    For BS&T, I think I understand why she said "i can picture the choreo to smth else". But personally, after seeing the MV before the full choreo and understanding all the pieces they put in to portrayed this song, I believe no any other choreo could outdone this one. This piece is just legendary. I think all those ARMY who were with them during WINGS era when this came out would agree without a doubt

      It's hard when you have horrible speakers in the dance room lol. The dance tells the story of the song and it can be hard to see if you don't know the song, so I get it. It's like some who don't like how fast Tae dances in Singularity but don't know that he is following the song and little parts of the music.

    I liked her sincerity in saying that she didn't like the song because everyone who reacts to bts always says good things even though you realize that the person doesn't think like that, and that's okay! thank god we are diverse and not all of us will like the same styles, the right thing is to express your opinion in a respectful way as she did! and about the BS&T dance I think taking into consideration the mv and the meaning behind the music you understand that it has a lot more to do with it. BTS has so much meaning behind everything they do 💜

    For BS&T I’m positive that the choreo is made for the lyrics mainly. I understand Korean so I can hear the intensity immediately but for non-korean ears the song can sound super light and really stark from the intense choreo 😭

    I totally get what she means about Blood Sweat and Tears. My hot take is that this is one song where we kinda suffer especially from not understanding the language, because I think here strong dance and strong lyrics are purposefully juxtaposed with less strong (and also maybe a little more cheerful) sounds. For me the contrast is interesting, but I also know what the lyrics are describing and I think that helps there.

    for the choreo of BS&T i totally get what you mean about the "choreo not fitting the actual sound" however, this probably has to do with the fact that it's in a different language. If the lyrics and music video are shown, the choreo actually ties in almost perfectly with the meaning of the song. Just putting that out there, but overall I loved the reaction!

    As someone who danced for over ten years (ballet, etc), I agree on the barefoot comment on the Black Swan intro. Even if just for Jimin on the lift. It’s a very contemporary/balletic choreography (especially the lift) and the white boots do detract from the flow of the beautiful piece. Even flesh colored ballet or no show type dance slippers would work. And kudos to the amazing dance team they had!
    On BS&T I always have people watch the MV first and have a quick introduction to what is going on and see Eng lyrics. Then I show the dance practice. Same thing with Black Swan. Especially the Black Swan MV- because if you don’t watch that first you miss Jimin’s solo parts. But there is a lovely live Black Swan that is all barefoot on James Corden. So good! This MV took me down to the ocean floor and I somehow ended up in the BTS rabbit hole.
    I also show On Kinetic Manifesto first for On.
    I know it’s an MV but it helps understanding what they are talking about (cc) and you can feel the passion.
    Also, can’t forget the live version from Grand Central Station!

    I’m late to this (it was just recommended) but I love this reaction! I love to see people actually try to get into the music and give honest options. Because to me if you are bouncing around and saying you love a song the empire time (not just moments) then they are not trying to understand and truly feel the songs and movements. When I love a move (or a section) I freeze until the feeling is gone. Then I become more energetic. She embraced the entirety of the performances and songs. I feel like youre maybe missing the point a little of them showing us the dance practices. We usually see them after the performances in the MVs for the songs so its nice to see a dance practice without all the pagentry, so you appreciate the full choreo and see what goes into it. I personally dont find the sound of their movements "annoying" as you do; its just part of dance to me.

    The "Go on, Africa Africa" comment was really cute. ♡♡♡ A lot of traditional Korean music shares similar elements with African music, but this one was definitely very, very intentionally traditional Korean. It was basically a clap-back at a Korean awards association that tried to dismiss BTS from award candidacy because "they aren't a Korean pop group anymore, they're a global pop group." The sets, the costuming, the track, the bits of Korean creationism lore here and there, the MAMA performance in its entirety were all as traditionally Korean as a modern kpop group can get in response, and it was beautiful.

    • @oddtrotear
      @oddtrotear 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      but Idol DOES have an intentional African influence as well tho 🤔 From the use of Afrobeats in the music itself to the gwara gwara and shaku shaku moves used in the choreography. Lyric wise tho you're 100% correct but the African influence in the music and choreo is real.

