I agree. These two people seem to me to be rather narcissistic (full of themselves). Except GP has had a lifetime to be this way. Show biz family. While Terry is trying to make the most of his 15 minutes of fame. I don’t find either of them very likable.
I love hearing your analysis. It’s like a little educational session. Thank you for your work.
So, I've gone from thinking GP was guilty (based on nothing), to being convinced the guy is a lying, greedy shyster, to now being so sad for him because he is a sick person, but not sick like he says he is.
I find GP very unlikeable, but you're right, this man is very sick.
Agree completely!
@@jenerin905 I find her very likeable in this courtroom, especially compared to the other guy and his lawyer, to the point I have to keep reminding myself she's a stupid pseudoscience snake oil peddler. Which of course does not make her guilty in this skiing accident.

Must say i figured she must be innocent, if she skied into someone the thing would be to pay them off right away… if innocent, she would not want to let the idea stick that she did it… Turned out to be sort of painful but really interesting to watch the trial. Def she did not ski into this man, no. Must say I learned a lot, from the expert witnesses of the defense especially. Very nice judge and some beautiful moments thanks to her lawyers also.

Sanderson did such a poor job as a witness..if I and many ppl saw that through the screen, I sure hope the jury sees through his bs
It’s basically if he lies about some things the jury is more liable to think he lied about more things
Great job, Bruce! I'm glad you focused on Sanderson's cross examination because Owen's (Paltrow's attorney) was getting hammered on some other channels. I think he did a great job with the cross, which I believe is one of the most important moments of the trial, up to now.

I really look forward to your videos. So much more entertaining than the usual legal reviews on You Tube. Thanks for keeping it real .
On the other hand elderly people are also used as causers of car accidents of two other parties to extort money.
Love these videos! Great legal insight, delivered in a “tell it like it is” way. I always learn something new AND I’m entertained at the same time. 🙂
