    I am a professional composer and music professor who writes a lot of orchestra music. and this is IDEAL for looking at orchestra scores.

      Absolutely. Not only scores, but mixers with lots of inserts and other similar things come to mind.

      Yea it makes so much more sense than ultrawides for that sort of work. Would be ideal for single-screen focused DAWs like Logic or Ableton

      This is exactly what I'm considering this monitor for. Do you have one and use it with a mac? I've read so many negative comments regarding scaling issues that I'm wondering if this will work.

    How did you rotate the display? I can't seem to get the option on my M1-13in , is it with USB-C or HDMI❓
    "rotate display" only pops up on my M1-13in when I disconnect the Dualup in the "Hold Option+system settings>Hold Option+display" ❗Doesn't give me the option when I connect with USB-C... 🤷‍♂

    I think one more downside to add is that it does not support native scaling. If you use the HiDPI resolution, either the fonts are too small or too big.

    I had to get the "regular" stand since I have a glass-topped desk, which doesn't support rotation. That is actually a bummer as I wanted to rotate it, but it was my fault for not checking the specs.
    There is only a high-dpi option for 2x scaling by default, I had to install BetterDisplay to expose better high-dpi resolutions.
    Other than that its been good for programming, having the bottom 2/3 for visual studio code and top 2/3 for the browser is a good setup for front-end coding.

    I'm curious to know. If I need to use Picture by Picture, will macOS respect the aspect ratio of the split resolution? It's my personal experience that Macs can be a pain in the rear with PbP on 16:9 monitors due to it not respecting 8:9.

    Great review, just didn't understood when he said that the Mac only supports 1 external monitor, I have been using 2-3 external monitors ever since my old intel mac without any issue, except when I connected a 3rd, the performance would dropped significantly, and even connected once the iPad as a 4th monitor, they were all versions with dedicated video card tho.
    Currently using 3 monitors with my M2 Pro Max without any performance issue, but just read that the regular M1 and M2 version supposedly have this limitation, super weird, when I have no such limitation in my old 2018 i9 Mac.

    Wait, what? The brand of laptop that is specifically targeted at graphic designers can only handle one external monitor? Man, Apple really doesn't seem to like their own customers very much.

    • @Mentaculus42
      @Mentaculus42 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really, the Pros use Airs that support one external monitor, PROBABLY they use something that has PRO in the name that supports more than one external monitor. Apple products are expensive enough, so why make a lower end & lower cost laptop support a PRO feature? Also it is not mostly an artificial limitation as Apple loves to do as additional applicable functionality is built into the next higher level processor package. This monitor is $800, if somebody is trying to save money on the laptop but spend this much on a monitor it would suggest that they are not aware of other viable options to get what they “need” for less.

    • @atetraxx

      The air is not targeted at graphic designers. That would be the MacBook pro. Which can do more than one
