Mahalia Jackson was one of the best Gospel singers. I grew up with her music and she stays within me. She was a beautiful human being in soul and spirit. When she sang, she sang to the Lord himself. Sadly she never married and lived alone. She passed away quietly in a room she rented in New York city. Her love of Christianity and her faith took her through life. Rest in peace our sweet Mahalia.
