+MotoManTV U2good 2btrue, I just wish u could do more & more reviews. Please also talk to the guys at Porsche to lend u some of their cars especially the GT3RS. I luv ur reviews!!!!
the s63 and the mulsanne have more or less the same interior quality, but the s class is far more technologically advanced and powerful for a way cheaper price. The pick is a no brainer...
There is a very big difference in interior quality . . . While they are both very much high in hand craftsmanship, the Mercedes is more polished - more modern. Not to say better than the Bentley - different.
Had to watch the video twice ... First time all I heard was RRRROOOOAAAAARRR RRRROOOOAAAAAARRR ROOOOAAAARRRRRR I'M AMG RRRROOOOAAAARRR !!! Man all that power!!!! AMG at its finest ... Dem boys are crazy! That is one gorgeous interior ... that IWC Watch ... God I love an Analog dash clocks ... They add a touch of class & sophistication to the interior... Rolls Royce & Bentley (Breitling) nailed that part. I see you had the optional 3D version of the Burmster audio system, And the Speaker Grilles! WOW ! ... Gotta give Mercedes credit for going with Burmster & Not throwing in another Bang & Olufson system. I agree ... Interior wise, The new S raised the bar pretty high & left the 7er, XJ, A8 & LS460 in the dust ... Luckily, we don't have to wait long for a response ... The Next-Gen 7er is scheduled for Frankfurt reveal next year & we will see BMW's answer ... Now, to your question ... That's a really really tough one. As much as I love the new S ... I might have to go with a Mulsanne ... The new S is everywhere here ... I'm back in town for almost a week & I already saw 2 S63s & Gave up on counting the regular S. The Mulsanne MUST be a Mulliner though ... I'd like to bespoke my own interior ;) ... But I'll take a Bespoke Phantom over all of them in a heart beat ! Phantom >> Mulsanne Mulliner >> S65\Ghost >> FlyingSpur W12 >> S63 >> 760Li individual\S500 Designo >> XJ >> A8 ... No Lexus here. What about you M? Which one would you choose? As always M, awesome video. keep the excellent work. I couldn't hear what you said in German, but I heard Affalterbach ... So it gotta be AMG related ;)
About this Roller v Bentley thing . . . I am wholeheartedly in the Mulsanne camp. I say that not from driving both or sitting in them, but after Mean Gene gave me a tour of the underpinnings of both . . .
Gotta go with the Bentley Mulsanne. It's just way more exclusive. The guy whose in a S3 works for the guy who owns the Mulsanne. The guy in the S63 lives walking distance from the beach, while the guy in the Bentley Mulsanne..... has the beach as his backyard.
Depending on what money I would hypothetically make, I would choose my car accordingly. Nonetheless, I have always loved Mercedes-Benz and the AMG line, it's an obsession. I would choose the S65. Why, enormous amounts of power, torque and growl accompanied by an ultra luxurious interior coupled with amazing technology. I like Bentley, yet I do not see myself getting chauffeured in the Mulsanne. I would totally prefer driving an amazing car such as the S65 or even S63, so on that note +kcsclcjc I would not mind being the guy who lives walking distance from the beach
Well, it's depends on your opinion but it's alot more expensive to get the mulsanne when you can get a car with the same amount of car for 200,000 euros less, is it really worth that?
Just traded 2012 S550 4matic for S63 4Matic hands down. Best Benz so far since 1963. Have a SL55 AMG for 10yrs and still love keeping it. Being Exclusive does not mean justifiable for Bentley.
