The overdrive unit is a aftermarket unit that attaches to the rear of the transmission and allows a 4th gear for highway use,since the factory transmission in the truck is only a 3 speed. Helps lower the rpm and get better fuel mileage, especially with gas prices of today. It's almost a necessity to have on the these older 3 speed trucks. It's about a $3500 upgrade.
That's a really nice rig and I'd be proud to own it but i already own a 78' F~150 in the shop out back and no room left out there because of stuff piled up to the ceiling that I continue to buy lol ! I hope that truck finds a great new home and i love your channel too.
