  • What I do day to day living with type 1 diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is a condition in which your immune system destroys insulin- making cells in your pancreas. Causing me to have to inject insulin myself to survive.
This is different from type 2 diabetes, in which your body doesn’t respond to insulin the way it should.
Not everyday is a “perfect” day and this video can show how difficult it can be to manage your blood sugar day in day out 24/7….

I love that you showed yourself licking the blood off your finger because I always do that and people think it’s so weird.

I have had type 1 diabetes coming up to 25 years. But i like that I have found other people who know the daily struggles of a t1d. I have 3 little kids too

So relatable, I've had type 1 diabetes for almost 50 years. Used to follow a strict diet and inject once a day. Then switched to injecting with new human insulin before each meal in the 80s. Later, in the 90s got a pump, which was a big advancement. Now, I use a Freestyle Libre sensor, so fewer finger pricks. But in the past year, I've connected it to my phone and pump. With a DIY loop system, it takes a lot of the work off my hands, leading to better blood sugar levels and staying within range. But still, it's constant checking, correcting, etc. No one knows how it feels without type 1 diabetes, to have to intervene at any moment. Strength to you.

These day in the life’s are helping me so much rn! It’s easy to feel alone as a t1d especially on the days when your sugars are high/low. But this shows the reality of it, keep at it as your so inspiring!😚X

Thank you so much for making this video! ❤️ My brother was rushed to the emergency room a few days ago because he was feeling very lethargic and not eating, etc. and he was diagnosed with T1. He's been in the hospital for a few days now because his blood sugar was 578 so they've been slowly trying to lower it. Thankfully he's being discharged today! He's been pretty upset about it though and not been feeling very well since he was diagnosed. My whole family's lives have changed and we have to learn about it and do an education training program for 3 days to learn how to take care of him. So thank you so much for raising awareness and making all the content you guys make ❤️ It's really helping me to feel not as worried and scared for him and how our lives will be changed now.

You have like tons of libres in your drawer. Why are you not using them? Those lows and overcorrections could have been easily avoided.
