Trying a new format here, I am NOT good at these types of videos BUT, leave a like if you want more breakdowns ✌🏾
This type of video was good Kofi 👍🏼 still killer knowledge as a DP
Loved this video - it was extremely helpful. Thank you!
That drawing software is great. What are you using?
Correction: You are good at these types of videos. Please do more : )
Thanks !!
God I love when videos like this have the creator drawing on screen to explain. 😍
I shall do more 👀
Hollywood rarely ever uses softboxes. Watch most any behind the scenes footage of a Hollywood shoot and you will not see any soft boxes. This is why I am studying videos using scrims and other types of diffusion or bounce. That's what you find on Hollywood sets. Of course, always consider Roger Deakins' cove lighting with unbleached muslin. I got mine. I just need to practice with it. I'm doing lighting on narrative films, mostly.
What’s the best videos in TH-cam to learn cinematography?
@@samirawalehfilms2880watch video made by people that work as one: Wandering DP, Carlo Stigliano, etc
I appreciate how you show examples and highlight the focus on what to look for when setting up lighting and how to use the environment as a guide! I’m diggin this bro 🫡
My pleasure!🫡
Great video, where would you recommend sourcing fabrics to experiment with this? My local camera store doesn’t sell lighting fabrics.
I’ve gone to modern studios!
1:03: the lighting of the athlete is fantastic. I'll always put respect on bounce's name. ;)
🙏🏾🫡🫡 a man of culture
Great video, people underestimate the flexibility of cob lights and plain old reflectors.
Very true!
Good video! As my much as I love soft boxes finding other methods can be very useful!
I’ll have more of these soon!
Love this. I’ve bounced light off of white walls with good results. I haven’t tried to bounce off fabric. My amaran is only 200w so idk if it would work well for me.
It should still work! When I used the Colbor W100 it was half that off of old t shirts , just when you bounce or diffuse you do drop output
@@KofiYeboah ok I will give it a try
Love this topic. Great video man🙌
Thanks homie !
Very helpful demo fam! Keep em coming
Absolutely will do 🙏🏾
Yo Kofi, I hope to meet you at Kando one day! Keep up your awesome work bro💯💪🏾
Most definitely! Keep creating homie !
FX3 or GH7? Which one do you choose?
Great frame and lighting breakdown! I wouldn’t have known you blasted a light through the window
Glad it was helpful!🙏🏾🙏🏾 I love doing it
@@KofiYeboah I wish we had more access to streets in NYC so I could do that more 😂
Awesome!Thank You
You're welcome!
Great Tips!
Thanks homie !
Okay I love this style????? Selling all my soft boxes
Ahah imma make it more of a habit
Cove lighting looks fantastic but it can mean setting up a couple more stand to hang the fabric up, also you really need a more powerful light!
I actually used just 1, and a 300W light not at full blast ! Depending on space you might need an extra stand than usual 🫡 just depends on how big your space is and how much wrap you need
@@KofiYeboah Yep, I am often forced to use the lightest kit and the most powerful light that can feed on PD are 130w. But indeed I do prefer cove lighting if the venue is available for so.
Very informational I’m ready for you’re film 🎥 class bro 😎
Ahah one day !
I love your channel!!
Thanks!
What software are you using to draw ✍🏽 on the screengrab?
Just screen recorded my iPad ahah
Book light gang for life.
Book, cove, bounce , anything but a softbox ahah
I have a question. When using cine ei at 800 but 400 on display, should my meter still read 1.3-2?
Check my video on Cine Ei for the FX6! or FX3/FX30 it'll give a much better answer to that!
Colour grading please
Soon!
@3:58 a lot of that exposure that’s what??
How old are you lol
@@KofiYeboah too old brother. Love your content. Big thank you 🙏🏼
I notice older DPs like to hate on Softboxes but to me it's just a really weird elitism, like you're not a real filmmaker unless you're doing booklights every time. Typical dinosaurs behavior. As long as you know your bounces, diffusion and negative fills everything is valid.
@@avx111 I hope this video isn’t seen on me hating on softboxes 😅
