I remember thinking Miguel was wrong as a kid, like he was reveling in the image people gave him, but as i got older i realize now that he is only enjoying it so much because its an extension of his life in Spain and he already loved it. He wants to have fun, worry about tommorows issues tomorrow. All he cares about is living a joyous life day to day. Tulio is more about the long term, which is why he is the planner, and thus he remains set that Spain and riches, combined with the new addition of Chel will be everything he needs. He misses the joys found in the day to day. They are perfectly balanced opposites
Fun fact: the guy that they gamble with at the start of the movie is voiced by Toben Bell. He is the same actor that plays John Kramer/Jigsaw in the saw series
This movie is one of the big reasons “Kingdom of the Sun” was changed from a grandiose “epic” to the feature length cartoon comedy we know as “Emperor’s New Groove” and I’m not sure how to feel about that. Both this movie and that one are funny but I feel bad for Roger Allers and his original vision
Normally, I hate it when people complain about how they miss the old days and how the new stuff isn't as good as the old, but I really do miss the old DreamWorks that appealed to older audiences, tried different things and used multiple types of animation rather than just stick with CGI most of the time. Granted, they can still make good films from time to time (VERY good even), but it still feels more rare nowadays compared to their beginnings.
This one is so underrated, I remember owning it as a VHS and then ruining the tape by how much I watched it. And considering the voice cast, Kevin Kline (Tulio), Kenneth Branagh (Miguel), and Rosie Perez (Chel). With the music by Hans Zimmer and freaking Elton John as the singer/Narrator. Can’t believe this movie is 24 years old, I feel old😂
4:23 Okay, That’s Me. 6:05 Tulio is Voiced by a Disney character. 26:48 I think he just played along to make his people have hope. 30:25 I feel like half of this is true.
21:11 Of course you paused right before the "blow Job scene."😂 Between that, "The hip!" scene, and Chel's overall design, DreamWorks knew exactly what they were doing.😏
I still remember watching this one with my mom as an adult, and hearing her gasp at that scene lol. She’s like “wait…you and your brother watched this as kids?! What was I doing?! I thought this was just a fun kids movie.”😂
Remembered seeing the previews of the film growing up on VHS from Prince of Egypt and Chicken Run. Did watch the film for the first time two years ago actually, but the film had a banger soundtrack 🔥❤️, the animation was beautiful, the plot was fun and intriguing, and the two voice leads was catchy and priceless together with amazing chemistry.
With how many of your amazing videos are getting taken down by TH-cam, I’m honestly starting to think the videos that get banned are targeted. Glad to see you reupload one of my favorite Dreamworks movies. Keep up the good work.
I got to got to Mexico 7 years ago because my mom's friend was getting married and I was her plus 1 (unfortunately, I caught a cold before we went, so I was stuck in the hotel room for first two days instead of enjoying the hotel amenities while Mom was at the wedding like I wanted. I was feeling much better by the third day though. Still very weak, but no fever, cough, or other cold symptoms) and my mom arranged for us to spend one extra day there so we could visit an ancient civilization (I forget what it was. It wasn't the Mayans). One of the things we got to tour was the stadium where they played this ball game! It is exactly like in the movie! The ring was super, super high up on the walls and the tour guild was telling us how they couldn't use their hands. Keep in mind too the ball was VERY heavy. And then we got to the grand finale in the middle of the stadium: the skull. Imbedded in the very center was a skull shaped stone where, believe it or not, the winners would be sacrificed to the gods. They believed that by sacrificing the winners, who proved they were the strongest team, the gods would bless the people with bountiful crops and life giving rain. We got to see a game in action while eating a feast played by the descendants who still lived in the village around the ruins. The game was a safer, not as hard version, but it was still cool to watch! They wore traditional gear and had a priestess come to purify and bless the game zone before, during, and after the game. It was awesome! And no, there were no sacrifices at the end of this game. Everyone made it out alive and well.
Sinbad was the last 2D movie which honestly in my opinion I don’t think Dreamworks doesn’t deserve to stop making traditionally animated even I could tell that Prince of Egypt and Spirit have a lot of effort put into them the reason they stop because Disney’s renaissance era came to an end after the 90s the 2000s was a bad time for traditional animation
I hadn’t actually seen this film, but I think i remember being on Foxtel and I just remember even though I wasn’t feeling great, I kinda started to watch it even though I wasn’t feeling great, it was the only thing on at the time.
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is underrated ❤. Sad that it bombed cause it led to Sinbad being the last 2D animated film from Dreamworks as CGI became popular at the time due to Pixar and Shrek’s success.
I loved this movie as a kid, because Miguel is me, gold is nice but adventure is priceless and more exciting. Granted it wasnt until I was in high school i learnt he is voiced by Lockhart from HP which was disappointing-not because of the actor but Lockhart pisses me off, which Kenneth Branagh did well at doing. The music is incredible Elton John was a perfect choice. Now, I wound up digging to see which Dreamworks you have or havent seen and noticed I haven't seen some of your reactions to some films, that'll be fun to watch next few days. Ones you may not have seen- Flushed Away and Antz are really good. Antz is the adult version of A Bug's Life, I preferred Antz as a kid compared to others, as I loved the message in it better than Bug's Life.
Fun fact this movie consider the diriest animacion ever made for the not so sutule adult humor btw love your channel cody keep up the good work The music is made by elton john
An amazing reaction to an amazing underrated film!!! I don’t if it’s been addressed that there is a theory that the chief is actually a god in human form which is why he’s strong and doesn’t out Miguel and Tulio because he knows they’re mischievously deceptive but immorally evil. I have to recommend Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and We’re Back: A Dinosaur Story. 🧔🏻♀️🧔🏼♀️👩🏾🐴🗺️⚔️💰🤑💛❤️🧡💙
TH-cam is very vigilant in hiding gems. Unrelated to that, this follows a formula first established in a series of films from the 1940s up through the early 1960s, produced by Paramount and staring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and Dorothy Lamour.
There are some plotholes in this movie like the the way they understand each other immedeately /no language barriers but even that does not make this movie less entertaining.
The Road To El Dorado is one of the most underrated animated DreamWorks films ever made. And it's a real treat to see you react to this movie Cody!
I remember thinking Miguel was wrong as a kid, like he was reveling in the image people gave him, but as i got older i realize now that he is only enjoying it so much because its an extension of his life in Spain and he already loved it. No fricking way!
"Cortez looks like a mad pug" I laughed out loud, that is true actually
I absolutely love The Road to El Dorado, it's such an underrated gem with amazing visuals and incredible songs!! Loved the reaction Cody!
How convenient that the volcano stopped erupting the moment he said STOP!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