Nice car! Haven't heard from u for a long time, how are you? Wish u & your family have a nicer, happier, healthier year in 2015. When will be your next visit to Asia? Kelvin
***** yeah but the s600 uses the v12 engine too so it's probably faster then this. because this version is only a V8. if you fully optionize this version of s-class then it would cost more then the s600.
tee duke no the s600 is a v12 but has 520 horsepower this one has 577 and all wheel drive . This ones 0-60 is 3.9 the s600 is 4.5 !! The amg is built to be faster . If you love the v12 go for the s65 . Its 0 to 60 is 4 a tenth of a second slower than the 63 despite having more more . The reason is its not awd .less traction . Cheers .
shbitz so it's the horse power that counts? the thing is the s600 starts out costing more then the S63 AMG. when it is fully loaded with every option you can get, it cost more than the s600. why?
Hey , I'm from CT and drive a Audi S6 for now, but want to trade up to either a 2014 S8 or S63. But I do not rape and pillage lol , ;) Oh and I would choose the S63 4matic as awd is needed to run bback and forth between NY, NH ,Boston MA and CT in the winter. Another consideration would be the Audi S8, but the S63 is leaps and bounds above it in fit, finish and quality.
Casey Bonas In my opinion buy a Mercedes s500 for about $100,000 and then spend the spare money from the sale of Your current Audi S6 and the Money you save from not going for an S63 AMG on a dedicated sports car like a Porsche. The way to view it is a man/women of means who understands cars will have a collection such as a Family Sedan and then a dedicated sports car to experience as well. You could have a Cayman S for $65,000. So you would get the quality of an S class and the sports drive of a Porsche. Trust me these are two different experiences.
I would definitely pick the S63 4Matic! It's the fastest, best sounding, price worthy car of the bunch. Plus it's the most gorgeous, I can't justify the price difference for the Mulsanne or S65.. I'd load up a S63 and buy a new 991 Cab or Targa. Mulsanne is simply a status symbol, the S Class is much more comfortable anyways, and much more tech savvy.
Nice review and the color combination is gorgeous. You placed the microphone by the mufflers - but I find the car very quiet on the inside. (it was made quieter for 2014 by customer request). Also, from a dead stop, the car is slower "off the line" compared to a Porsche Panamera. Also, wish the fuel tank would be as big as the Panamera 4S or Turbo. The interior quality is phenomenal and the exterior is gorgeous... just wish AMG would eliminate the traditional slow response when flooring the accelerator that Mercedes is known for.
Personally I would choose the S63, reasons being the S65 is not worth the extra money for the tiny amount of extra power you get in it. As for the Bentley, it is a very beautiful car to look at. No doubt there. But it lacks the technology that Mercedes has. Probably because it is more of an old school car, appealing more to an older generation of clientele.
V12 is just a peach, similar engine to the Pagani Huayra one and Mercedes V12 are reliable and smooth as fuck. V12 are very special engines, just like the W12 and the V8 on the bentley. The V8 with similar power is faster, but the w12 is always better, it's just more refined, more relaxed, more everything, minus faster 0-60, but make no mistake 60-100, 100-160, 100-30-60 the v12 will always be faster!
Ok, aber du fährst mit Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach AUS Affalterbach. Verstehst DU dass? :)) just so you know. Other than that great review. Ohh and by the way, I would chose the S65. First of all because I'm a Mercedes fan and the Bentley is out of the question, but I would chose the 65 because it has more torque and the driving experience it's designed to be more refined, also the V12 sounds a bit better. :)
i own the 2014 S63 amg, and the 2014 s65 AMG, and even though the 65 is a BEAST its just a boost up S65, ,, and when im going out i dont know witch one to choose,,,,my boss has the 2015 mulsanne , i drove it and i realized that the bently mulsanne and the S65 amg twin turbo v12 is in the same league,,,
I would have to go with the S63. I really don't see the benefit of the extra power coming from the S65 and I think the Merc looks better than the Bentley and is, in a weird sort of way, more inconspicuous. Then again, once people hear that exhaust your cover might be blown.
Great video, humorous but educated review. Yes, I'd prefer the Bentley if I could spend more. The S63 I'd love to own, for highway and driving on track. For the same money? I'd buy a used luxury RV and still have 50K left for gas money.
