    Great reactions for this series, Neil! A good measure for just how well-written and well-acted and well-shot this show is would be how amazingly popular it is, not just among those of us who loved the games, but among those who have never played the games. And the direction, wow. With this and Westworld before it, Jonathan Nolan is showing he isn't just a good screenwriter. He can match his brother in directing skill. I hope he is tapped to do the next season as well.

      That's Eric Estrada, I'm surprised more people didn't recognize him. Hugely popular as "Ponch" Poncherello in the police drama television series CHiPs, which ran from 1977 to 1983.

      The irony is my instant thought was, 'That's Eric Estrada!'. But my near immediate second thought was, 'There's no way that's Eric Estrada - that dude must be 70 by now.' I had the same thought process when I saw Michael Rappaport back in Episode 2 - he looks the same as he did 20 years ago, so it must not be him...

      @@mulelpi2151 I mean, although I recognized him, I also recognize most of the people watching this probably weren't even born when CHiPs was airing, let alone old enough to remember him. We're just old 😂

    Great reaction as usual Neil. One little tidbit. Ghouls don't heal like Thaddaus healed after that crossbow bolt. He's something else, something that was noticably missing from season one (except one brief visual reference), and something that I'm very excited to see in season 2.

  • @internaut4257
    @internaut4257 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I like speculating with my friends about how Moldaver survived all this time, we also thought maybe shes a ghoul but she invented that serum that the ghouls use to keep from going feral so maybe using that straight away keeps her from deteriorating aswell, and maybe if Thaddeus gets his hands on it now he can stay looknig like a smooth skin. Though we also thought Thaddeus might become a super mutant instead of a ghoul. Anyway, can't wait to watch your reaction to the finale, its a good one!

    Great insight into 33. Id just like to point out the guy with the mustache during the election who couldnt stop talking about voting for betty. Also the weird jello cakes make multiple appearances. I suspect that mustache man really likes the jello cake. They play it as comedy, but its great foreshadowing imo.

    I think you're being a bit harsh on Maximus here. He's impulsive, and maybe not the brightest of characters, but he DOES have heroic intentions and is able to form plans and take initiative. The whole reason he had the armour is because he didn't think Titus was living up to the heroic ideal of what he believed the BoS should be. When he gets the armour, he intervenes in a fight where he THINKS he's doing the right thing by saving someone - even if the situation is a bit more complex than it first appeared. When he arrived in Filly, he threw himself between the Ghoul and Lucy to protect her when he didn't have to. He puts himself between Thaddeus and the gulper and tells him to get to safety, and then rescues Thaddeus when the convenient thing/morally grey thing for him to do would have been to let the gulper have him. He's a GOOD person at the core and trying to do the right thing, he's just impulsive and not the brightest. He's still a big kid in a lot of ways.
    His initial plan after taking the armour was to retrieve the head and complete the mission to make up for lying and prove himself worthy. You can argue that it may not have been a good plan, but it WAS a plan. Likewise for this episode. He never expected the fake head to go undetected, it was more about buying time for Lucy to complete her mission. More of a noble sacrifice. Again, there's method to his madness.
