This video came up when I was searching for the opposite. It’s the opposite side of the same coin I believe. I’m trying to figure it out. I’ve been a professional piano player/singer for almost 30 years, and on stage feels like home. The more people in the audience, the better. I step off stage, and I am petrified to talk to people one on one. I think I’ve been doing it so long, that I’ve associated praise, applause, and all that fun stuff to my stage persona. When I’m off stage, I think I unconsciously feel “the thing that makes me special” is not there, and I have nothing to offer. That’s absolutely ridiculous, but it’s real. I have had awful anxiety and panic attacks for years, but the moment I step on stage, that all goes away.
Im a dance coach, i performed only in fromt of my student, and i have the feeling "the more people, the best". I want to show my dance gift in a theater stage. I dont know how it will be. But i hope i got too the feeling of being " Home". 🌙💓
I’m in a band and so terrified to perform the first song but after that I’m good. It’s a new band but played with the Bass player in another band. It’s like I’m at a job interview every damn time!
Omg, i was literally so nervous because tomorow i have this singing and piano audition with like 400-500 people watching me! This calmed me down and i will be sure to use this mindset tomorow when i perform! I’ll see if it works well! Thanks!
This absolutely helped me so much thank you ! I saw this video yesterday and today I had my concert and it absolutely made me feel ready for it, thank you !
Thanks! I'm 12 and I will be playing a concert in 2 hours. I'm stressed, because it will be my first time solo, I'm playing the drums and many people think, that every drummer is so confident. That's not true! Hope I get used to it, and don't mess anything up... Wish me luck 🤞

Hey watching this video I actually realized, that this is my approach to my daily problems but now that you named it, it will work even better. Thanks a lot!
Thank you! That’s a very quick but effective shift. I’ve gone way out of my comfort zone and have been doing a 30 songs in 30 days way before I would normally feel ready to on Facebook live. And I just can’t get past feeling completely fine right up until I push the “begin live” button. 😂it’s so annoying!! I can play the songs totally fine, meaning I don’t struggle with breathing, I don’t mess up on the guitar and I don’t forget the words nor get as pitchy when I play on my own. Even right before just warming up. But the moment I hit that start button it’s crazy!! And I’m on day 20 and it still doesn’t seem to be a big noticeable improvement. I’ll give this mindset perspective or shift a try and let you know how it goes over the next 10 days. Thanks for sharing.

In my experience trying to fool my brain does not work. When I'm in panic mode, telling myself that the object of my panic is going to be 'fun' or 'exciting' just makes my brain say 'NICE TRY PAL! IT AINT FUN...IT'S TERRIFYING!' Those thoughts almost always totally overwhelm any calming thoughts I try to create. It's incredibly frustrating. Like a monster constantly sitting on my back.
I have my first theater performance in November, today was my first day, and I came in, not knowing how to read sheet music, not knowing my vocal range all the stuff, this is my first ever show. I’m really scared to perform, but I am excited.
THANK YOU! I have a performance tomorrow and my friend was talking me down because she thought it was funny. This is working right now so ill update this about how it went

The more recitals I do the more nervous I get, and then in the performance I start overthinking what I’m playing and then struggle to remember so I end up playing by ear. I’ve got a competition this Sunday so will try this technique and update this comment on how I do 🤞

i am an adult beginner, learning a bow instrument which has been said to be one of the most difficult instrument to learn. i spend many years without teacher and recently with a teacher, only to find that i cant even get into the most basic bow movement ! what's make things complicated is that i am too excited/anxiety about what i am going to do in the recordings, so i do miserably poorer in when the recording is on.

Thank you so much!! I have to sing tomorrow for an anniversary party and I love doing it but don’t want my nerves to show through my voice. This helped me realize I really am excited !! Thank you🎉
LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE! What a game changer. My performance coach, Tom Jackson also teaches the concept of thinking of yourself like a waiter delivering delicious food. If you were a waiter, you would think of bringing a gift of bread, not self conscious. The waiter doesn’t have self consciousness so much. He says insteadC to be God or higher power conscious. Cool right?!
Going to a big lacrosse camp tomorrow and super nervous what people think of me about how I play, I’ll try to come back after the week of camp checking in

Oh man, I thank you so much for sharing this with me. I'm definitely going to remind myself before a performance or a big even that "I am excited!"
Happy I could helP!!