CHIEF IS MVP! Love that guy! So kind and humble!
Fun Fact: One of the main characters is voiced by Kenneth Branagh, the guy who played Gilderoy Lockhart and the director of Thor!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
4:23 Okay, That’s Me. 6:05 Tulio is Voiced by a Disney character. 26:48 I think he just played along to make his people have hope. 30:25 I feel like half of this is true.
Interesting to note: Singer Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice reunited for El Dorado since winning an Oscar together for The Lion King!
When Altivo is on the boat: "I'm going to die with these idiots".
21:11 I cannot believe Cody missed the joke
21:11 Of course you paused right before the "blow Job scene."😂 Between that, "The hip!" scene, and Chel's overall design, DreamWorks knew exactly what they were doing.😏

Next you need to see QUEST FOR CAMELOT the greatest musical animated fantasy movie ever
Chel in Road to El Dorado is something else😏
Chel is the most beautiful woman in the woman!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Remembered seeing the previews of the film growing up on VHS from Prince of Egypt and Chicken Run. This was the second traditional 2D animated dreamworks film since the Prince of Egypt
It was a short time before the end of 2D animation with sinbad.
When they first enter el dorado it’s like walking into baldurs gate city for frist time
I hadn’t actually seen this film, but I think i remember being on Foxtel and I just remember even though I wasn’t feeling great, I kinda started to watch it even though I wasn’t feeling great, it was the only thing on at the time.
Now that you've done a video of "The Road to El Dorado" you should consider reacting to "Sinbad Legend Of The Seven Seas" next.
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is underrated ❤. Sad that it bombed cause it led to Sinbad being the last 2D animated film from Dreamworks as CGI became popular at the time due to Pixar and Shrek’s success.
YOU WON CODY this episode didn't get deleted SUCK IT WHOEVER DELETED THIS GOOD MANS VIDEOS
I love this movie. I can't believe you paused just before the blow scene 😂. You are right though, this movie is a gem.
I loved this movie as a kid, because Miguel is me, gold is nice but adventure is priceless and more exciting. A truly underrated masterpiece!
Chel is top tier waifu material!
For all you cultured individuals, remember Goth Chel?!
I still can’t get over the fact that Cortes is voiced by the same guy who plays Winnie the Pooh!
Fun fact this movie consider the diriest animacion ever made for the not so sutule adult humor btw love your channel cody keep up the good work
The music is made by elton john
Favorite hand drawn film from Dreamworks
the first time i saw this was after i got back from a Myan themed resort in Mexico and i was shocked at how accurate it was
People like to refer to this movie as what would happen in D&D if the rogue and the bard left the party to go on their own adventure.
How they got away with anything with Chel I will never know
This is a truly amazing movie.
An amazing reaction to an amazing underrated film!!! 🧔🏻♀️🧔🏼♀️👩🏾🐴🗺️⚔️💰🤑💛❤️🧡💙
I feel like no one talks about the chief enough. He's such a good character

I can’t be the only who thought Miguel and Tulio look like Thor and Loki from the MCU?
you know what, you're right
Well technically it is the other way around, specifically MCU, if comics then yeah other way. Oh and they also look like Scar and Mufasa.
@@forestcatkay14 i was reffering to how one is the brain, one's the personality, etc
@@gamebeast4191 that can still work with the lion king- mufasa personality, scar brain.
1:20 Yes, Cody this movie happens in 1500. Just like this movie Is made out in the year 2000, not 200! haha 🤣😉❤
28:55
JAJAJAJAJAJA!!!
I love El Dorado 😆
28:55 - 28:58 My part favorite of movie 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The characters are very funny in this movie.
For your next Dreamworks movie you should react to Antz and that one's the first movie they ever made
YOU NEED TO WATCH SINBAD TOO
I love this movie
You don't have to react to it (given how clingy Universal is with copyright), but have you watched Kung Fu Panda 4 yet?
I found it quite enjoyable.
Can you watch the new Ultraman rising movie, it's really good
Gold and on the other hand pain
I love dis movie so much ❤

There are some plotholes in this movie like the the way they understand each other immedeately /no language barriers but even that does not make this movie less entertaining.