    As a Korean, I will tell you that Idol has Korean Folk rhythm, instruments and dance. Check out BTS's performance of Idol at the 2018 MMA Awards and you will see what I'm talking about. Also, check out Korean Traditional Folk dance of male dancers. There's on called Nongak-Farmers' dance and you will hear the same instruments sounds and some of the same dancing.

      From the suit prints to the dance moves, it was African inspired through and through. Literally so many iconic African dance moves to name. Yes, at the MMAs they changed the music and changed it a bit but honey, THIS original is African inspired. The suits they wore were Ankara print (an African print) made by an African designer.

    • @klee-fung5550
      @klee-fung5550 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Bahiya13 I am 51 y.o. Korean and the video has many Korean Cultural reference. The suits you mentioned are not the only thing in the video. They wore modern versions of the Korean Traditional outfit called Hanbok, the instruments you hear are the folk instruments, the bunny in the moon is a Korean Cultural reference, the part in the chore where one member is singing 얼쑤 좋다 (eolssu johda) means pretty good & 지화자 좋다 (jihwaja johda) a loose translation of that would be "let's go!" Something you say when you want to hype people up. Those words have been use for generations in the Korean culture, and in the Korean Folk song and dance. The members take turn singing those words while the other six jumps in the air and flips around in a circular formation. That is a famous dance that Korean folk dancers have been doing for generations. The fan that Jimin is holding a fan the folk dancers use. I have stated several things to show that this song is Korean folk influence and cultural reference. At 3:22 the large colorful creature things in the back are the similar to lions and tiger creature things that dancers wear in Korean folk dance. If you check out Korean folk dance, you will see that some of the dances that they did were from Korean folk dance! All you can state is the suit, just because few of them have animal prints doesn't mean African. Africa is not the only place that have wild animals. I have nothing against Africa or African music or cultural, and there may be some in this song. However, don't claim that this song is African through and through!! That's completely wrong!

    She doesn't know the stories behind the songs. She doesn't know the lyrics, she doesn't know what BTS is trying to get across with their songs. It's about so many important things, and about loving yourself. There is so much hard work in all the songs of BTS, they always give EVERYTHING for their fans and what they do. They are a very big inspiration, and they should be for everyone. BTS songs, their their coreographies, their music videos, their voices, their music, the things they tell us about self-love, growing up, psyche, self-problems, individualism, and much more. They try to create a better world for ALL people, no matter what origin, nationality, skin colour, or age. Should BTS still change their songs?
    If there are any grammar or spelling mistakes here, I'm sorry, English is the fourth language I speak after Afghan, German, and Korean.

    I love them and stan, but I have to admit, I get it. The instrumental bpurbur bpurbur bpurbur bpurbur can feel repetitive (as can the vocal mani mani mani). Don’t get me wrong, I love this song and their live performances. If you already knew them, or you just met them at the same time as this release, it hits. I think this song is best shown to someone new to our guys, later in their journey and as a full performance with the princely costumes. I think that’s even more true for someone who’s dance focused and not a fan of the mild edm instrumental. Zin is my favorite, I’m a multi Stan and noticed she love sick tracks with great dancing (like her NCT, SuperM reactions). Show her On (manifesto video) or Not Today and Fire practice and performances.

    Hey, I love watching people react to BTS in the field they're familiar in (like dancers reacting to dancing or singers to singing... Etc). And I love hearing both praise and criticism. The woman (sorry I don't know your name!) had very interesting points of view and I totally see where she's coming from! I hope she'll feel free to keep giving her opinion and maybe even get technical with us about the moves and the dance because it'd be very interesting.
    I have a small criticism though, the video for the reaction looks like it's lagging a bit, is it just me? Since this is a dance reaction I feel it's unfortunate we see the video lagging a bit... I hope it gets fixed.
    Aside form the that the video is nice. The choice of dances is good and the background is beautiful. Keep doing what you do!
