Fun Fact: Red/Blue/Yellow has a bug where Leech Seed and Toxic share the same counter. Leech Seed does 1/16 dmg always. But if the opponnent is poisoned with toxic, Leech Seed is basically a second instance of toxic. Example. Round 1: You Leech Seed (LS). 1/16 LS Round 2: You Toxic (TX) 1/16 LS 2/16 TX Round 3: 3/16 LS 4/16 TX Round 4: 5/16 LS 6/16 TX (And so on) PS: Yes, seince the healing of Leech Seed is based on the damage, the healing of the empowered Leech Seed is also stronger.
It's honestly kind of funny to me to think that Paras and Parasect get arguably the single best move in the game, but are such complete and utter trash thanks to their bad speed and 3 different 4x weaknesses. But then again, back then, they weren't as concerned about making Pokemon more competitively viable, so they probably gave that move to such an obviously bad Pokemon as a way to balance the game. At least spore gets better abusers in later generations
Wow a Huge step up! You must have been cooking this for a while. I agree with a lot of this. Petal Dance would only be good in a speedrunning context since you don't have to select it each time. otherwise you'd never really use petal dance whatsoever in gen 1. Solar Beam has very very niche use cases but yeah stinky tier sadly. Parasect is very bulky defensively but Poison, Fire and Flying being around in lower tiers in the context of gen 1 really makes it a massively stinky. a lot of what Parasect offers to the table is really good on paper but sadly it's held back by a ton of 4x weaknesses. the strongest user of leech life in gen 1 by far.
Actually was able to make this video in like 4 hours and that includes a lot of set up that’ll make future videos faster. Ideally we will be seeing more frequent and higher quality uploads going forward.
Yeah Spore in a vacuum is one of the best moves in the game, but when you look at the context of who actually learns it sleep powder is often better. In regards to Gen 1 Spore is tragically awful because of how bad Parasect is.
@@filthycubone yeah pretty much, even in the most even level comparison of the moves users being that of tangrowth and amoongus, tang has a much better stat spread and coverage that makes it better in singles while amoongus only really works well in doubles due to rage powder and is generally unthreatening. Also yes I did just assert that tang is better in singles despite the two having varying usage rates because tang becomes the more common of the two as the power of a metagame goes up due to not being as exploitable. Tang just overall has a much larger set of good traits that often feed into one another from more obvious traits to more subtle ones like it's extra recovery from giga drain due to hp and spatk diff.
Iirc, Leech Seed only activates when the opponent can act in gen 1 and 2, so, if they switch into it, they can immediately switch and don't get damaged
This is accurate. Also in gen 1 there is a bug where the seeding damage scales up with toxic turns. This isn’t super helpful though because switching out in gen 1 causing bad poison to become regular poison.
"Signature move of Smeargle" Funny as hell. Keep it up
what is that thumbnail😭😭

Spore in stinky tier is actually comedy gold. I like the new editing style. It helps you stand out more.
Parasect isn’t beating the allegations

I know nothing about competitive Pokémon strats I only made this for the thumbnail and I feel no shame
Arbok with mega drain for the win
Down in RBY PU Arbok can use Mega Drain to have a 41% chance to 2HKO Graveler, that’s something
@@filthycubone man imagine what it could do to a geodude

Ngl bulbasaur can giga drain me until i leech seed it
Careful. Bulbasaur being a grass type makes it immune to Leech Seed!
