I can see Alan Partridge playing this on his radio show and commenting on how nice it is that them militant Welsh boys have now mellowed and are singing about the river in Ipswich.
I know this song was written from a Welsh point of view, but my goodness, as an American I feel the same way. You can't pick a side over here either. No one in positions of authority has the greater good of the people at heart. Personal agendas are ripping us apart. This song is fire.
Welsh, Wales is in the United Kingdom so what you mean is this song is written from a British view point if it was Welsh he would be singing in Welsh, which isn't a accent its a launage
It’s easy to think this band have changed from their first album. In my opinion they haven’t. They still stir that sense of disappointment in society in me, a sense of sadness and a strong sense of cohesion and optimism. That may not make sense to many. It’s my sense.
You’re right I think .same principles throughout . The music doesn’t sound as immediate as it once did . Thatmustbe inevitable . We live in Orwellian times
It feels impossible to pick a side
Insanities that dance and hide
The truth becomes a broken lie
Everywhere you look, everywhere you turn
The future fights the past, the books begin to burn
I'll walk you through the apocalypse
Where me and you could co-exist
Everywhere you look, everywhere you turn
The future fights the past, the books begin to burn
Words wage war, meanings being missed
I'll walk you through the apocalypse
We live in Orwellian times
A deepening sense of fear and crime
On the playing fields, in exclusive clubs
And the people machines still making fools of us
Everywhere you look, everywhere you turn
The future fights the past, the books begin to burn
I'll walk you through the apocalypse
Where me and you could co-exist