I actually have there 3 cars in decision and testdriven all of them. The Bentley (Continental) looks more exotic but is to dated - the dashboard looks like from the 1980´s. But the S63 and S65 are actually not on sale by MB, because of the current model update. Looks like the S63 will now get the 4l V8 with over 600 hp and the S65 updates are not released. Buying now a 1. Gen. car would make no sense. So the big question for me is will there also be a 4Matic version of the S65, because i live in a region where snow in the winter is usual. I also disagree with the Mulsanne comparison - the equivalent to the Mulsanne is the Maybach.
It it were me, I would actually get the s550. I already have a '14 corvette stingray and however you put it a 5,000lb car will never feel as much fun to drive as a real sports car even if you put a nuclear powerplant underneath, which is what AMG and M and Quattro basically do. Those boats are all faster to 60 but they're boats non the less. I drove the s550 and I think it'll do nicely :-))) Great review!
Best comment ever and it wasn't even about the beautiful car it was, "If you're one of the guys that lives in Connecticut and commute to Wall street to rape and pillage our economy once again." Hilarious, made me shed a tear.
How do you feel about the handling on this car as compared to the S8? I feel like the S8 always seems to get touted as the "driver's car" in this group, but I've heard the S63 is actually pretty great to drive through corners. Thanks.
Evan McMiller Let's state at the beginning: They are both large cars and have do report to the world of physics. That said, I feel the two wheel drive version of this car is the sharpest handling between the S63 and S8.
hey MotoMan. love your work. i would definitely go for the Bentley. no matter how good the S class is, you'd still see it as a low optioned diesel taxi in Europe
My dad is using a S63 amg, and we used to have an 2007 Bentley flying spur, the Merc is my choice by far. No doubt the Bentley is a beautiful car but the Mercedes just is the bolox
I tried to talk Mean Gene into looking at the Benz but he is still mourning the loss of the Flugplatz Blue Aston Martin . . . That said, we have some of his films coming up soon . . .
Compelling review to say the least MotoMan! But if I can afford the RR I am getting the RR, and I can afford and sports car as well. Still very compelling though. Also I like that it has AWD, and if I was to buy one, and I would drive it in the winter for sure.
for me, I think I will get the Mulsanne (if i can afford it) because everyone in the neighbourhood have a Mercedes Benz one way or the other and everybody knows a Merc, only a handful "geeks" will say OMG its an AMG in my neighbourhood, but if I roll out in a Bentley... its a Bentley!! the way I see is -- Merc - "you did something right in your life" ; Bentley "life did something right for you" :)
i have both the s63 (2012) and the Bentley GTC. Very different cars. I choose the s63 for handling and power and reliability and the Continental (not the Mulsanne) for status. The s65 is notoriously unreliable and old school, and depreciates like a rock!
nir Toledano An S63 should really be enough for status. You really only should be wanting people who really know what S63 to be identifying your status. It is like wearing that watch that only people in the know understand. Or wearing a Savile row suit so that people who know what it is would understand it. I mean you could wear a Armani suit so that everybody out there would know that you had one buy Savile row would only attract others with a Savile row.
MotoManTV Bentley Mulsanne is about 280,000. I'd have S63 AMG and a Porsche 991 GT3 RS. By the way, great reviews, you should definitely check out the new Porsche Cayman GT4, that'd be sweat. Cheers Mate!
I choose neither. Why... you ask? 1. I will never be in a situation to actually test the three back to back, or be able to give a true honest assessment like you can. 2. There are still places on this earth (in 2014) and people still don't have access to clean running water. I'm sorry M&M for getting serious. Its just that $170,000.00 could build a hell of a lot of wells. Still the S63 is a amazing car. I loved the camera angles. The passenger side wide angle was especially impressive.
