TR Hamza I've always loved the s4 on par with the M cars. I must say I have a biased towards the supercharged b8 model which I intend to get next, but not too soon as I've just got my e46 M3. So true. Too many people getting caught up in 0-60 times. It's more about how strongly a car pulls from 20mph to 50mph (real world driving), which is strongly correlated to engine displacement and engine-gearbox mapping. Might be out of performance car context, but a 520D feels quicker than many other cars out there with similar 0-60 times; and that's simply because the gearbox is mated so well to that drivetrain.
Yeah I agree, its so apparent in real day to day driving especially in regards to some of these small diesel cars, can barely outrun them unless you're willing to do stupid speeds
Niall A 520D feels quicker than it is. I know someone that had a CLS 320 and a 520D Xdrive touring. He had the feeling the 520D was as quick until he did a drag race against the CLS and lost by a big margin.
Perfectly balanced and formed review. Seemed pretty knowledgable on the car so you do, do your homework. Catching footage from all sides of the vehicle, even doing a seen through glass style PoV just shows the quality that you go through to ensure the best content for your viewers. And as for the Audi s4? I would have it if I was an older lad with a family, as the extra space serves no purpose to me.. Can't wait for the next review!!
This car is always forgotten like the S3. When everyone goes on about which hot hatch they would have got when they decided to get an M140i, they're like: I was gonna get a focus RS or an A45, I would have got an RS3 but that's out of my budget. It irritates me a lot. Like if you agree. Great video again.
great review, i love my B8.5 S4.....they are quite rare on the roads the s4's which is nice. The v6 engine is great and they don't half shift...lovely interiors as well....its nice to see an s4 rather than the usual s3, Rs3, golf R etc etc

Performance estate cars have gone up in my estimation thanks to this video. I'll never buy an S4 Avant but I still like it and I loved the sound it makes. Sure, there are better engine noises around but this one growls - I watched the vid on a laptop hooked up to a Sony sound system via Bluetooth so the sound sounded better than usual speakers or a mobile phone. Keep up the great reviews. I always enjoy them.

Lovely car, sounds a lot better than I expected! I really do enjoy your videos because even though you own an Audi S3, you will criticise your car, especially compared to other cars, as most owners will be scared to admit the negative things about their car.
Audi underrates their engines. They’ll say 354hp from 5500-6500 rpm but if you look at a dyno of a stock S4 you’ll see that it crosses 354hp at around 5500rpm but continues to rise to almost 400 hp at redline. Same with torque. The peak is more like 535Nm instead of 500 as Audi states. I’m picking one of these up soon. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the sport diff or the bang and olufsen which is a shame but it was a family members car and they offered it to me for a price I can’t really turn down. It still has the adaptive suspension and it’s an avant so it gonna be a great upgrade from my B8.5 S4 (which does have the sport diff).

Yeah the Golf R is "as quick" 0-60. But I found (on admittedly) just a test drive, under 3, maybe 2.5K rpm, it's not as quick as I thought. That's why I want an S4....and an interior that is miles and miles better than the R. Just need to find one with decent finance.

350 BHP is Audi being very modest. I've driven the RS3 and S5 which has the exact same engine as the S4, and I felt the S5 was faster all round. 380 BHP sounds more realistic.

My only gripe with the new Audi interior is the air conditioning vent, why does it have to be 2000000metres long, other than that everything is beautiful and on point.
Hi Mate, The S4 is a great car and you have just shown how good Audi estate cars can be providing they have a good spec like this one but I would have gone for the carbon fibre in place of the piano black I think it would hold up better over time. As the black will scratch and show finger prints but other than that it's a great car you should now drive the RS6 and the RS6 performance models they will blow your mind when it comes to straight line balls to the wall speed wow they are road weapons and can and will destroy a Ferrari and a Porsche come traffic light race time Lol. Bit disappointed by the engine noise. This is like the Merc C43, its a great car but the engine still doesn't sound as good as BMW's 6 cylinder euphoric melody. Love that interior though, I too would definitely pick that black piano gloss over the aluminium trim.
This truly looks like a great car combining performance, practicality and luxury. I'm looking at a performance family car so the big question is:- Do I go for a high spec new/pre reg Golf R estate or a used year old S4 Avant with miles on it and some warranty left on it???????
30k cash can be used in a much better way than putting it into a car.. put a deposit on a house, rent it out and pay your mortgage and your finance. Invest 30k into ur business and I'm sure the extra returns will cover your monthly. Unless 30k dont really affect you it's pointless buying a car outright. So it's not sad ppl dont buy anything outright. It's actually sensible.
I think its pretty great, but it isn't out in the UK yet, I still prefer the new Sportback. Only thing I don't like about the new facelift RS3 is that its quieter than old one, ill be doing a video on the 2015 one very soon.

Got a golf gtd and they are surprisingly quick in gear! 140mph the other day was effortless. And the dsg is a 🍑

I've noticed how rare the a4 has become! Everyone has an A3/S3/RS3/A5/A6/RS6/A7/RS7 The A4/s4 and RS4 are super rare compared to a few years back.

Why would you not opt for the auto hill hold assist. It was a £30 option on my 2017 S5. Essential for any auto in my opinion.
£75 option on the S4 but well worth it.
