To those who don't know, In the campaign you go into a coma after the first mission, so they install a DNI into you and Taylor tries to drag you out of the coma before they try to perform a surgery to save you. You then access Taylor's memories by mistake. From this point on you are doing things from Taylor's point of view. Diaz, Moretti, Hall and the other Taylor represent 4 different rogue agents Taylor killed in the past. After the last mission ends, you don't leave the coma and die on the operating table.
So basically the story doesn’t matter

The end is wrong though, the player and Taylor are not fused together, the player is simply living out some of his memories.
"Real Life": Taylor and Hendricks hunting down Stone's team. (Stone is a guy from the prequel comics)
Player's simulated version: Himself/herself hunting down Taylor's team, adding some evil AI shit into the story just to make it more interesting.
That might still be wrong though lol. It IS hard to understand! :D
Corvus was born by Dr. Salim in disaster that caused lots of death
Player's pain through their surgery after end of mission 2 causes the AI to re-awaken and makes player to go through the simulation of Taylor's past but putting Taylor's team in place of stone's team
AI does this to understand the reason it was created
Taylor during surgery interfaces with the player to make him live and doing this makes Taylor infected with corvus
Later when Taylor mentions he feels something Sarah hall synced with his DNI and infection spreads
Something I don't understand is does the player get infected through interfacing with Sarah hall since after "demon within" Kane tells him that he's infected with AI or

@@sebas-chan5498 No.Sebastian Krueger created Corvus.He was the cause if the Nova 6 gas that killed many people.Due to his "mistake",he felt guilty and made a virtual heaven in the form of a frozen forest,hence,in the ending,Taylor says,"Imagine yourself......in a frozen forest",you turn black,which means you die,and Taylor gains full control over his body.A couple things is that,with Player inhabiting Taylor,story changes.Instead of Hendricks and Taylor hunting down Stone's team,it is you,the Player,living Taylor's memories,as Taylor,with Hendricks(who is just himself)hunting down Stone's team,which consists of Taylor(who in the memory is Stone),Diaz,Hall,and Maretti.The reason why you fight Nazis and Zombies when you fight Hall because of obvious reasons,BUT with her DNI,Corvus has found the perfect replica of the frozen forest.Now comes the "mind-fuse" part with Player and Taylor(which is hard to explain).There are two of you in one body.You,the Player,has to be the one to deactivate Corvus.The latter(Taylor)has to hinder Corvus and prevent him from taking over you.The "PURGING"on your screen AFTER Corvus has been defeated,means that you will be purged out of life.Taylor begins to gain control of his body,and when it reaches 100%,you die,be wiped of memory,and Taylor has full control of his body,hence ending the game with him saying "TAYLOR",ending the memory cycles.So yeah,Player was dead all this time and was only living a memory that is not his own,a body which he wrongly inhabited,and a story he wasn't even involved on.

I know I'm a little bit late but why are all the futuristic cod games start off with the main character losing his arm(s) and getting a robotic one? EDIT: or the bo2 multiplayer characters
Only 2 of the futuristic games start with that though. And it is to introduce the technology of the universe through something like advanced robotics/prosthetics.
Why all the games? Only AW and BO3 did that because they need a way to introduce Technology to the game like having powerful prosthetics that allow you to wall climb or give you powerful melee punches

Well in New world you are imbedded with a dni and a recruit of the cbp cyber ops. And your mind is connected to Taylor so Taylor's life flashes in your eyes but you replace Taylor and Taylor replaces Daniel stone the Taylor in real time. Also the reason Hendricks has the same cybernetics as you is become your doing it as a coping mechasim. As to make Taylor and yourself feel better.
