    Those knuematic ( Air Powered ) Windshield Wipers are the same kind we use in our Railroad Locomotives. The regulator valves are a little better in the newer GE and EMD Locomotives but the older ones like the EMD GP40-2 Locomotives for example are just like the M-35 Duce and Halfs like you have there. You got me wanting one and I do plan on getting one as soon as I get my new career going. I plan on going back to the railroad again but I'm definitely not going back to the company I left unfortunately, they have went down the pipes with these new managers and the hedge fund that wanted to keep their stocks up. I am going to be a Mariner now to work on Container Ships and I hope to become a Tugboat Captain or possibly a Harbor Pilot or Docking Pilot afterwards. If I don't go back to the railroad as a Freight Conductor/Locomotive Engineer ( something I absolutely loved ) I'll stay with that until I retire. One cool thing is during all that time I'll have off in between time at sea a Duce and Half will be great for me! Thanks for sharing these awesome videos and keep em coming!

    This video is great always wanted a rundown of the air system I'm sure you could swap in a larger compressor pump for greater cfm output but like you said it's ok for the application.

    Viair's smallest 24Volt compressor ($90), plus $35 1gal tank on ebay, with a 90psi switch and downstream of that, a CHECK VALVE, splice a 2nd check-valve downstream of the OEM air-tank, so *THE RESULT (TASK & PURPOSE) IS:*
    if the OEM pump or tank fails, you still have 1gal for emergency-braking.

    I’m surprised the compressor can’t run air tools when the York 210 air con compressor conversion can run tools all day from some videos I have seen

    • @deuceandguns
      @deuceandguns  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I puts out almost as much cfm as that York but it must be at a lower psi rating because you only get one or two good uggaduggas out of an impact before having to wait for the tanks to refill.

    Thanks! I love the great deuce content. You thinking of going to regular wheel/radials? That's my current project. Boyce Equipment is making the wheels and shipping them mounted. Great folks.

    • @deuceandguns
      @deuceandguns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are tons of benefits to a wheel upgrade. The general expense and the fact that I like the old look is the only thing holding me back.

    How many decibels is the horn? Is it just your standard car horn? If so I thought about mounting a train horn kit on my M35A2 when I save enough money for it.

      Remember how backing the stubby trailers vexed even the best "real" truck drivers? By the time you see trailer in those crappy little mirrors it was too late to make a correction. You had to imagine where the rump of the trailer was and correct just before it appears. Man, I miss driving that rig! Second best part of being in Vietnam. ;-)

  • @superdansilverman
    @superdansilverman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    great vid BC! I heard some people put a shop air hookup so you can use your shop compressor to air up in the morning and get going faster. You think this is a good idea?

      Out here in the west, 100 dollar man is a good supplier for deuce parts.

    • @deuceandguns
      @deuceandguns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't know 100 dollar man was still around. Good to hear it. As far as using shop air it won't hurt anything as long as the psi is kept under 120 but it's not very useful unless you're only moving the deuce in the parking lot. It should only take a few min to air up the system and the engine needs warm up time as well.

  • @Tree_Dee
    @Tree_Dee 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I see you had the Wasp Nest MWO in the engine compartment. Nice.
    As to how powerful the air "blast" from the system is, someone got the bright idea once, to blow all the dirt & crud out of the company's rifles after an FTX, with the air hose provided to inflate the tires. Don't bother. Butterfly wings generate a more powerful wind.

  • @alanack67
