My takes on your question… 1) I think Nike just beats the market to death with each retro that catches heat, and not every silhouette can retain authentic relevance through that level of saturation. So Nike milks and moves on to another Air Runner. 2) The Vomero 5. It seems to morph from colorway to colorway - making it a better candidate for market over-saturation. 3) Nike is too big and WIN driven to effectively pivot. That leaves them little chance to stay ahead of trends with its somewhat limited archives compared to the expansive history of, say, adidas and ASICS. 4) Nike is battling for homeland shares with NB and Saucony - two brands that appropriately milk their archives that are mostly devoted to Track’n’Field. 5) Suede T-toes are killing the casual wear game at the moment while adidas Basketball and adizero Running clean up the performance side of things. ✌🏽💙👟