I went all in with a fully optioned s63. The price went up to 190 grand (incl taxes). Haggled it down a few grand but a hefty sum nonetheless. The s65 just didn't appeal to me, I was head over heals with the s65 coupe but after I found out about its engine's prehistoric stage, my infatuation with all the 12 cylinder AMG cars just withered away. I just don't have that feeling of fulfillment whenever I think of myself driving a car slower than a lesser model. I see the charm in a v12 but I'll wait till they update the engine till I make such a significant investment. If I had the money to go for a Bentley Mulsanne I'd go for the s63 and a Jaguar F-Type R instead (which I did). It's more fun having a car to fool around with and a serious car which will help me through my daily life of doing errands and going to college and yet satisfying all of my needs.
Darian Smith well I just did and it's still around the 190K range. It's not a 200K type of car in the first place and rarely do anybody buy cars fully loaded. With a Porsche? Yeah EASILY. 5 options in and you're already over. Some even starts at 200K lmao.
If it were my money, I would buy the s63 because I love v8 engines. I would then also buy a Morgan 3 wheeler because it is better than any motorcycle. I would then buy a m3 or 4.
Since I love both the S63 and the Mulsanne, it's a hard decision. But as someone said earlier, for the asking price of a '14 Mulsanne I could have both the S63 and a 911 (Carrera/Turbo) and use the leftover cash for whatever. Still, earlier Mulsannes have been falling to under $200k, so early Bentley vs recently updated Benz...my gut feeling can't tell.
S63. Lighter and quicker with nothing lost. Perhaps a more interesting (first-world) dilemma, if I were shopping for the S63, I'd be looking at the Panamera Turbo S!
Interesting timing on this comment - yes, I, too woud be intrigued by the Panamera however the interior of the Mulsanne and the Mercedes is in a different league than the Porsche. Not that it is bad - in fact, it is great when optioned properly and I LOVE all the buttons (as an #AVGEEK , not a unified controller kind of guy). All that aside, I have Porsche on the brain as of late - currently in a 911 Turbo S and it is STUPID fast. Swapping it out this week for a Panamera . . . no, not the Turbo S - something different. Stay tuned for those films. Good suggestion.
If it were my money, I'd take an Audi S8 and an Rs7 and an Rs5 so neither is ever lonely at one given time and I'd be at the starting price of a Mulsanne, and with 3 times the horsepower.
***** Agree. I don't know what the fascination with Audi is. Sure, they have nice cars if you go back to the last 5 yrs. beyond that I wouldn't touch an Audi unless you're an Audi mechanic. I'm not saying Mercedes is more reliable, but track record of luxury automobiles over $100k I don't think you can touch the Benz. New kid on the block Audi is innovative and coming along, but I if I had to put my money on it a lot of folks just want something different other than Bmw or Merc. doesn't mean Audi is better. Anyone comparing a Rs7 or Rs5 to an s63 amg is definitely a dreamer, someone who doesn't know what he's talking about. Those cars compare to an E63 amg or C63 amg coupe. He just threw in the S8 to sound credible. People who buy these cars are top executives, we're talking about $200k. These power players want the prestige, status and want people to know they have arrived. An Audi S8, C'mon man!
The S8 and RS7 are pretty damn luxurious, fast as hell and the fit and finish is the same, they are both Luxury Volkswagen Group vehicles. RS5 wont be as luxurious, but its fast, fun to drive, and sounds great. Also, i didn't throw in the S8 to sound credible. Its one of my favorite cars on this planet, and i would chose it over most other cars.
Tristan Rios "fast fun to drive" ... loled so hard!! in germany we have alot of AMG´s, M´s and S/RS, the only real track cars (german production) are M´s and the C-class AMG´s. If you want a fast straight line car, buy american muscle or JDM´s. RS7, S8 are nice for the Autobahn, but AMG´s are much better.
Mercedes are for people who made it, BMW are for people who know what they want, and Audi are for people who haven't quite made it and really don't know what they want. Mercedes and BMW build for their customers. Audi builds for market share.
