He had an old Barney Fife siren mounted underneath to wake folks up and scare the geese and deer off the runway. FAA guy ramping some folks one day looked under there and said, "Wind generator?" The reply was a simple, "Yup."
I’m new to aviation, about 20 hours into my private pilot training so I’m probably easily impressed. But I gotta say, seeing those planes land in such short distances on terrain like that was fascinating to watch! Great video! 👍

Yeah, was going to say the same. The hilight intro worked really well for this, which is funny as its what, 1 or 2 videos after a whole video about making the new intro 😄 As an established viewer, this worked better for me than the static intros
@@Brandon-bi4cj its more mechanically complex to my understanding, planes are relatively simple, and it’s probably easier to know whats wrong in case of a failure, but im no mechanical engineer I might be wrong

FPV is so much fun, I build, and fly race quads, and have recently gotten into the whole cinematic FPV builds. It’s incredible what you can do with a bunch of parts ordered online, solder em up, program the FC on your laptop, and then strap a GoPro on it! Can’t wait to actually get my flight training done, and start flying my own Kitfox tho! So glad I was introduced to aviation at a young age, and extremely happy there are people like you out there putting videos on TH-cam that highlight the passion everyone in GA has to show for it!
6S is a must. You can always add a throttle curve later if you want to tone down the power. Good luck. There is a huge FPV community that is out here and ready to help!

I was in the Turbo Lance in Red Bluff when you flew in. Right after engine start the siren was blaring overhead, it took me a minute to figure out what was going on! 😂

The FPV drone footage is great. I have been wanting to kayak that section of the Sacramento River. Looks very nice and peaceful when there aren't planes landing on the gravel bars.

Breaking your tailwheel tire/spring. Not If, but when. it happens. I lost my entire assembly on a dirt takeoff one time, though it steered weird at first roll, didn't even know it until the tail came WAY down at the next landing. Chip seal runway. Slight field mod to the rudder, but no too bad. Looked around that airport for an hour for the tailwheel, then called my friend at the last stop. "hey, can you go look around your place? I might have left something behind".
Trent... I confess... I love your flying... and I know you work with drones for a living... But, man... this video makes me want more drone footage, dude. That was fantastic. GG.
Re-watching this ep, I forgot just how epic this was. Double turn and burn, cross fly by while another takes off. Pro FPV work and your personal ease on camera, make for a difficult act to follow.

My dad had big speakers on his Cub and later his Husky. They could run the intercom through it to direct a ground crew or a police siren, which they used for calling coyotes (on the ground) while aerial hunting.
FPV drones and airplanes...now we got the recipe right...about time bro! Took me a solid year to go from initial parts purchase of an FPV frame/components/electronics, to have it built, programmed, tuned and then fly it fairly capably. Definitely isn't square space...which I've also used...haha.
Loved how chill this video felt, awesome footage all round. 9:04 did make my heart jump a little, don't often see head-on shots of an aircraft that close... lucky to have friends that have such insane trust in your flying skills!

I’ve broken a tailwheel shock on takeoff catching a rock, looked at my shadow and saw the whole assembly just dangling back there 😬