Played guitar my whole life. Even taught kids. I'm now 52 and that musical dream is pissed away. Now suddenly I'm supposed to get my stupid ass on stage and call it excitement? It's a dead dream for me.
Can't even make a video without being terrified so I'll leave a sound clip. lol th-cam.com/video/TwsZoYns0UI/w-d-xo.html
Do BBQs and camping count?. Only ever done that.
Hi, @guitarjammingtracks. Wanted to reach out to you to connect. 🙂 I’ve been a musician for over 15 years now and still experience stage performance anxiety symptoms. As a recent doctoral graduate, I wanted to dive into personal research as I connect with others who experience similar anxieties whether on stage, speaking and presenting in general. Would you be open to sharing some of your valuable insights with me? Just Looking for those willing to help with my research! Grateful to find a community here! 😊
Well I will come back and let you know.. I have a showcase Saturday for my acting class. I’ve never really performed in front of a live audience and I’m terrified to be honest.
Never came back
@@the_unkowngod_2328 Ha Thanks for the comment! I forgot all about
My comment
@@the_unkowngod_2328 So this actually helped A LOT! I had two monologues and a scene with a partner. I hyped myself up telling myself I was just SO excited! And I was first on stage. After my first monologue that I nailed! All the nerves disappeared.
For your own shows, they are there for you.
The more recitals I do the more nervous I get, and then in the performance I start overthinking what I’m playing and then struggle to remember so I end up playing by ear.
I’ve got a competition this Sunday so will try this technique and update this comment on how I do 🤞
Getting married in a few hours. This was the first and last video i will search on how to ease my “excitement” thanks !
Best of luck! 🤞🏼💛
@@DavidDiMuzioLessons thanks! Yup, there video concepts worked wonders. It was one of the best days of our lives and took that energy on our honeymoon in Aruba. Thanks for the great advice
i've been getting medicated for excitement for a while now
lol
This man deserves a rose from the president❣
I will try this. Ive been performing for 25 years and recently been experiencing anxiety on stage it will eventually go away but it can come back just as fast and ive never experienced this so i just want it to go away 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thanks for this perspective ❤️💛💚
I have to play last post tomorrow at a rugby game and this has helped me so much thank you
i am an adult beginner, learning a bow instrument which has been said to be one of the most difficult instrument to learn. i spend many years without teacher and recently with a teacher, only to find that i cant even get into the most basic bow movement ! what's make things complicated is that i am too excited/anxiety about what i am going to do in the recordings, so i do miserably poorer in when the recording is on.
I have a concert coming up I'm going to be playing guitar with my whole class and I came across this video cause I was dreading that concert coming up but thank you I feel like I have the courage to go out there and do my best
I came to watch this video, 'cause I have a performance to pull up for the first time. And I think this video really helped.
I have a performance at a competition, and this helped encourage me.
my brain was telling me this just today and you've confirmed it!
Brilliant! Thank you so much. All the best to you.
Happy I could help!

I love this. That was hot! I give many performances a day, but getting to the first one has been a challenge for me lately. Thank you.
You got this! ✨💛
I'm a pianist and I play classical music. Every time I have to do a performance or a competition I go into total panic. I get tachycardia, my hands sweat a lot, and this doesn't allow me to play as well as I would like. I hope the feeling you described is the same, so I will try your advice too. Thank you 😊
Good luck ✨🎶
Definitely gon try it
Thanks dear
Most welcome 😊
wow loved this advice.Youre amazing. Thanks so much
Thank you so much!!

Going to a big lacrosse camp tomorrow and super nervous what people think of me about how I play, I’ll try to come back after the week of camp checking in
I have a piano performance tomorrow so I’m gonna try to take these tips. 😅
Thank you so much! I really need this right now!!
Got my game(efootball mobile )tournament which will be hosted for the first time in our country. I've qualified through group stages and round of 16. I am so nervous bc i want to win so bad but there are way better players. Winning this would mean alot to me and my family. Thank you for the video ❤
This was really helpful for me - thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Well, I'll try this, but to me, nervousness and excitement have always been worlds apart. I HATE the feeling of being nervous. It's very negative. Thanks for the info.
This video helps with comedy anxiety as well. Thanks, man.
Happy I could help! :)