I'd choose the 2015 S63 AMG 4MATIC. As a current S-550 4MATIC AMG-Sport owner, I've always wished that MB would make 4MATIC available on AMG models and now they have. The V-12 S65 is overpriced (starting at $222,000 here in the US) and it doesn't come in 4MATIC. In addition I'd love to see the S63 AMG 4MATIC with the new 9-speed automatic which will debut on the 2015 CLS-550 rear wheel drive models in the fall of 2015
I would get the S63 AMG. For starters, the S63 looks way better than the Mulsanne on the exterior. Since it is the AMG, it may be a little sportier, and at 4800 pounds, it is probably the lightest among the S65 and the Mulsanne. However, if I had $167,000 to spend on a car, I might get a loaded Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Why not a 911? I live in Michigan, and although you can get a 911 with all wheel drive, the ground clearance is too low. By the way, that "fist" you were referring to is a monument to boxer Joe Louis and those streets are Jefferson Ave. and Woodward Ave. I live in Detroit.
BIG fan of the Cayenne Turbo - and more recently, the Macan (2015 Porsche Macan & Macan Turbo -- First Drive with Hurley Haywood at Willow Springs Raceway). LOVE Michigan and the people up there so can see what that would be a good choice up there - however, in the film, I do say Jefferson and Woodward . . .
I would totally prefer driving an amazing car such as the S65 or even S63, so on that note kcsclcjc I would not mind being the guy who lives walking distance from the beach
RIP 7 series. RIP was nice having you as my favorite.
7 years later and now the 7 series has made its comeback!
For the price of the Mulsanne, I'd take the S63 and 911 to keep it company. Great choices to have in the morning!
You sir, are BRILLIANT!
Good answer...
Excellent choices
911 and a Benz
2014 911 gt3 + S550/s63 amg

63 AMG for the fact that it's a businessmen car with muscle where the Bentley is just a ultra luxury car
javon holmes the real rich could care less about speed. That's why it's called "luxury"
Excellent review MotoMan
I really like how you explain the king of the cars amg baby
Which one is better s63 rwd or s63 4matic

The Mulsanne exterior but all the tech of the S class and its interior.

S65!! I want to drift that beast!!!
love the vids, id choose a s65 because a v12 is just too cool to not have
Ok, aber du fährst mit Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach AUS Affalterbach. :)
I would love the S63 hands down.
Great camera work 4:41
i own the 2014 S63 amg, and the 2014 s65 AMG, and even though the 65 is a BEAST its just a boost up S65, ,, and when im going out i dont know witch one to choose,,,,my boss has the 2015 mulsanne , i drove it and i realized that the bently mulsanne and the S65 amg twin turbo v12 is in the same league,,,
You sir. Need a TV show
Love the current S-class. I´d choose this over the new 7 series, but I´d like BMW-s LaserLights and SkyLounge on it :D
I would have to go with the S63. I really don't see the benefit of the extra power coming from the S65 and I think the Merc looks better than the Bentley and is, in a weird sort of way, more inconspicuous. Then again, once people hear that exhaust your cover might be blown.
Great review. can't wait to buy this car haha
Great video, humorous but educated review. Yes, I'd prefer the Bentley if I could spend more. The S63 I'd love to own, for highway and driving on track. For the same money? I'd buy a used luxury RV and still have 50K left for gas money.
Definitely the S65 AMG with the Magic Body Control, smoother suspension and more torque.
Love these reviews. I have a lot to catch up on.
Hey im from Philadelphia, do you own that Mercedes. I love the interior its so immaculate
I drove the s550 and I think it'll do nicely :-)))
Great review!
Best comment ever and it wasn't even about the beautiful car it was, "If you're one of the guys that lives in Connecticut and commute to Wall street to rape and pillage our economy once again." Hilarious, made me shed a tear.
ill take the S65 AMG because those pipes are are a symphony. nice detroit analogy since i live there! MotoManTV
Why do the specs differ in the video vs. the description box. I'm talking about the torque figure.
What is the price?
