Std drive shafts are CVD type joints which give a lot of forward drive. UJ driveshafts are a different type of joint which doesn’t bind up during forward drive, and which allows the suspension to move more freely while powering forward. Upshot is with UJ there is better corner rotation indoors for carpet racing.
I have come to the conclusion as to why I really like you videos. Videos for top driver's are good but always feel they are a bit detached for the club racer you guys definitely do connect with club racers who enjoy the driving and good banter and long my you both continue to do what you are doing 👏
It has been a great build Mark takes a lot of pride in his builds and enjoys the process. I like the build but if there is editing to be done I would rather do that and mark then gets the building done so we can get our racing more …

Looks like a superb build 👍 your upgraded rear driveshafts looked to be a bit shorter and the knuckle ( not sure what you call where the two join ) had quite bit more space for movement 🤷🏻♂️ When the RC cars/buggies are at the point you’ve got it too in the build that mechanical skeletal look is fantastic, it’s hardcore and not like that tut tut tut 😂 Great stuff Carl and cheers for sharing 👊
You don't need the 'special tool' to build Schumacher shocks, they have a flat on the bottom of the shaft to hold instead. That area never goes near the orings anyway. Trish has done a video on Schumacher shock building.
Heya mate, mad vid. I just got my dirt version kit after seeing your vids. I haven’t been into rc for 20 years. Did you do a vid 3 with installing the servo?. I think you put the shock mount around the wrong way? (Step 16) The manual shows the 2 indents in the shock mount facing forward. You have them facing backward with the flat face facing forward? I’m up to this step. Should I do it your way or as per the manual? Thanks

I noticed it after skipping the step but shocks are built now without using the tool..
It looks like a decent little project building one of these cars. I thought it was going to be pulling parts out of a plastic tree
