They were students of their ART. Sadly, todays musians are fame and money driven. Those artist you mentioned cared about the MESSAGE in their music. The industry wasn't perfect back in the day either but those artist MADE the music not some excutive in a posh tower.
I was at this rescheduled concert and it has stuck with me all these years as simply the best concert I have ever been at. If some of you think his voice sounds a little croaky - that’s because he was recovering from a throat infection - in fact he came on stage, started talking in a croaky voice - everyone was like “oh no”, then he just grinned - only kidding, he says....then kicked off a very memorable night
I too saw him at Wembley - 2 years after this performance (large Luther!) - and I have never forgotten it. A truly gifted singer and utterly sensational live performer (even better live than recorded, imo). Terribly missed.