Does this kind of had fridge like freezer
S65 AMG i owed a S600 before loved it.
hey MotoMan. love your work. i would definitely go for the Bentley. no matter how good the S class is, you'd still see it as a low optioned diesel taxi in Europe
You do make an incredibly valid point . . .
Not anymore. There isn't a "base S-Class". That's the E CDI.
Can Maybach S600 drive itself and when am I Maybach S600 ful reviews video
My dad is using a S63 amg, and we used to have an 2007 Bentley flying spur, the Merc is my choice by far. No doubt the Bentley is a beautiful car but the Mercedes just is the bolox
More Mean Gene!
I tried to talk Mean Gene into looking at the Benz but he is still mourning the loss of the Flugplatz Blue Aston Martin . . . That said, we have some of his films coming up soon . . .
I would choose the S63 firstly because it is a better car and as an added bonus, I would take the extra money and buy an SL63! Win/Win....
S63 is a car u can drive and have a blast and be driven in like its a rolls. Royce
*Multi-clutch.
DCT is in the SLS
S63 ALL THE WAY its my dream car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The s65 is notoriously unreliable and old school, and depreciates like a rock!
nir Toledano
An S63 should really be enough for status.
All dream cars..for me its the current S63. Its may be the best luxury sedan on the planet.
This car sounds angry. I could picture a shark zeroing on its prey at full speed. Just a beautiful bully!
timeless car
Fantastic car
Is this interior the same as in the s550?
Slightly different . . . the IWC Clock in the dash is AMG only. There are some other trim differences here and there . . .
The Ghost beats them all. There is no Autobahn stateside where the S class would be the weapon of choice.
S63 AMG it's amazing
+Brisdad53 Lmfaoo exposed
+Brisdad53 did you miss out on the "including taxes" part?
King Mathew lmao
Visit mbusa and "build" a fully loaded s63 bud. It'll cross 200k w/ the carbon ceramic brakes
63 should only be in the e and cls
65 should be exclusive to s only
The Panamera? Oh god, I think I'm about to vomit. Terrible looking car.
hahaha this guy is so good at describing
The s65!!!!!!!
If it were my money, I'd take an Audi S8 and an Rs7 and an Rs5 so neither is ever lonely at one given time and I'd be at the starting price of a Mulsanne, and with 3 times the horsepower.
WOW - that's a heavy investment in Audi precious metals.
A7 and RS7 are different. A7 is pretty bare bones as far as interior trim things compared to the Rs7
I would get the outside of the porsche pamnamera turbo and the inside if the S65
What's the difference between s63 & the s65
s65 has a V12 engine and a S63 has a V8
+DeShawn Williams and the s63 is faster.lol
Quicker to 60 only, after 100MPH that V12 will leave the S63 in the dust.S65 also has a much higher top speed.
I own this car!! I am so happy with my decision. I will NEVER give this baby up.
I want a Ghost. Curtains, Starlight headliner...
Official LXRY and an umbrella! Haha
I'd get the s65 amg 4 matic , pure 🇩🇪 power 😍😍
I want an all-wheel drive Mulsanne!!
Im going to skip all three of them and chose ♡RR Ghost♡
Mercedes are for people who made it, BMW are for people who know what they want, and Audi are for people who haven't quite made it and really don't know what they want. Mercedes and BMW build for their customers. Audi builds for market share.
I want the new S-class with the interior from the previous generation W221. I hate the vents and the design of the W222s interior.
I notice this 63 got the 2spoke steering wheel
Perfect car
LOVE Michigan and the people up there so can see what that would be a good choice up there - however, in the film, I do say Jefferson and Woodward . . .
I would rather have the new audi a8. Seems pretty cool and heard it is super comfy.
I would totally prefer driving an amazing car such as the S65 or even S63, so on that note kcsclcjc I would not mind being the guy who lives walking distance from the beach
S63, v12 is just too much, and its cheaper and 41854612 times nicer than Bentley
