I really needed this video Paul! You are awesome 😊🙏🏼
Thank you, Paul, for introducing me to the Photofile series. I have been looking for books such as these but hadn't heard of this series. I just received three volumes --- Ruth Orkin, Richard Kalvar, and Helen Levitt -- and they are perfect. I will certainly be ordering more of them. I visit your channel frequently and find it inspiring. Keep it up.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it
Thanks so much for this video Paul, really appreciated. I’m disabled with ever declining health and it gets me down so, so much that I simply just cannot get out like I used to and engulf myself in my passion of street photography. I never stop trying and I certainly never lack inclination to go out, if anything it’s maybe too strong a desire. It’s just bad health that stops me in my tracks so regularly now.
I’ve got countless rolls of film I need to develop & scan so it’s that I should really be focusing on right now. Maybe some great shots just waiting to reveal themselves that might just surprise me and put a smile on my face. 😊
I’m so glad this video resonates with you! Stay strong!!! I hope you find a real gem amongst the photos you’ve already taken!!
5:30 AMEN! One of my biggest inspirations is Sebastiao Salgado, his work and dedication is just...
Yeah he’s amazing!!!!
I used to collect those little photo books in the early 2000. My favourite was Bill Brandt.
I love them!!!!
Brandt, sadly one of the greatest ever photographers that never quite gets the recognition he so rightly deserves. 💯👍
I've been plundering my library system for such insights. I took out Stephen Shore yesterday, and today, I was out shooting "uncommon places." I *love* Moriyama, so then I'm shooting posters and other people's images, etc.
You're bang on.
I'm in the US, so I only get to Waterstones when I'm at Heathrow, but I love the idea of those smaller ones. I'll see if we have something similar, maybe through Jeff Bezos's empire or something.
Great post, Paul.
Thanks so much for your support by watching the videos
Really enjoy your videos man, very inspiring and insightful ❤
Thanks so much!!
Love your work
Sometimes I have to park my camera and wait for the ‘right light’.
But I find it’s a good time to edit or re-edit current images…✌️🇦🇺
Sometimes looking back on your pictures from five six years ago, you can revisit some of the locations and try something different, or set yourself a project, looking at artist, people like Edward Hopper and try to capture his style with the camera 📷
Yes! We change over time! There can be a new approach even just a year later
Great ideas Paul..
Always looking for more book recommendations so will check these out. Any other favourites you suggest?
Too many to mention! I will maybe keep recommending books in further videos
