  • A real life flower arrangement in the style of the still lifes made by Dutch and Flemish Master Painters. This floral design is made at the request of the viewers.
    Mike Boerma combines some gorgeous flowers with a variety of fruits and vegetables to replicate the aesthetic of those old paintings. A fun flower arranging challenge!
    This video is an edited version of a Livestream we did in 2021!

    Mike Boerma is a Floristry Teacher at the Boerma Instituut in Aalsmeer, Holland. If you are interested in becoming a florist or if you would like to get into floristry as a hobby, the Boerma Instituut offers courses and workshops for all levels!

    Wow! I’ve never seen Fritillaria like those! They are amazing!!! 🤩 and very appropriate for a Dutch floral still life. They used Fritillaria often.

    I think it’s possible to clear coat the cut fruit with spray lacquer, which is used in food photography.

      Haha, thank you! Yes it was actually! But yeah, of course, my experience from other styles of Floral Design carried over into this one, haha.
      Looking back on this specific work I think there are definitely things I have learned and spots I can improve upon when I will attempt this design style in the future.
