When i heard about this glitch, I tought your creature would noclip inside a bigger one, and as the big one tried to move forward in a vain attemp to properly eat you, it would “chase” you and move as you moved... BUT NOPE, JUST COMPLETELY REPLACING SEVERAL FILES PERMANENTLY ALLOWING FOR YOU TO COMPLETE THE CELL STAGE WITHOUT EVER MATING AND IN UNDER A MINUTE
That is awesome! This would be cool if becoming a mind controlling parasite was one of the forms you could take and turn all the creatures into a hivemind of sorts.
This would make a great mod honestly. Like at the cell stage where it has carnivore and herbavore, it would add a parasitic option where you control the brain of another creature.

I saw what happened. You are a piece of food when you were eaten the first time, and it made the game not have your character and so it just controlled the next closest thing. After that, the death script just stopped working and you controlled whatever ate you.
I remember doing this only twice back in 2014.. I didn't have any mods, but this is definitely a thing that can happen in the base game- but I haven't been able to replicate it at all!

You know how when you push yourself into a large creature, you can sort of gradually push through them, cause they're not solid? I did that until I was pretty much centred on the megamouth and when it bit me, the game stuttered a bit and the camera switched to the megamouth.. it was bizarre, I thought it was some hidden intentional feature because the creature worked fine.. and when I went into the editor, I was able to move these new un-obtainable body parts around.. I've never been able to recreate it more than once around the same time, but I'm glad I saw this video.. so I know it's a documented bug.. and I was lucky enough to experience it. I'm pretty sure I pulled this off on the disk version of the game.. not sure if that's relevant, but yeah.

They even did the mating call with you! I think you found a test feature that probably was not properly taken out of the game. Lucky find!

The bigger question is whether any of those mods have been updated/altered since, and whether this glitch is only accessible on certain platforms (ex. only Mac)

My original cell was also blind, and i stayed blind until I respawned. I tried to edit the cell but it wouldnt let me save and play it. I haven't been able to trigger it again. I just got the cute and creepy expansion, might have something to do with that.
In 1:31 you can see a Ducky in the same size for a puffish, that's not normal. Just hack several files. And in 1:55 you can see a puffish fight a buzzy puffish, not normal.

I just had a swapping glitch in creature stage. There was a nest with cacoons in it next to my nest, but one of them was inside my nest for some reason. When i started mating the cacoon opened. When i exited the creature creator, the creature that came from the cacoon was my mother and was wandering around my nest as it was from my same specie. It disappeared after i befriended its original nest
I might've figured out what was going on! Basically, the glitcher somehow corrupted the death animation (not deleted it), and the moment he was eaten, death animation was supposed to be playing, but it didn't. So the game can't crash (there's no reason), and as a last option, game controlled the eater. So how to replicate: 1. Corrupt the death animation so it doesn't play. 2. Profit
But the point is to do it without mods (at least according to wiki it's possible). About using an "early version", I don't think it's necessary, as I don't know any Spore update with "major bugfixes" included
@@smartuniverse7141 I think its worth exploring, nobody else has managed to replicate the bug after over 10 years. Galactic adventures was a big change for the game and added a lot of features. Maybe when they added it they unintentionally fixed the bug that allowed corrupting the death animation.

this happens why :the cell enter in the mouth and DONT let he bit him.and then,that cell fouds a braind and think its food,the eat it and take his own brain to the enemy body,then he possess the enemy!

This happened to me a few days ago in cell stage and wen the huge purple poison squid cell ate me and I became it. I was like what the hell wared my cell go? I don't want to be this crap guy.
It appears that you levelled up at the same time as entering the mouth, which may have caused the glitch. However, mods were being used, so that may have caused it, too.
Do you know how to cause this glitch? Do you swim straight in the mouth of an epic, or were you doing that because you had already noticed that you had the glitch?

But isn't the death animation supposed to be playing after you're eaten? It just doesn't play even after you're eaten 4 times in a row.

This is happening to me as well. I'm using Steam with PlatinumSpore2.0, BetterSpore1.5.1, Dark Injection (2013_DI.package), and dr. pepper bot parts.

That’s actually the first type of evolution: bigger cells eat smaller cells and fuse, so that the small ones use the other one as a protection
If that's "the first type" of evolution you wouldn't have different sized cells/bacteria.

Basically, the glitcher somehow corrupted the death animation (not deleted it), and the moment he was eaten, death animation was supposed to be playing, but it didn't. So the game can't crash (there's no reason), and as a last option, game controlled the eater.
So how to replicate:
