    I have a facsimile of the 1611 by Henderson. I actually think the older spelling is easier to read sometimes or makes more sense. There are not unnecessary or as many silent letters that do not need to be in words.

    I would love to have a bible that big to read from

    They actually made a smaller, less expensive version of this, And the majority of the text was in Roman font rather than Gothic font, the Almanac was solely in Gothic font, and the scripture text was in Roman font.
    it sold for like $60 or $70, I have that version

      The gothic font is better

      @@syriacchristianity9007 depends on who you ask. personally, i prefer the roman font, i can actually read it

      I just can’t get over the v’s where u’s should be and it’s very similar to any Bible, gothic print is more of an experience.

    Once you put that 30 lb
    1611 King James down,
    the term “Bible thumper”
    had wholly/Holy? new and improved meaning!💢📖

    Wow, I gotta have one of those! Could you please compare it with the ESV Pulpit Bible? Those two would make excellent collector’s items!

    It certainly is beautiful,as you said! Unfortunately for me, it also comes with a beautiful price tag: a full grand!😢 Well, I can still dream anyway...

    @Bible Buying Guide, that paper is a lot heavier than 60 gsm as photocopier paper is 80 gsm min that paper looks more like 120 gsm. Though a nice review of original KJV.

      @BibleBuyingGuide  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! It's really hard for me to tell. It feels thinner than the 100gsm in the Lecturn KJV from Cambridge, but the texture is a lot different, so it could be that's throwing it off for me. It's awesome paper and has more of a watercolor paper feel, similar to cloth.

    It's not like the size is going to make it more believable.

      You've never read the full Bible with the intention of examining its claims. Here me well, mocker. Understand that one day you WILL stand before this Christ you now mock and blaspheme. Repent now, while He still grants you breath to do so.

      The point of making it this big in 1611 was to make it readable on the lectern. This replica is intended for bibliophiles with plenty of discretionary income who want an accurate facsimile of the original printing, much in the same way that someone might want to buy a facsimile of The Great Gatsby's first edition.

      Believers know that the size doesn't make it more believable. They already believe and don't need any further proof. The reason believers would want a Bible like this is because it is just about THE most perfect way to showcase God's word which is available to us now.
