Oh, so amazing. I drive through Aberdeen every day on my way to work. It looks nothing like this now. I remember it from back in 1982, when it looked much more like this. Thank you so much for sharing this history with us. It's wonderful!
Dear Micheal, Finally got a chance to see you (from the mirror) from this clip. Thank you for all the wonderful old HK clips. Your clips are trully treasure!
@greatguy52 Thanks. Editing these vids is all my work. I have no assistance except for the laboratory which digitalizes my old movies. I give a great deal of thought to finding the right accompanying music and effects. Some of the music I bought in Hong Kong on 78 rpm records in the fifties.
The dam of Tai Tam Reservoir at 0:21 remains the same. The red brick police station on the hillside at 1:25 is still here. It's now a youth centre, obscured by tall trees and buildings. I can't imagine how Aberdeen looked like back then! Thanks for the video!
The car is actually a Mk 1 Morris Oxford. Just a bit bigger than a Morris Minor. Hope this might jog your memory. Love the video and music. My wife is Chinese and I have just bought a junk rigged boat.
I'm not sure whether it was a Morris Minor. I may have gotten a lift from a friend. I had a Standard Vanguard at the time. I suppose that all that typical shipbuilding has gone now.
Splendid, just a few months ago I took my pupils to the bridge you drove on at 0:21 I can tell you, the bridge is still there! I live in Aberdeen now, a place called Tin Wan.

Indeed even in my time ships were built at Ap Lei Chau. All my movie scenes are from that beautiful island.
