EDIT: Adding a list of things that works against the nest based on comments:
- Well placed 500 KG bomb in the middle can clear all nests (though beware of the 500 KG bomb trajectory, may be blocked by one of the nests)
- Autocannon in about ~10 shots
- Recoilless rifle in about ~ 2 shots (approximated since EAT also uses 2 shots)
Dealing with Shriekers:
- MG or Gattling sentry can clear large groups of Shriekers effectively
- Incendiary Breaker with a wider spread and burn damage can help pick them off
- Staying in a prone position can help to avoid their hits
Encountered the new flying Shriekers during some solo attempts and was able to record some footage that I think might be useful. I wasn't able to test everything out so it is not very comprehensive, but hope it helps! If you have any better methods to deal with them, please share it in the comments!

It feels easier to shoot their wings off than trying to shoot center mass, try and let me know maybe it's just pseudo effect but the wings pop off and they die instantly.
"Arc Thrower works, but the hitbox is not very reliable", that's just the arc thrower in a nutshell tho, nothing unusual there.
Literally 😂 I was shooting at a bug from a good distance and was wondering “why isn’t it hitting him,” then the bug turns around to look at me and its head gets blown off in one shot 😂
Yea fair point. Though I find the targeting more consistent shooting down from high ground when there's no bodies or terrain blocking you. So was thinking it might work better as well when firing into the air.
I just went prone and patiently killed every last one of them. They came at me but missed me everytime.
Oh that's interesting, so proning helps to avoid their attacks? That's good to know, thanks for sharing!
Yeah I did this for a while but I got trampled by a charger or three
Laser Cannon is great at killing Shriekers, barely even need to touch them with the beam.
Good to know! They have similar HP to that of hunters so should be fairly easy to kill if you can hit em.
I used this last night. For me though, thats about all it’s good at doing. I cant stand that weapon lol.
@@TheBarkster I am the polar opposite. I love it lol. It is my go to for ad control, takes out the low level guys pretty quickly but no quite quick enough if I am being honest. But the beefier enemies seem to go down to it and the fact I don't have to worry about ammo is a huge bonus.
Skrieker seem to aim for the head when they high, hence the high dmg
If you kill them mid dive they kill you not if they’re alive it’s a reference to starship troopers
@basilisk931 you're a reference to starship troopers
Yeah, you're right, kind of like how Hunters do the same with the leap attack.
Tips: A MG or Gattling sentry can clear a large group of Shriekers very effectively
Good tip, thanks for sharing!
The 380mm might finally have its use for taking down multiple nests
Dude it already has great use after they tightened its spread
@dabbingraccoons6416 IDK man I tried it and didn't get much. That was only one mission though so maybe I'm wrong
@@TheMcstevester the 2 uses I've used them to great effect for:
1. clearing out egg nests
2. Helldive blitz "kill 500 terminids" mission easy mode (I'm not kidding). Everyone in the squad brings 380mm and their choice of other barrage/AoE strats like 120mm, walking, cluster bomb, laser, etc.
Then simply chain your strats together. You'll die a bunch obviously but the bugs will die faster than your reinforcement count and you should have plenty to spare by the time it's finished. (plus this is a great way to get the "have 6 barrage stratagems active at once" achievement :D )
I like this things, just make me feel sad dont burn it as i burn the others, but as i usually do get some tips and info eith a lot of things who i dont know about they from you, thx so much mate :)
Glad it helps! Thanks for watching!
A single well-placed 500 kg in the middle can take out all the nest in one go, I also find that using any shotgun works best on the flying bugs and spears have a hard time locking on the nest for some reason.
patrol spawn rates are always faster when you are near objectives, this has been the case since before the patch.
Spears needs locking mechanism to be fix because it very democratic when it works but it's very disappointing when it decided to mess with you.
"Spears have a hard time locking on for some reason"
😂
Spear works when you pray to holy democracy and liberty… and it has a good mood.
Good to know, was wondering if the 500 KG AOE is big enough. Thanks for sharing!
Terrific info, thank you for your diligent research. May we forever remember the divers who paid for this intel with their lives...
Thank you, glad it helps. FOR LIBERTEA!
With the new flying bugs, i find the sieg incendiary is better than the normal breaker due to its spread and mag size, u can point it up the sky and use it as make shift flak, which is super effective. Also 2 recoiless shot or 2 eat shot will take down 1 tree
Oh, that's a good idea with the incendiary breaker - will give it a try next time😄
As an auto canon user that shoots at round shaped things that I can barely see through the fog of.. "huh?"
Mech rockets is the best option IMO for destroying it. If your mech drops without randomly exploding or missing the rocket arm...
Yeah, I guess the rockets deal similar damage to EAT so about 2 shots will work as well. Hopefully they get the mech fixed again!
the super earth ministry of truth wishes to inform that flying bugs do not exist
it's the daed Shireker ragdoll fall kills player most of the time :P
Oh yeah, the kamikaze move 😅
If impact grenades can damage them
Can autocannons kill them?
Yes they can, just tried this earlier. It uses up quite a bit of ammo but that way you can take all 3 nests down from a distance.
Can confirm it does work but yeah it takes a ton of ammo. 8 shots at least? I wasn’t able to count properly tbh
autocanon works but not recoiless rifle or expendanble anti tank.
Maybe I didn't fired enough but it don't seems to.
@@atavusable Recoilless does work, not sure how many but I took a couple of already damaged ones out with it
Yes, I fired about 12 shots with an autocannon before one shroom went down. The second went faster.
These things are awful. 3 hits and you're dead, they have a microscopic hitbox and turrets/guard dog can't hit them, and the Hellbomb doesn't destroy their towers.
Wait, hellbomb doesn't destroy it? I haven't tried it personally, just assumed it should work properly.
a 500kg takes them out if placed in the middle. Just did it myself last night.
Still haven't seen these fools
Found em a couple times now, feels like it is more common since the last patch.
Shouldve used the spear on the nest
Yeah, others mentioned that the spear works as well, though they have issues locking onto the target.
i hate how they oneshot you
Yeah, makes it really tricky to deal with when there's lots flying around.
This footage could contain treasonous content!
You contain treasonous content
🤫
Shriekers destroy mech suits and the patrol spawns seem worse actually. The devs just determine to run this game into the ground with bullshit
sounds like a skill issue
Did they destroy it quickly? Cause the mech is able to tank hunters attack but will still get destroyed if left unattended.
@xD3viLz yeah man they're hard AF to hit with the mini gun and they super aggro to the suits and eff you up and get in front of your rockets. Not to mention, the rockets are highly inaccurate now after the "fix" these devs are assholes man.
@@stoywarshockofficial9984 stop repeating crap you hear other idiots say. It makes you and idiot too.
Ok we get it no need to bitch about it
You see all you Unicom individuals who play this game like all day long then make you tube's real get me, The flying shrinkers can 1 to 2 shot you, also are very difficult to hit, NOW try out running them with chargers, stalkers, small bugs, titans all chasing you around; Oh lets not forgot the environments ...
I'm not sure what's your point here - I don't think the devs will make significant changes just because of some youtube videos since they have their own game plan. The purpose of the video is to give an overview of Shriekers. I have tried it and I agree that they are troublesome to deal with considering all the things you mentioned. It is a new addition, so it'll take time for players to figure out the optimal way to deal with it. Kind of like the previous Major Order where you have to defend the silos - players were complaining about the difficulty, but once they figure out the strategy that works it became a lot simpler.
Soooo you're here watching youtube videos about the game but then complain about people making videos about a new aspect and testing it on the game? Are you high? Lol if you don't like the content I am sure there is a minecraft video just waiting for you.
