  • I was invited to sail with a junk for my TV film in 1960. Junks with sails are hardly seen nowadays in HK waters.

Through my year long connections in the Yau Ma Tei typhoon shelter I was allowed to spend a day on a junk for my Dutch TV program.

@bungchau Sorry, after fifty years I'm not certain. It may have been a handy stove heated by charcoal?

Mr Rogge, Did you by any chance see how the food was prepared on the junk? What did they use for a heat source? Many thanks!

Chinese government needs to rescue this significant cultural obejct of historical heritage. It is at risk of disappearing and forgotten.

Dear, thanks by courtesy of the safed images. The fishermen, the natives know more about their 'fengshui'. How about to maintain the standards of living by providing facilities of keeping the know how. Widen possibilities of revenues by creating books for education and create apprenticeships. Provide decent structures to the people. Be faithful, be happy, be healthy. Kind regards, take care....
